I'm just checking out places for a possible upcoming trip, this looks like a place I would enjoy

Looks like there's some damage from Ian 2022? The boardwalk to the marsh is boarded up and shows damage, and the steps and bench near the beach are knocked over/buried. Got in some nice bird watching. The palm warblers get really close.

The boardwalk is broken down and blocked off. The path was very muddy. Parking was hard to find.

Shurly there is enough money to clean this place up, make it what it should.and get rid of the squatters.

MUCH smaller than I'd anticipated, but was still lightly trafficked and a nice brief stroll. Wouldn't go out of my way to come here again, but since it was on my walk from my hotel to the beach, I stopped in a couple times.

The Key West Nature Preserve is a nice little pocket park with a boardwalk that opens up to the sea. The marshy area can sometimes smell and foster more bugs than is usual in modern Key West, but this is reflective of an untouched island ecology. Muscle through the marsh and you’ll be treated to a private seaside view not many visitors or even locals ever see. Great area for birdwatching!

Neat little spot right in the middle of things. Walk quietly you never know what you might see

Don't waste your time with this place. There was trash everywhere and the beach was also covered in trash. Even the trash can on the boardwalk was overfilled with trash. There are better things to see in key west.

It's sad to such a beautiful place not well taken care of by the city of Key West. It's home to hundreds of indigenous species and the beach looks very abandoned. The path toward the beach needs lots of work and attention. Surprisingly for such an environmentally inclined city. It's very poorly kept and not protected by police at all. I've been going on and off there all year a n.v d have yet to see an officer even on a bike or horse.

I read the reviews so took a bag for trash clean up. Really pretty beach, there was a lot of glass, but otherwise unspoiled.

Small free Florida fun worth having a look at. It's basically two short boardwalks under shady canopy a couple hundred yards apart that pass through some wetlands and bottom out at two narrow beach segments separated by the Casa Caselles condos. Hey folks, this is what Key West used to look like. Not unlike other Keys beaches, it's narrow and rocky and full of seagrass and do take good care to watch out for the sea glass, not the good kind. There's lots of sharp broken glass on the beach but give it a good ten years and it'll probably be an attraction. It's my guess campers, hobos, and tramps used to make good use of this quasi private quiet slice of Key West after sundown but it looks like the city's working hard to clean it up or err at least keeping up with the waves of trash and litter left behind except on the beach in the surf itself. Such said, be careful there of glass and shady types.

This place has a short boardwalk from the street to the beach through the trees. There’s a narrow beach with sea debris and riffraff. Nice place does sitting and watching the ocean or going for a swim. Small park with not that much to see, but it’s a good nature break from the shopping and bar streets of Key West.

It was decent. There’s a lot of trash and parking is hard but it’s a lot quieter than other beaches.

The preserve is very small and under a great deal of repairs. It is pleasant, just not very much to see right now. That is what a nature preserve should be. The path skirts the edge of the presence, and leads to the ocean.
It is worth seeing.

Too bad people and the city neglect the few nature spots on the island. What could be a nice haven for wildlife and people doesn't seem to get any love or care. Infrastructure is dilapidated, and there is a lot of litter. Humans are disappointing.
