The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art reviews
14Quite a lot to see here really allow you self some time the art museum is quite large and the grounds are lovely!
Nice museum. Interesting circus model. Unbelievable details. Beautiful grounds and opulent house to tour.
The Mansion of John & Mable was great. We were not allowed to tour upstairs though.
The age old banyan trees in yhe garden outside were spectacular. We didn’t have much time to explore the museums completely.
If you are planning to visit here, accomodate atleast 2-3 hrs of time if you are looking to checkout the museums & the mansion. Parking was just across the museum & its free. The ticket for museums & the mansion was 35$ each.
I lived hear my full life I love the place it bring back the past it's all great to go it's worth the money go see it when you are here
The museum was amazing, the place tells a lot about circus history and culture. I was fascinated by the exhibitions. The view from the mansion was breathtaking. I recommend to visit.
Impressive museum with great art collection and superb historic neogothic mansion by the ocean
This is unique to Sarasota. A must visit if you want to know the history of the Ringling family and visit the beautiful mansion.
Beautiful grounds, buy the extra ticket for Ca' d'Zan the self guided tour with audio is worth it. I was there from 2pm-5pm and had to rush to see all the art exhibits. I could have spent a few more hours exploring.
We visited at night during the toys for children event.there is a lot to see and we will go back to enjoy the experience again
If you visit all 4 bldgs. Allow about 4 hrs.at least. Magnificent art and statues, the home is very nice. The Model of the circus is awesome.
The art museum gets 4 stars — it’s a solid collection of Rennaisance oil paintings and a lot more.
But the “Circus Museum” rates only 2 stars. It’s a poor excuse for a museum considering that the benefactor was THE circus magnate for almost 100 years. There was not a single costume, barely a photograph, no personal stories or deep collections of memorabilia. A true disappointment.
I’ve heard from others that they had a different experience—and saw items that were not on display when I visited. Maybe I went at a bad time. But still— the space is tiny and the collection is really lacking. Certainly not “the greatest show on earth”. Sad.: - (
We love the Ringling museum! Every visit is always a good time. Theres always something new to see and the grounds are beautiful to walk and explore. We went on a monday which is free basic entry day. So that was a plus too.
We loved our visit to the John and Mable Ringling Museum so much, I wanted to display a photo to commemorate the trip.
Thanks again.

The Ringling was such a wonderful experience. The historical circus details and artifacts was really incredible to see.
The grounds are so lovely and well maintained. The House of John is a piece of artwork in itself! The Ringling collection of art is impressive. So much variety! We thoroughly enjoyed our day at The Ringling!
