The Ivy reviews
15Alex and Edwin are amazing workers and great people! My apartment was full of problems but they fixed basically everything.
Great changes at the Ivy with Jason McClain, Regional Facilities Manager! He took care of all the issues in our daughter's apartment in a timely manner. Jason listened to our concerns and was very professional. He ordered a mold test, had the air conditioner and air ducts cleaned plus fixed a few other items. We also bought DampRid moisture absorber from Target for $10.49. No more mold or damp smell. We want to thank Jason for taking the time to address our issues and for caring. He's making all the difference!
If you are looking for safe off campus housing, this isn't it. My daughter and I looked into a sublet. The office, pool area and units facing the community space look great. Things change quickly as you move to the back buildings. Seedy, not maintained, discarded furniture. The unit we saw was in disrepair and smelled awful. We noticed many people looked down and out. Turns out about 50% of the occupants are random people renting bedrooms, not students.
PLEASE DO NOT OVERLOOK THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS. Not a good place to live. Google search "The Ivy Tampa News" and you will find what many have experienced. Black mold, holes in the wall, dirty, water damage, ect. Management and those in the office lie and sweep under problems you attempt to bring to their attention under the rug. They don't care about the tenants; they only care about MONEY. They won't lift a finger for you if you bring your concerns to them. Maintenance doesn't do their jobs effectively. You will have to put in multiple work orders and go to the office many MANY times to even get anything fixed. If something is broken, you may get an email or text that says the issue was done or completed, but wasn't. When I lived there, there was this nasty smell. It smelled like black mold or mildew. I moved out because of all this and because I was dealing with financial difficulties. However, management doesn't care. They will threaten to turn over your file to their attorneys. YOU DON'T WANT TO LIVE HERE. I wouldn't want anyone to live here after everything I have experienced and read about what others have gone through. Just want to look out for everyone.
Jonathan and Jason were amazing. We had a leak and they came right away and clean everything for us and fixed everything that needed to be fixed. Thank you both again!
Genuinely the worst place I’ve ever lived. Living here has made my mental health so much worse. Mold everywhere. They hardly clean the rooms before you move in. Tour is nothing like the actual rooms. Worst experience with an apartment I've ever had in my life. I’d do anything to move out. They take advantage of young college students. Live anywhere but here.
Have been living at the ivy for over a year now, worst and least caring staff, I have had problems in the apartment for over a month and they havnt even looked at it.
My roommate and I were welcomed to a completely different apartment than advertised by a staff that allegedly confers "elevated expectations" for its residents. From the moment we stepped into the lobby, our discomfort grew- rips on the couches, dirty floors, and unorganized front desk staff made a memorable first impression. If deceit were an apartment complex, it would be The Ivy. A well-rounded digital team sure knows how to lure people into a filthy, molded, smoke-filled, rusted apartment- all for the cost of rent comparable to that of top-tier, well-rated apartment complexes less than 5 minutes away.
WHEN U HEAR “THE IVY”…RUN AWAY AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE. DO NOT QUESTION DO NOT HESITATE & DO NOT CREATE SOME FANTASY THAT THIS PLACE IS LIVEABLE BECAUSE ITS NOT. ITS A LIE!
Moved in literally 2 months ago and it was the worst decision!
- The apartment is filthy and not ready to be lived in
- my key to my FRONT DOOR does not work and week and week they keep saying they’ll fix it but still nothing
- Staff is rude and they do not answer the phone
- the Pool is dirty and filled with children and with living close I always hear screaming
- half of the mail boxes don’t close
- I thought my package never arrived because the office never notified me
- the Theatre doesn’t work
- if you have no car there is no bus routes to campus
- the front gate does not work
- maintenance is terrible
Walked in on moving day and nearly cried from how dirty it was and looked nothing like the pics or model home.don’t move here they take college kids money and it isn’t worth it me and my family took and whole day scrubbing and cleaning it so it was liveable.i have a friend whose bfs apartment was way worse.they just switched companies so i’m hoping it’ll get better as the year progresses
This place disgusting. Damages everywhere. Not what is advertised on the site. Damages everywhere. To top it off there’s roaches. And I’m pretty sure the massive pile of boxes in my unit doesn’t belong to any of my roommates that I know of.
I wish I could put 0 stars. I am so glad people are finally coming forward about this. I had felt like I was the only one who experienced how bad it was. I know the staff is required to respond to these, and I feel bad for them. But I think we all need to speak up and hopefully they can finally send the department of health here to help the people who still live there. I wish I never lived here. I left as soon as I got a chance. All the reviews are true.
In the height of summer the AC has been broken for a week now. It breaks down often but it hasn't been as hot as mid-summer. Despite numerous pleas and all avenues we've been ignored. Many other issues like water coming in thru the ceiling and flooding.
Already spent 1 night in a hotel, tonite its really bad so tomorrow its off to another hotel simply for the AC, at our expense
Blatant neglect.
They maintain their units once a year July/August before everyone moves in to catch the appeal. They do not maintain their units. You will move into an unclean unit that has been painted over. If you have any issues with furniture it will not be replaced and you will be charged for years of damages made from previous tenants. There is poor communication amongst the staff and the the upkeep of their property. If you have a problem with your account, you must email property managers. In hopes that you get a reply in an efficient manner, more times than none you will receive an offhand reply. Leaving the feeling of wonder if the time was taken to read and register the email that was sent. It is not the safest area to live; hence the constant visit of police officers on the property. Secure your home or do yourself a favor and find better student living. Because the Ivy.you guys need to do better.
