Just an ordinary house.
Ernest Hemingway is remembered.
Nice weather. In Mexico it would be a Magical Town.

A wonderful place to visit. Our guide, Scott, was terrific, filled with knowledge and great anecdotes.
The house is beautifully preserved and filled with well-preserved pieces and artifacts.
An outstanding way to get in touch with a most interesting man.

Good piece of history. Really well maintained and definitely gets you thinking about what Hemingway experienced living there. Gets pretty busy though…

A must-see. Many of the writer's possessions are on display and the guided tour offers explanations about them. Beautiful house with tropical gardens where sweet cars roam around.

Neat to see where the big man lived. Our tour guide was entertaining and knowledgeable. It was fun to hear the stories, especially the ones about his wife (wives). And yes, the six-toed cats do roam free here and enjoy a nice petting. The grounds are very lush with seating and a great place to rest your feet and people (cat) watch.

I expected it to be busy, but the tours were disorganized considering the cost. Interesting history and lovely home, though.

I`m not into museums but I`m definitely happy I visited this one. I learnt so many things about Ernest Hemingway. You can look around by yourself or you can use the 30 minute guide tour available with the ticket purchase for entrance. I opted for the second. The property is very well maintained and though there are many cats living here, it is clean and there is no smell. The cats are really interesting - they have 6 fingers. Tickets are sold at the entrance, cash only.

If you love his writing or are just interested in him as a historical figure, you need to take the tour

We loved the stories of Hemingway's life. Moreover the cats! The cats get to enjoy almost an acre of beautiful tropical landscaping. Currently, the estate has 60 cats and 6 kittens. We sat on a bench to take a business call.one of the cats jumped in my purse. Very cute.

An interesting peek into the life and times of the mercurial Ernest Hemingway. This home, which ironically belonged to one of his wives, was the home in which he wrote many of his most famous novels. A must-see when visiting Key West to dash away from all the run of the mill souvenir shops.

We visited the Hemingway Home and Museum during our trip to Key West. It was extremely interesting.
Would suggest going on the guided tour. It's no extra cost, and the tour guides have exceptional knowledge. They can yell you about the cats and why they are there. Interesting that they have more toes than the normal cat. They all have specific names of actors, past and present.
As for the house and museum, there is so much amazing information about Hemingway. Was very interesting.
When the guided tour is over, you can wander around on your own.
It was really a high point of our Key West visit.
A must do for any Hemingway fan.

The guided tour was a glimpse into Hemingway’s life. Many of the original chandeliers, fixtures, photos, paintings and personal items are on view. The cats run the house and are each named after a famous person. It is well worth the visit.

That is as close as you can get to enjoy the company of a writer I have loved since childhood.

We visited The Hemingway House and enjoyed our experience. Many cool possessions of the famous writer and local Key Wester, Ernest Miller Hemingway. Also, around the house, you can find cats lying around on beds or walking around the spacious complex. Outside of the house is just as amazing. Definitely recommend checking out this historic place while visiting Key West.
