The Retreat at Gainesville reviews
16I have nothing to complain about the marine center is always quick and Ethan Wilson at the front desk always helps me out when I need something.
Great place to live with great management and friendly & helpful staff— especially Jordan J.at the front desk!
Best place ever to live on the whole entire earth.they also have the best workers ever, my personal favorite is jordan.
This would be a 3 star because of slower maintenance times, cheaper furniture, and outdated dishwasher/washer/dryer for the price I paid. However management is great. Specifically, Ethan Wilson who works in the office there was always on top of things, ready to fix problems. He always had an answer to my questions and generally helpful all around.
Maintenance is terrible and will not replace or repair anything. Live somewhere else for the price. In the house that I am in, I noted that we had a broken dishwasher the week that I moved in in the room inspection. It is August and the dish washer has not been place even AFTER a maintenance member came in, inspected and said that it needs to be replaced. The lights in the fan do not work when I turn the light switch on and so I put in a maintenance request. 3 MONTHS later, nothing. I am glad I have a lamp. There is no lighting in the hall either and doorbell is broken. Maintenance is well aware because my roommates and I have put in several request but they keep deleting them. They cant be that busy when they lounge around all day. If they are not fixing problems around the property, then what are they doing all day? Also the front desk randomly closes early. Guess management is going to the dump here and its out of control. I would not recommend living here and I have signed a lease somewhere else for the next year.
Poor management and terrible maintenance. Only student employees are present during office hours. Every issue is met with an excuse. Our cable has been out for a month. Live somewhere else for the price. I get the impression management couldn't care less.
Our cabinets fell off the walls for the first two months before maintenance came to fix it.
Rent can only be payed with an online service that charges a "convenience fee" so tack on another $250 per year. It's anything but a convenience. There's always issues. Technically, an alternate form of payment without the fee must be provided under Florida law.
What's happening to ur internet!
Can't use every night!
I post this for 2 mins then I switch to my mobile data.
Great place to live. Very comfortable for the price. 3 stars only because of management - they will fine you with absolutely anything to make an extra buck! Their residents are not valued much.
We have black mold in our apartment and put in a maintenance request over two weeks ago to have it fixed - no one has stopped by yet. Wifi was out for 5 days and a/c out for one
10/1 - maintenance came by to change the air filter - will see if it solves the mold problem
10/20 - Utilities are through simplebills which charge 65/year just for setup. Apparently we spent $220 in Oct so far on just electricity?
Thank you sooooo much to the residents who helped me today I was in an accident today and my dog jump out the car because he was scared they helped me look for him for like 4 hours im so thankful for each and everyone of you guys
The retreat has a lot of potential. I lived there for all 4 years of college and I really enjoyed how spacious it was and the pool area was nice (when we got to use it) However, the houses are made very cheaply and there significant wear and tear on a lot of the units. This wouldn't be a problem if management was cooperative and didn't charge you for every mark that is there when you move out (even the ones that were there before)
Management takes 5-10 to answer and isn't very helpful.
The amenities are great and staff is very nice. Sometimes issues could be dealt with faster and fees could be reduced for returning leasers. For example we automatically got charged for “expected” utility usage this July because it was move out but we were not moving out and never spend as much as they charged us on a normal month.
I’m moving to Gainesville in December from the suburbs of chicago, so finding apartments have been really hard (especially virtually). After working with multiple apartments in the area, I came across the retreat. I was able to speak with Tony, and he was super helpful with the apartment searches! He offered to give me a virtual tour of the property, and eventually I found my future home. They have great customer service here, and really seem to put the residents best interest first. I cannot wait to move in!
Nice place to live but nothing close to livable right now for students. The internet is atrocious and I can’t even do my homework for any of my classes at my home. It’s very disappointing and not up to par with the price it costs to stay here. Internet has been down for the entire complex almost since the start of the semester
Awesome staff. Tony Cortez did an amazing job of accommodating my roommates and I after a broken AC ran up our electric bill. Also huge thanks to the maintenance crew for being very attentive and even working after hours to fix a flooded bathroom.
