The Laurels Apartment Homes, Fort Myers FL

If I were writing this a year ago this would have been 5 starts. The complex changes ownership and sadly not for the better. The A/C has been out in my apartment 7-8 weekends and there is a serious delay in what they call Emergency Service Calls. I was very happy with the former company and never had issues. This new company leaves a lot to be desired. Thankfully we have purchased a home and will not be living here anymore. The people who live in the community are pleasant and it is a location that works well.

I have been living here for about 2 months now. First moving in we came across some difficulties that was fixed by office in a helpful way. Overall I wish the community was a bit better kept up with. Landscaping is surrounded by an abundance of trees and bushes that look close to dead. Its a little much and can barely walk outside without being attacked by bugs. The pool area has a lot of potential if it was kept up with but everywhere you walk, you’re stepping on things that have fallen off the trees. Needs a sweep and possibly be pressure washed. The walls are VERY thin. Which I was expecting but sounds like people are in your space at times. Not to mention the close to +$400 to rent on trash, electrical, water, & etc. I wouldn’t mind the extra charges and the price of rent if it was a newer space but with creaky stairs, dirty pantry shelves, chipped tile, bad bathtub paint job, dried paint on door handles, and the dried up food splatters left from the old renters that won’t come off, and the dirty/chewed up windows doesn’t justify the cost of living. Everyone who works here though has been very nice, these are just what I’ve noticed about living here. More attention to details would make this a 3 or 4.

The place is beautiful and has beautiful grounds. The maintenance guys are great. But the other lady is right about the water, sewer and garbage charge. 122.00 is a little exorbitant for one person. But other than that, good location; close to everything.

Lived there for 5 years. Would’ve revommended a year ago. Wouldn’t recommend today! Community going down hill. Community needs ALOT of updates.

DON’T LIVE HERE. Way too overpriced for it being so rundown. You’re better off renting from a place with a higher rent but with utilities included in that. This place is a dump. You can see how old the building is with the layers of paint on the cabinets and bathtubs. Makes me feel like my place is dirty all the time with the amount of grime stuck on places that was just painted over. Take care of your residents and make their money worth living here. Stop being so cheap with the updates.

By far the worst! I lived here for 15 months and it was nothing but torture. Walls are extremely thin so be ready to apart of your neighbors drama.neighbors DO NOT respect each other what so ever. The main office is horrible and does nothing to help & extremely rude manners. The workers are very late to helping you and don’t get back to you until maybe 3-5 days later. Overall a very horrible place!

I am very thankful for the new maintenance team. They work hard and showed up after hours and fast! To help with air conditioning.

Worst place to live. They lie about what your rent is going to be plus water charges a month then they increase your bill an average of 30.00 a month when you call to inquire they give you an excuse that it’s an open lease and you share water expenses. ITS HIGHWAY ROBBERY!

Horrible office communication. All of their messages are full and they don’t have an email listed anywhere on the website. You can “send a message” but they won’t get back to you. Very overpriced and right on the edge of a bad area. It’s not uncommon to see homeless people sleeping in the weight room or people partying in the pool at 2 am. Oh but it has a mall so If your 13 you can meet your friends there and walk around aimlessly! That’s a plus!

What a great place! All of the staff from Cheryl, Marla, Kevin, Kurt & Christian - they all make you feel at HOME.

Looks nice but there were roaches. The first weekend that I lived there, I counted 12 roaches. Throughout the year that I lived there, I would see roaches. Management, at least, was responsive with pest control services. Still, I moved out the minute my lease was over.

I am very grateful words can explain i had the worst experience with my last company i rented from and i had 1 day to move from one of there homes infested with rats mold and snakes and and ceilings falling apart and i came to The laurels apartment homes to apply and words cant explain how amazing my experience was from walking into my clean amazing smelling apartment that my little girl calls home know working long hours in the medical field and coming home into a nice clean home is an amazing feeling and peace of mind thanks for all your help Marla katz you rock thanks for taking your time to help me with the leasing process

I have had a really bad experience living here since last August. The neighbors are extremely loud and play loud music at all hours of the day and night. I have had my car vandalized keyed 2 weeks ago and have brought up the fact there are no survellevance cameras on the property and tmanagement does not seem to care to fix the issue. I will be looking at moving out as soon as my lease is up. I do not feel safe and the office staff have gone down hill since Jennifer left. They just do not seem very helpful or caring and seems like they rent to anyone without background checks.

HORRIBLE place! I am Suffering from Bad allergies daily because of the nasty carpets that weren’t cleaned and short of breath. I had To do a very deep cleaning and still

This is a not a safe place to live, Cops are here all the time and you can hear domestic violence often. Anyone I talk to regrets moving in here. There’s trash everywhere because people liter daily. This apartment complex is FAR overpriced for what you get here. In my apartment there has been issues such as bug infestations and more. The amount of space you get for how much they charge is absurd you'd honestly be better off renting a house. There is no privacy, you don't even really have a separated front or back porch to sit outside, and I'm convinced one of the maintenance people threw away one of my plants this morning! The pool is not heated so even when it's 90 degrees outside, the water is freezing and there are no lights in it, so it's almost a hazard to be around at night but that area is the only real recreational area considering there are no porches/patios on these "apartments" and then more recently they began charging residents for water in addition to their rent and it was brought to my attention that the water bill is not based on each individual apartment's usage, but all of it put together and then divided among the current residents, also the pool and it's maintenance is more than likely included in that bill that is being split. Can you imagine the frustration? I'm looking at a new place today. I'd rate it zero stars if I could.

Great community with a perfect location to mall movies and everything, the town houses are beautiful and the office staff takes care of you 100% super professional

This place is the worst place to live. BUGS. MOLD SHOWING THROW WALLS. POOL IS DISGUSTING. MANAGEMENT THE VERY POOREST EXCUSE OF PEOPLE WHO CARE. AND THEY ROB YOU BLIND WITH EXTRA CHARGES. TO PAY ON TOP OF A VARIABLE (NOT FIXED) RENT RATE.stay far away from this 50 year old apartment complex.unless all you want are headaches. I feel sorry for all the seniors they lie too that you see constantly moving in and moving out

Thankful to work with Jennifer in the leasing office. She is super nice and helpful with everything. It's nice to have someone there to help when you need it.
