The Florida Holocaust Museum reviews
14Be prepared I did not realize how emotional it would be mostly its artwork by those in the camps THEMSELVES very touching and it hits HARD! It's also very nearby the Dali Museum 5 minutes away!
I'm really glad i went. It's a fairly small museum, but well worth seeing. If you're wondering, what started as the Holocaust Information Center was opened St. Pete because a husband and wife who survived the Holocaust settled there.
The major artifact at this museum is a train car from Treblinka, on tracks from the killing center. While a train car wouldn't ordinarily find a train car remarkable, this one is in light of how it was used and how many Jews were held in it and what that was like. This is history we must never forget.
Wow.this place is a heart breaking.eye opening place.some amazing exhibits and great interactive ones. Definitely a place to visit to read about some survivor stories. Very impacting on showing what hate can cause.
This is an excellent museum. So informative. It's a little on the smaller side, but it made up for it ten-fold in exhibits.
Well-presented survey of one of the darkest chapters of human history. Lots of fascinating displays and items.
Great museum to know all about the Holocaust. There are many testimonies of people involved. The Boxcar help you understand the horror during that time. One of the most amazing experiences is Dimensions in Testimony, where you can ask questions to Holocaust survivors using special technology. I particularly liked the exhibition “Memories of My Life in a Polish Village” by Toby Knobel Fluek. The museum is small, so you can go through in a short period of time.
A very interesting place to see and learn about something that should have never happened. We must never forget this, so we do not repeat it again. Great exhibition.
Smaller museum but a favorite, priced a little high for a small as it is but still felt it was mostly worth it.
I absolutely love this place as a must visit when in St Pete because it helps awareness of history.
It was a very impactful experience to see and learn about the history of anti-semitism across the world that led up to the Holocaust. I feel this museum should be mandatory for everyone in the Tampa Bay Area. It shows the truth of the horors of what occurred, but in such a way that it was gentle enough for teens and pre-teens. I plan on going again. There are so many important details to learn.
Very educational. Enlightening and sobering. I recommend people from all walks of life visit.
Is a place where people should go to see and to witness what true evil was. The strength of individuals who survived mankind Darkest Hour. And to ingrain into the Next Generation the need for this to never happen again.
Very moving and personal. It is difficult for a human to understand such actions. Let us learn vastly and grow to be better in being human. Moment to moment in Love.
Wow, what a well organized and detailed collection of the worst time in our history. We really enjoyed our visit.
