The Flamingo Hotel and Tower

We got a great deal on a room for 5 days. We initially asked for a king suite, but they were apparently not available & gave us 2 queen beds instead. Upon entering, the room looked clean, spacious, and beautiful. 2 TV's (one in the front room & one in the kitchen/dining room, 2 queen beds, large vanity/sink, kitchenette (stove, oven, cabinets, refrigerator, microwave, glasses, mugs, plates, bowls, pot & pans and cooking utensils.) Back room with table, chairs, 2 windows and a couch.
Our bathroom was SUPER small, dated, & had a lot of baseboard salt erosion. Beds and sheets were clean, upon my black light & bed bug inspection. The couch was disgusting and stained. Cabinet broken above microwave. One of our windows above the couch was cracked. Microwave handle was broken, but apparently poorly glued back on. No coffee maker. Little black hairs all over the microwave, stove, and bathroom. They do not provide paper towels or any cleaning products (which post-pandemic is a must & we had to buy, so I could clean properly.) There was an air conditioner in the front, by the beds, that stopped working on the 2nd day. We told them 3 times and a guy finally came to look at it. He spent about ten minutes looking at it and said he'd be back the next day to see if it was fixed, but never came back. It still didn't work. EVERY morning they'd wake me up slamming trash cans on the outside floor and banging doors literally yelling, "housekeeping". Elevator went out and we had to pack stuff up 12 half-flights of stairs. If you want coffee, you have to go all the way down to the office. Parking is awful! Tried to call the office, but phone was disconnected. They do have a pretty decent pool and walk from the hotel to the beach. If you do intend on staying here, make sure you pack all the cleaning essentials and if you need coffee in the morning, pack a coffee maker! Try getting a room on the lower floor as they told us they service the elevator once a week, but they never know what day. Be PREPARED!

As we were checking in no friendly welcome, etc.we were located on the second level facing the beach but a piece of ply wood in front of our door. No view. The tv did not work and was told that these were new
TV’s but not programmed. A man came up the same night and couldn’t fix it and told us to call the office at 8 the next morning. The floors were dirty. Had a short in the bathroom switch and had to wiggle the switch to turn off and on. Reported this and nothing done. No apologies. The fridge was rusty on outside. We ask for 2 more pillows and was told we don’t furnish extra pillows. Next day while at beach someone programmed tv and was working until that evening. Called office again and they ca me up to fix it. To our surprise no Kleenex was furnished in room. The shower drain was loose and wouldn’t stay on drain. We were not informed of the construction going on or we would not have booked. The whole place going to our room was men working on constitution and was nasty going to our room. My husband saw a roach. Ugh. This is a place where I would never recommend due to pictures posted vs what we saw. We will not returning. No apologies or how was your stay when checking out. Terrible service.

They didn't have any rooms in the big building so they sent us into the old one across the road and it smelled so bad when I opened the door, I even saw a cockroach and stepped on it and some ants crawling around.
The fridge had a ton of rust ontop of it and there were bugs everywhere I was so paranoid of the bugs that I didn't sleep at all, the couch was also old and musty

If your going to come to this hotel please for your own safety and lives please only get rooms in the big hotel and not the one across the road.

We had a 4 night stay. One night was disrupted by fire alarms because some kid pulled the alarm and the staff couldn't shut it off. The room was recently painted but the appliances are straight out of the 80s. Housekeeping is non-existant. They'll drop off clean towels and that's it. We used to stay here often pre-covid but we won't be coming back.

Need more handicapped parking. My husband is a double amputee and can't walk fast to get across the street, so i pray we find a spot at the hotel every time we leave. They need to make at least 10 spots for handicapped people.

Well I’m going to give my opinion on what used to be a great Motel on the Gulf. We have been here many times as we loved the family owned aspect. Before coming down this year (June 2023) we seen many bad reviews since changing Ownership. We looked past the reviews and didn’t think it would be terrible.

We booked a cabana room, the staff said the pools were open and they advertised both pool on Facebook. Upon arrival we were very upset to see the court side (old garden) pool was closed and full construction going on. We would not have booked this motel knowing this.

They did move us rooms to the tower but that came with a huge Up charge of over $500.00! We drive 10 hours, my wife and kids were tired so we really had no choice last minute but to stay. Considering the amount of money we were charged for the tower we were hopeful the rooms would at-least be clean and buy we’re we wrong. The baseboards were filthy, black mold on the ceilings, filthy walls, the shower down drain! As you’re taking a shower you will accumulate 2-3 inches of water in the tub. Our family became very sick and 4/5 people were puking I’m assuming due to the moldy conditions… needless to say this once great family owned Motel went Corporate and has ruined it. We won’t be back!

First of all, this is not a hotel; it is a motel. When you book via Expedia, they provide motel rooms instead of hotel rooms. It is definitely a one-star establishment. I would not recommend staying here due to its age and lack of cleanliness. The staff at the front desk are extremely rude.

Definitely the best part of this hotel was its location. For the rate that was offered, I knew this wasn't going to be a high quality establishment. The staff was friendly to us and our rooms were well supplied. The quality of the rooms was kinda rough, but it was expected. I did find it a bit tacky to find an empty envelope with a request for a housekeeping tip written on it. Plus it was written that the envelope was to be turned in to the front office. I usually leave the housekeeping tip on the dresser.
The traffic out front was loud from all the people "cruising the strip. " I expected that. The people who were in and out of the hotel were all friendly, but you can tell they were there to party and indulged in such. But again, that was kind of expected.
We tried walking to some of the local eateries, but most had extremely long wait times.

Not s real updated place but not bad at all. They are building a Tiki bar which will be awesome. The staff are freaking awesome and helpful.
Don't expect the Ritz but it is clean and loads of fun. You won't be disappointed unless you are a Karen.

