The Gates Hotel South Beach - a DoubleTree by Hilton, Miami Beach FL

It was just okay. Not the standard I’m accustomed to as a Diamond Hilton Honors member. The room was extremely small much smaller than NYC rooms despite being an upgrade. The battery that opens the door burned out and we couldn’t get into our room. We had to wait for the engineer to com change the battery. The staff at the hotel did a good job. The warm chocolate chip cookies were over cooked and not worth the calories. I would NOT stay here again and would NOT recommend The Gates.

I was very impressed with the service, quality of the room and amenities of the hotel for the price. I thought I got great value and was very happy with my stay. The staff was excellent and went out of their way to make sure I had a great stay.

The only things I didn't like were that the doors and walls seemed thin so since you are in Miami so you may hear some loud talking in the hallways late at night. In my case it didn't last long but I did experience that.

Other than that I had a great experience and would recommend this hotel if you're looking for a place to stay in Miami Beach.

Excellent customer service! Joe was amazing! He made sure we had everything that we needed and told us all the spots to go to. We will definitely be back!

The rooms are small but clean. 2 queen beds barely fit leaving room to walk or carry luggage. The bathroom door does not provide privacy since you can see in the sides right into a mirror. Staff was great and amenities were nice, very clean.

Great experience. We slept in until 1pm by accident and we were lucky we weren’t charged for another night! The woman at the front desk was beyond kind and provided excellent customer service. We will be staying here again for our next visit in 20 days! Looking forward to the hospitality again!

I stayed @ Gates Hotel from 11/23 to 11/29/21
I wanted to give a BIG Thank YOU to the front desk staff: Jose Hernandez Christine FREDERICK Kevin And Timothy & Bob for their dedication and hard work since I arrived at the hotel. They deserve credit and recognition for going beyond the call of duty.

It was the best part of my trip. I felt at home. And Karim is the best. So good at welcoming you to a relaxing vaca. Loved it! My room was so comfortable. The hotel was extraordinary! A truly good find! Complimentary beach chairs, pool table, beautiful pool and delicious food and drinks. Had it all right there! Bob was the best with the luggage! Thank you for the best memories and a fabulous vacation! I truly enjoyed south beach. And would highly recommend.

I had an issue with the valet dept and although it was a third party and unaffiliated to the hotel, Amy, the Assistant Manager, provided excellent customer service and helped resolve the issue. The Gates Hotel is extremely lucky to have her.

Although the staff is trying all to make your stay more pleasant, this is a substandard hotel. Nothing as shown in the pictures. The pool area is a joke and dirty. The rooms are small and subfurnished.
If you think about having a good time or do some special in Miami, please do not spoil your weekend or vacation staying there. It is a glorified two star hotel and I am being generous.

My friends stayed here while visiting me and it was lovely! Their room had a balcony with a view of the river, and we enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The lobby also smells AMAZING!

I was very unhappy with the entire experience at this hotel. First, when I booked my 2 queen bed room online, there were two separate rates, and I booked the more expensive one thinking it is a bigger size and is in a better location. When I got to the hotel though, I was told all 2 queen bed rooms that don't have a balcony are the same size. To this day I still don't know what I paid the higher rate for.
During the stay the cleaning crew forgot to clean my room for two days in a row even though I specifically told them they could clean it after leaving it on those two days.
Additionally the room was very noisy and extremely poorly lit.
I sure won't stay in this hotel again. The whole experience was expensive and disappointing.

The gates were very accommodating from the beginning. We had a very nice stay. I loved the smell of the hotel and everything they offered. The pool could be a little warmer and the trash from the pool area needed a little work but other then that I definitely will be back for another stay with them. They also have a pool table to enjoy with the fam. A pingpong table near the pool that was pretty cool. And lots of areas just to chill and talk around the hotel. Thank you for a great weekend.
