The Salvation Army Family Store reviews
6THEY NEVER PICK UP THE PHONE! Mailbox says it's full ever time as well. Just trying to call to see if they're accepting donations before I drive more than 20min out of my way to find out they still are Not, again.
Glad to see this location reopened. They had been closed for some time, I think remodeling. They always have a good selection of products. I saw an item I was interested in but thought it was a little steep. I asked the cashier and she went into the back to speak with the manager, came back out and said how about half off. I was thrilled. They are willing to work with you especially if they've had the item for a while, just ask them. Excellent employees and very friendly environment.
It's a decent store and when they have their sales the prices are okay, but things are priced pretty high and almost retail in most cases. It seems like when they have a 50% off day they jack up the prices 50%. It's a shame since it's all donated.
The other thing is they closed their bathrooms to the public. It now has a permanent out of order sign on it. I have bladder issues and can't really shop if I can't use the toilet while I'm shopping.
The bathrooms have been reopened, but there isn't any soap or paper towels. In the age of Covid you would think they would at least provide a way to wash your hands after using the restroom. Just poor management I guess. They were very surly with me when I suggested they put soap and paper towels in the bathroom.
Love to go there and browse around.never know what you might find.they do alot for our community.always ready to help when I can. Barbara started this store over 30 years ago.the girls try to keep the store nice.pleasant.parents keep your kids in tow.always need newspaper.take some in when you gohelp support our community
They have gone downhill. Their items are more retailish now and their prices reflect the same. You used to be able to walk in there and find good jewelry, good clothing, good paintings and other things that you could resell but now they let all of their volunteers get first pick off of all the donations that come in the back so the Shoppers don't get to get any good stuff anymore. Won't be shopping here again for quite a while because every time I go in there it's the same stuff
To be honest, I always kind of thought their prices were a little steep at times, but they were hosting a 50% off sale and I gladly purchased many items including a large set of chairs. During check out the ladies were very helpful, patient, and efficient, also informing us that they allowed 3 days for large purchases to be taken home which truly helped us immensely. I would recommend it.
