The Iris at Northpointe, Lutz FL

Nice place to stay. Super friendly staff. Pet friendly, although I did think it was weird that they did a dna test on my dog so that they can know who isn’t picking up behind their dog…. But I get it. The gym could use a little attention, it doesn’t look like there’s been real changes or updates to the equipment in the past 3-4 years. The onsite garages are nice…. Tight squeeze for trailers, but still nice to have.

I have since inherited a home & moved from the Iris but I loved living at the Iris & still visit on occasion as I’ve made friends at the Iris. The staff is wonderful, helpful, friendly & I miss them too. On move in day, our moving company couldn’t get their truck in & Kimberly went & got her car & opened up the back gates so they could enter. We were recently invited to judge the Halloween costume contest. It’s like family. The maintenance staff is quick & knowledgeable. I give the staff the three Ps…. Professional, Prompt & Poised to help at any moment. It will be one year on November 1st that we moved but I’ll always visit to say hi to those I miss. Margaret Caruso

I have lived at the iris for 2 years and absolutely loved it. It is clean, quiet and serene. The staff is so helpful and very on top of property management. I would highly recommend this complex to anyone needing to move!

Just moved here two months ago from Denver, CO. We never got the chance to see this apartment in person since we had 3 weeks to make our move before I started work. We were interested in the Odessa/Lutz area because it's newly developing with lots of nice things popping up around the area. We checked out two apartments, the Iris at Northpointe and The Lotus at Starkey Ranch. Ultimately decided on The Iris and we don't regret our decision at all.
The Iris is a nice community, tucked away off of the busy SH 54. There's easy access to the Suncoast highway, only 20~ minutes down the tolls to get to the Tampa International Airport. There's also the Citrus Park Mall just down Suncoast as well. There's plenty of fast food, and upcoming ones as well which include: Chipotle, Panera Bread, McDonalds, Chilis, and many more.
The apartment complex is kept very clean. It's quiet, thanks to being tucked away from the main road. It's also nice that it's a gated community which adds that extra level of security. We have valet trash ($30/mo mandatory, can be a pro/con) that comes by 6 days/week and pest control comes out every Tuesday. Pest control has told me that this is easiest apartment complex that he treats because there are really no pests apart from common sugar ants found outside. No cockroaches, beetles, or anything of that sort, though we do have silverfish. I would definitely recommend:)

Edit: Dropping my review from 5 stars down to 3 stars, post lease renewal. They increased my rent from $2,175 a month up to $2,317 a month for my 2 bed/2 bath. I'd suggest taking your money and spending it elsewhere, it can go much further if you look around the area. I tried negotiating with them, and they refused to budge. The apartments are nice but when I'm paying $2400 a month altogether without gas/electric, that is very expensive for what we're getting. We're basically just paying for location. There was no option for a lower rate by increasing the term so we just went with the lowest term and are getting out of here ASAP. Many residents seems to feel the same, as almost all my neighbors have moved out since. If they were reasonable with rent increase, this would be a great place to stay, but like I said you can get a 3bed/2bath townhome for the same price as this place.

We just completed a 10 month stay at this apartment complex while we were building our new home. I’m not sure why anyone would give anything less than five stars. The staff, the maintenance team, and the cleanliness of the project, and the amenities are just superb.we actually embraced a couple of the star employees Mo and Darwin, who is led by the general manager, Angie. Kim, our agent helped us every step of the way, and always was pleasant and communicative. She was awesome. I’ll give an additional shout out to Mo again, we really liked him! If you’re considering a complex, do yourself a favor and take a look!

Although I have never resided at “The Iris”, I did have the pleasure of touring the community on 3 separate occasions. The hallways were well kept, the grounds were beautiful, the location to all the new and up and coming shops was great, and the rent cost compared to the area was relatively low as well. I didn’t have any concerns in touring the property and would have moved there if I didn’t end up deciding not to sell my current place closer to Downtown Tampa. I will consider living here in the future if I ever decide to rent again. The staff was very friendly and the only real concern I have viewed going through the reviews is about dogs/noise associated with them. I guess that might depend on who your neighbor is and unfortunately with being a renter it comes with the territory and wouldn’t deter me in the future.

This place is AWFUL! Avoid at all costs… stayed here last year and I have so many horror stories they wouldn’t fit on one post. This place is literally hell on earth, masquerading as a nice, decent apt complex. Literally, pick ANYWHERE else. Don’t say you weren’t warned.

We love living here, it's quiet and tucked away from 54. The complex is beautifully landscaped and so is the drive to the complex. All our neighbors are quiet and respectful and the maintenance people are quick and get ahold of you promptly.

I have been here since 2021 and love it. Everything is well taken care of, and it feels like you're in nature vs.traditional apartment parking lots. It's far enough away from the highway where you have peace. Residents are kind, participate in various community events throughout the year, and the staff is super helpful. Pricing is reasonable, and it feels like a mini paradise, primarily due to how well the maintenance staff cares for the place. Issues are fixed quickly and is an overall nice apartment complex.

Definitely recommend. Kim and the management are very organized and do a great job keeping the complex running smoothly.

If you have a dog that place may be great for you, but you also need to like freezing pools because that’s how it is, if you have kids have lots of other apartment complexes that are very kid friendly but this is not the place for it, they have nothing for kids inside of the complex just a dog park, and the business center have nothing to do unless you like ping pong, have other “luxury” places in the area that really offer the luxury part… they really don’t offer anything else just a freezing pool and a gym (the gym is very good one star for the gym) dogs walk unleashed, and poop around the lawn nobody pick it up.

I cannot believe I have not left a review for this place. All I can say is no other place will compare! We moved only because of job being over an hour away but every complex I looked at when moving away from this paradise, in my head all I could say was nothing will ever compare to the Iris. I am still sad that I am not here after being gone for almost a year. Perfect for our large dog because in the front of the complex was a lake with a walkable path for her to run. All the new people moving in are lucky for sure. The one thing I will miss the most is the huge balcony that we had on the 3rd floor. No balcony just as huge and so peaceful to sit at during the night.

We loved living there. One of the cleanest communities I’ve ever seen.
We just moved out bc we needed more space and unfortunately the 2bed was too expensive for us. But overall it’s a great community.
