The Nine at Tallahassee

Regarding Rent Plus - How dare “The Nine” take advantage of unexpecting students by opting them into a useless product that they can get for free. Clearly, this is a greedy money grab by a corporation seeking to suck nine dollars per month out of the pockets of thousands of poor college students nationwide. Where are the class action lawyers when we need them!

ALERT: The Nine FORCES kids to enroll in RentPlus for $8.95 A MONTH and the kid then has to jump through hoops to Opt out of this unwanted service. The Nine hides this charge on page 28 of a 44 page single space lease. The RentPlus product of reporting your rent payment to a credit agency is actually free. You do not need this service for over $100 a year. All credit agencies provide this service for free but the NINE forces kids to buy this service. DO NOT FALL FOR IT. OPT OUT IMMEDIATELY. Spread the word. Complain! It is not the role of the NINE to help kids build credit. The NINE is doing it ONLY to generate money for themselves by hiding nonsense expenses. Responding by saying "you can opt out" is not reasonable or appropriate. The NINE must stop forcing kids to buy product they can get for free.

One word: ROACHES. It’s been an ongoing infestation since move-in day, and management has not been responsive at all. This is not “luxury, ” it’s disgusting.

Paying my third year of rent on time, get the new payment Aug 1 and it’s up almost 40%. My son signed the lease late but we had a family emergency. Not one person will get back to us or respond to fix the rent. Pay on time and you get it shoved you know where.

My experience has been anything but positive while moving in here, they never did any maintenance in between tenants nor even look at the condition of the apartment when i moved in. There was still belongings of past tenants in the unit so it felt like I was moving in to someone else's apartment. There was no maintenance done no cleaning like there was promised, having to send my own money to clean up after the past tenants, The floor is chipped and stained and and there was obvious water damage with no sign of management fixing this issue, the paint is chipping and the apartment smells like mildew and like someone died in the apartment, that cant be removed even after scrubbing the floors and cleaning it still smells and I cant find the source. The applianced are damaged stained and disgusting, including a moldy washer and dishwasher. I asked management what there plan was with the floors and they have yet any to anything to fix this issue. I am paying over $1000 for this unit for it to be completely run down and disgusting. Security there is none the doors and key fobs to enter the building and use the elevators are useless and there for show anyone can enter the building with ease with or without key fobs. WARNING IT MAY BE GLAMOUROUS BUT IN REALITY YOU ARE ONLY PAYING FOR THE LOCATION! ITS A GLORIFIED FRAT HOUSE! PARENTS BEWARE!

DO NOT LIVE HERE! It has been my second year living here and there is nothing good about this place. There are better options to live in Collegetown. The location is good, but besides that, there’s nothing special. A month after a lightning strike, I still don’t have WIFI nor lights in my apartment! On top of that, the lights in the halls don’t work and the hallways constantly reek of trash. The elevator fobs don’t work so anyone can get into our building and the parking garage creaks when you drive up and down the floors. They advertise their security, but they don’t do anything! Maintenance is also slow! And my apartment is infested with cockroaches! MORAL OF THE STORY, DONT LET YOUR KID LIVE HERE!

Building is disgusting. Just moved daughter in and it looks like they havent cleaned or painted the building in 10 years. Come to find out the building is just a few years old. Way over priced

I love living at the Nine because of the amenities, and the location! It’s perfect walking to and from class everyday. I also love the quality of housing we have, much nicer than other places around campus.
