The Ocean Grill (At The Setai, Miami Beach)

That's the place I take my out of town guests to impress them. Fantastic food and ambience.

Excellent restaurant overlooking the beach. The food and service here is top-class. The yellowfin tuna tartare is outstanding…. And try the wagyu beef. The location is wonderful as you can watch the world go by on the boardwalk. Totally recommend this spot …. But be warned it’s really difficult to get a reservation during the day or night…. So book in advance.

Update: This is still my favorite restaurant in Miami by a country mile.

Very nice atmosphere! Our starters (Wagyu Carpaccio & Artichokes) were good. The mushroom and truffle risotto was horrible. The bone-in ribeye tasted good. The potato gratin that I had ordered as a side dish was charred and the potatoes were not cooked through despite the burnt surface. Therefore it is not recommended despite the great ambience

Simply the best of the best in South Beach! Food is mouthwatering perfect for a date night!

One grumpy world hating manager or waiter was so rude and abnoxious. It was a hot sunny day and the guy refused to give my dog a small bowl of water off the property. Not even on the property! Just a bitter horrible man

Beautiful, staff was amazing, food was perfect! I highly recommend the truffle pizza! Lobster was done perfectly asks our steaks! Beautiful job!

Nice location with mediocre food and subpar value for money. Three from our party of 6 received their food lukewarm, three cold. Restaurant exchanged the cold food, but if we spend that much money at a restaurant for food that should not happen.
Portions are small and the quality of the food was average. Two stars for the nice location directly at the beach, but there are so many better restaurants with an equally nice view. Don't waste your time and money by going here.

We had two salads and two filet migion.
The salads were okay.
Unfortunately, the doneness of my steak was completely missed. Ordered: well
Done - received: Rare.
After the complaint I received the same steak from which I had already cut a raw piece. So far so good, not too bad. However, the doneness level ordered was still not correct. Maximum medium rare.
I still ate it because of the long wait.
The highlight, however, was my colleague's cappuccino after dinner.
The edge of the cup was still covered in lipstick, so it wasn't cleaned properly.
The horrified waiter immediately took the cappuccino away and brought a replacement minutes later. When asked if it was a new cappuccino, the waiter (a little older, gray hair, slightly stout) assured me “but of course”.
Unfortunately, you could still see some lipstick on the top edge, the waiter's statement was a simple and cheeky lie. Not only was it the same cup and the same cappuccino, no, the waiter was incapable of cleaning the cup properly. Absolute no go and a complete disgrace for a hotel restaurant right on the doorstep
Miami Beach.

When anyone asks for recommendations, I always tell them how much I dislike the service of this place and to avoid it. Long story short, guys can dress casual and wear nice shoes but guys with nice open toe shoes dressed well can't get in. Then when asking to sit in the back on the beach, they said no reservations needed and to come back in an hour when it opened. We waited since, went to the back and was told no seating available.
I tried to give them another chance, and my cup and fork were dirty. Staff once again incredibly bad. Never coming here and telling everyone else not to. It's quite sad because the interior is nice. Beach side seating would've been nice, but again the time we went after being advised to wait, we were turned away.

Great spot on the beach and food was wonderful! Chilean See bass, truffle risotto and veggies shared was a perfect mix of food! Service was stellar.

The menu is limited but the food is excellent. Terrific wine list. Wonderful views. Great service. Expensive but worth it.

During my recent visit to this establishment, we ordered a cappuccino and were surprised to find it served in a cup with clear lipstick marks. Even more concerning, when we requested a fresh cup, the replacement also had lipstick remnants. My steak order wasn't cooked to my specification either; I asked for it medium but it arrived very rare, and even after sending it back, it came unchanged. The staff's unfriendly and almost aggressive response when we pointed out these issues was very off-putting. While the location is undoubtedly great, the food and service were a letdown. I usually don't write reviews, but this experience compelled me to share. I definitely won't be returning.

Visited Ocean Grill with high expectations given its reputation. While the atmosphere was truly impeccable, 5/5 in that department, the food and service were merely adequate. The Caesar salad seemed hastily prepared with whole lettuce stalks. Both the salmon and the branzino were lackluster in flavor. The ribeye, ordered medium rare, was decent but not memorable. Sides were a letdown: steak fries were undercooked and the mashed potatoes tasted as if they came from a box. At this price point, I expected more finesse in the culinary offerings.
