The Soho Backyard reviews
16Best bar in Tampa! Period! The owners are all fantastic people, the food is amazing, all of the staff are super friendly, and as soon as you get out of your car and walk in you feel at home. 6 out of 5 stars
Owner took too long to bring out tacos, smh. Promised its on the house but charged it still after a 45 minute wait. Argued with me on the phone, despicable.
Whenever I am in Tampa, I make sure I hit this spot. The food is delicious and they always have a lot of different options, so you can take a group there and everyone can be happy. The cook often whips up a special. The patio is really great!
The bartenders there are awesome. Jeff especially makes you feel welcome and always makes your drinks the way you want them!
The owner is also a server/bartender & will CALL YOUR PHONE when you don't tip him 20% which is not even legal to begin with. Very unprofessional.
Decent amount of shared parking with dedicated Soho Backyard parking spaces (limited). SoHo Backyard is off the beaten path tucked away from the mayhem but very much still in the thick of it. This local hangout no frills bar has beer, wine spirits and a decent cocktail menu list. Spirit selection has all the common varieties you would expect.
Although not a “dive bar” to say definitely a more welcoming friendly atmosphere, with the patrons not trying to impress, still very much trendy and hip just not that pretentious feel at all - just a cool be yourself hangout.
Plenty of bar-top seating with table seating in their main space area. Outdoor seating and indoor/outdoor bar as well. Cocktails average $12.00-$13.50 and my Old Fashion with Bullitt Rye was executed perfectly.
They have a full menu with appealing entrée’s (your typical bar food)
Bar staff were inviting, friendly and engaging, Adam our server was friendly and helpful. Looking to get away from the “look at me” typical South Tampa hangouts? This is your place then!
Great food for a good price. The Bartender was attentive and prompt. Highly recommend the tips and sprouts
We had a great time! Food and vibes were great. The Buffalo cauliflower would be the only dish we do not recommend but the fries, flatbread, boiled peanuts and chicken sandwich top tier.
I live down the road from backyard and love their food. I just had the worst experience from what may be a newer server or bartender because I go often and never have bad service until tonight. I just called to pick up 50 wings - pretty expensive at that! The guy on the phone was rude, arrogant, and honestly nothing I usually see here. I cancelled my order and will not be going back for a while.
After he told me to “call back later” kept cutting my off on the phone, and his whole demeanor was nothing that will bring business back. Pretty upset as this was a staple in my rotation of food places.
This bar is the most worst ever poor customer service no communication at all with the customer I’m giving a one star for the next year Staff not friendly at all they make you work for them the manager literally said they don’t have waitresses but have multiple tables and serve food I don’t get it
The bacon wrapped figs were good. The beverages were mediocre at best. I'm gluten free and had limited options to choose from.
Food is amazing! I had the goat cheese stuffed figs and steak tips. Drinks were on point and service
Was great! I highly recommend and will be back to sample more of this menu.
The pictures that are hanging of the old town is historic. You think it is just bar food but it is far from it.
Stopped in for the bloody Marys and stayed for the appetizers! The brussel sprouts were the best ones we've had, glazed in a sweet Thai chili sauce. The bacon wrapped goat cheese figs were to die for and the sweet potato fries were delicious.
3 of us went in over the weekend, not to busy. I remember all of us telling the server what we wanted AT THE SAME TIME. But meals came out 1 at a time. Like 1 dish- person finished, 2nd dish, the other person finished and finally when the 2 were done, mine came out. It was the strangest thing. Why go out to eat with people if you're going to end up eating alone and feeling rushed because they're already done.
Great urban bar feel. The place feels like home. The drinks, food and staff make it feel like a special treat. The bacon/goat cheese/dates were awesome but all the food was excellent. Didn't know it existed, but I will be a frequent visitor now!
