The Kookaburra Downtown reviews
20Amazing coffee, would recommend the PC and the chocolate scone. Nice to walk around Saint George st after.
Loved the raspberry and cinnamon scones, you could test the real flavors not a lot of sugar and that’s what we loved. They have seating outside so we were able to enjoy with our dog. Pet friendly and awesome stuff!
The coffee was good, got the iced Aussie. We went to the seating area next door, but it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in quite some time, so we took it to go. Affordable prices.
Amazing coffee. Such a cute place, with lovely tiles. People are so nice and friendly here. Also I loved the Aussie pies. I will keep my memories forever.
Cool little coffee place with selections outside the norm of the chain coffee stores. Friendly staff, and good prices
I've tried several coffee places in the downtown St. Augustine area over my last couple of visits and I think this spot hits the best for when you need coffee & a snack! The signature "Kookaburra" drink runs sweet so throwing in a shot of espresso for a "Kookaburra Diesel" balanced it out perfectly for me, and the aussie meat pie will hold you until dinner whilst not being too heavy; the dough is cooked completely and the meat inside isn't swimming. Can't ask for much more from a meat pastry!
Really good place for breakfast. Hot chocolate was delicious. Banana vegan bread was awesome too.
Heard their coffee was good so we all stopped by.
Was not disappointed. The coffee was good and not burnt. The staff was friendly and the store was clean.
Australian theme but you won’t find these in Australia at all.
There is seating indoor and some outdoor. Bathroom was sadly out of order both visits.
My first time here. I got a mocha but it was so delicious. The coffee was also delightful.
The coffee is amazing and the baristas are very friendly but its practically impossible to connect to the wifi.
We got the honey badger, chai, and a couple of the Aussie pies. WOW! The honey badger was great, not too sweet. The chai wasn’t the best we’d had but still very good. The Aussie Pies - a very pleasant surprise - we got the crust less and the egg/cheese (can’t remember the name now). Go! You won’t regret it.
Not the best cold brew I've had. It reminded a lot of a dark stout I had the night before, which was not the flavor I wanted first thing in the morning. The sausage eggs and cheese pie was very good. Friendly staff.
Great pit stop for a pick me up coffee or for a light snack, pastry or meat pie! Helpful staff and a great respite from exploring downtown.
Great shop! Alena was so wonderful! (Even tho it was closing time!) ️
Great coffee! We even grabbed the last sweet potato pie to go! Can’t wait to try it! Looks yummy!
From a kiwi's perspective the pies are good, could do with gravy versus tomato based sauce for the meat pie. The pastry was really good. Iced coffees were great.
Coffee was delicious. Staff was warm and welcoming. They also listened to my order and got it correct. One of the few coffee shops open at 6: 30 am on a Sunday in St. Augustine - and if you’re staying downtown, a short jaunt. Thank goodness for The Kook!
Very delicious coffee! The Aussie is more bitter while the Honey Badger was sweeter. Both very good and highly recommended! Staff was friendly and welcoming!
The seating area was a little odd because there was no music, so it felt like you had to be very quiet.
I'll keep this simple. The pies are tasty, the coffee was rich and delicious. And the peach scone was SO GOOD. Would definitely recommend
Good tasting coffee and friendly owners. Very decent prices and the atmosphere is attractive. Always a good time when we visit.
