I stayed at the Salvation Army with my two children, one who had a disability. They made no accommodations for us, infact when my child was triggered by noise made in the dining room area, which would cause him to run. We where written up and told if this continued to happen we would have to leave. Also my children we constantly verably abused and harassment by my roommate, which was documented, she received a warning but I was told if I couldn't work it out with her, my family and I would have to leave. Basically I was told to put up or shut up. I request a room transfer and was told they did not do that. I'm telling you my story or some of it, because as I have witnessed they organization has alot of influence in the community and get alot of promotion. And ask for alot of donations. I need you to hear me on this one. Most of your donations are going to the staff and is being given to them by the shelter coordinator, they are not going to the homeless, infact they are charging the homeless to stay in thier facility 10 dollars a day of 30%of what they earn. Which ever is less. This is per family per individual. This place in Orlando is more about profit then anything else hiding under the blanket of Jesus Christ. If you have money or clothes please give it to the Poeple who need it or an organization that will actually help the people they claim to in the name of God. Instead of explot the already broken️.

If you don't "fit" into their "program" you have to settle for one night at a time. You have to be there at 4pm for intake. You can have their dinner but you can't leave the building once you're checked in. In the morning you can have their breakfast. All the one nighters have to be out of the building by 7am with all of their belongings. Also all one nighters are required to help in the kitchen to clean up the dishes after each meal. Lights are out at 10pm. Lights are on at 6am.

I use to stay on the cold overnights. They expect you to clean up and help with the kitchen chores like loading and unloading the dishwasher, and dry the food trays, and other dishes that are washed. It is a warm safe place to stay on cold overnights.

They have the BEST "STUFF" lol, & deals there. I was looking for bar- stools & they had 2 nice brand new, gorgeous barstools w/the back on them & they wanted $15 a piece & I got them both for $20.

Very dissatisfied with the drivers attitude. Saddened that this wonderful organization has become one that people don't answer the phone, and that this seems is the only way to communicate with them. They have gotten off message.

First, I am not "James Spencer". I am his widow.
I have been waiting all day for a scheduled pick up. They could not give me a time ~ and I understand that.
It's now almost 6pm.
I will probably never call them for pick up of donations again.
I have a LOT of gently used items ~ and some almost new ~ that I needed to donate. If I knew anyone with a truck I would have taken them to Goodwill.
PS They should have my number ~ they asked for it when I filled out the form.
Very disappointed.

Wow, I read the hateful reviews and wonder about their perspectives. The Salvation Army was wonderful to me and helped me through a very difficult time. Since they helped me over 7 years ago, I only give to them. I asked them about their stance on gays and I get a very different picture than the other people who have posted. I can't speak about those situations, but can tell you how wonderful they were to me and my family.

I will never donate to the Salvation Army. They are Haters of Gay People Take you money elsewhere. There are to many discriminators in this world I wish them bankrupted.

I worked hard for this place for seventh years the administration and directors are crooks. Peoples donations are taken to other locations and sold. They use money andy products andy merchandise for personal gain and I am dedicated to exsposing this fraud organization and what they really do. Andrew kelly and company.