The location of the hotel is right on the beach, and it backs right up to Front Beach Rd. Walking distance to Gulf World and lots of places to eat. It is a very loud area, you can hear all the street noise in your room. The room had 2 full beds, a stove, a microwave, and a refrigerator. The room was worn it needed some updates, some paint, a good scrub, and it could be a nice place. The tub was cracked, the toilet seat was missing some porcelain, and the bathroom mirror was tarnished around the edges. Mounted fixtures and furniture had been removed from the walls & never spackled and repainted. The beds and dresser seemed newer. The tub was dirty. The floor looked like it hadn't been mopped in a very long time. We tried to keep shoes on our toddler, and it immediately turned his feet brown. The TV only got 4 pixelated channels, and they kept telling us someone would come to look at it, but it never happened. These were all things I could deal with because I always bring cleaning supplies to a hotel and who really spends that much time in their room at the beach, right? But the absolute worst thing is the roaches! They were everywhere! We would leave lights on at night because less came out.

That hotel is on LUXURY LEVEL! Beautiful beach and ocean view! Very nice staff! I don’t know if it matter to anyone else but their water gets good and hot AND it stays that waybeautiful rooms that are cozy. Everything was clean and neat. My sisters and I was there 3 weeks ago and we still are talking about it and wanna come back! Chose them for your next Panama City Beach trip…EVERY ROOM has a balcony facing the ocean! I promise you won’t regret it. Hope this help cuz they got it going on!

We have stayed here for the last three years in a row. The first year was before it was sold by the original owners. It was nice and very clean. Last year we noticed that it had went down especially in hospitality and cleanliness. This year was just terrible. As I entered the office to check in I was not greeted by any of the office staff, I stood there while they were both on their phones Ignoring my presence. Once we got to our room which was in the tower we immediately noticed how filthy the floor was. Our shower head a glue in it that prevented it from spraying correctly my husband called the front desk and was told they would notify maintenance. They never did so he had to fix it so we could use it. The pool on the cabana level is closed so that meant everyone who used the pool was in the same one, it and the hot tub stayed so crowded we could never use it. They allowed this well into the early morning hours even though after pool hours were supposed to end at 10. They said nothing about the screaming and yelling, very loud music being played on someone's speaker. They are building what looks like a tiki bar which does not make sense because if they are already having difficulty keeping normal maintenance up then why add something else. The bad spot in the parking lot last year is now a big hole. The elevator only worked periodically, made a loud slamming sound when it did and it smelled of hydrologic fluid. I had to go the the office to get our towels and trash bags. I asked for a broom and dust pan and was told they didn't have any. Yes the view is nice but every hotel with a Gulf view is nice. I could only imagine what the older part of this place is like.

This Motel needs to be torn down and rebuilt. The only good thing it's right on the beach BUT the balcony is gross, the window to look out of hasn't been cleaned ever, the appliances need to be replaced actually the building just needs to be demolished and rebuilt to match 20th century standards.

Place is trash you do not get what you paid for the internet booking thru them is a complete lie.when you complain they don’t even try to fix it they ask you do you want “to check out” they don’t care if the TV works, They don’t care if the lights work. We checked in and two hours later we got a notice saying that the electricity was gonna be off for five hours. We paid for a courtyard room and our room is facing a brick wall despite what the online booking said. The toilets are filthy, full of mold and fungus, the floors are nasty and not swept and not mopped. Also every single person in the office is rude. Very rude. If you want a low budget room like you’re staying in the projects in the ghetto, this is the place for you. The owner is aware of everything and did nothing to help resolve the issues. We asked for a refund and they recharged us for one nite and refunded that, and did not refund the original payment. This place is a scam, Zero stars should be an option.

Has went down hill in so many ways. I miss the old owners. The floors were black the day we arrived. At first glance everything looks nice and then you try to walk on the floor barefoot and it's nasty. Feet will be black with one touch to the floor. The cabinet is barely hanging on and the stove only had three eyes that worked. The dresser only has two drawers that you were able to be pulled out to use. The vents were covered in dust and a lot of mold was on the walls and lamp shade. The one pool that was opened has a light with exposed wire laying at the bottom of the pool. No one was in forcing rules. Anyone could swim at the pool. I was not happy with the room and the front desk was not as welcoming as the prior owners. I don't like posting negative reviews but don't waste all that money when you can stay at a nicer hotel/motel.

Place has gone downhill. Have stayed here numerous times in the past and have had great experiences, but this time was awful. We only booked one night (thank goodness) and even that was too long. We stayed in the "penthouse" ($422 for one night) and there were flies everywhere! Floor was disgusting and we had to wear socks in the room. One pool is closed due to construction so everyone crams into one pool which is awful. There was a group of rowdy teens while we were at the pool that had huge floats and were throwing a volleyball hitting people and splashing kids. Too stressful to enjoy. This was definitely our last time. It's so sad because I remember how great it once was. Save your money and rent a condo, you'll never rent here again.

My husband and I had a good experience at the Flamingo last weekend and will stay again. The ladies in the front office and the other hotel staff were very friendly. The room, hot tub, and pool were clean. It is walking distance to Pier Park and Gulf World.
Our room was changed from the cabana level to the tower due to construction of a tiki bar which was disappointing, but the view from our balcony was beautiful.
If you want to be on the beach at a reasonable price, only need the bare necessities, and do not mind the hotel being older, this is a perfect place to stay.

Room smelled horrible like mildew and mold it rained the night I stayed in it last night and the floors got soaking wet I was on the third floor not a great experience and probably will not stay there again

Not impressed. Many of my groups rooms smelled of mold and in various states of disrepair. Light in my room didn't shut off. Couple associates had items taken from their rooms. Had I not had an ocean view, I'd have been very disappointed.
