Tigertail Beach Public Parking, Hernando Drive, Marco Island, FL reviews
10First time there, it was nice, clean, just a lengthy walk to get there. Beautiful romantic place for the sunset!
We chose to walk around the lagoon rather than the short cut through the lagoon. Either way, once you get to the Gulf side beach the vistas are amazing and pristine. Shelling is especially good at Tigertail Beach. Concession stand was not open, but the public washrooms are nice.
Huge white sand beach. The beach is separated from the parking lot by a big lagoon. Bring some water since it is about a half mile walk to the beach. There is a nice opservation tower overlooking the Lagoon near the main entrance.
Be careful for the beach, park in the second parking lot then expect to walk 20 minutes ;-) bring a cooler! Lots of shells. The water is cloudy, waves, warm.but it's relaxing) plan to wash your swimsuits when you get back ;-)
Positive: $10 parking fee for the whole day, you can't complain about that. Very nice lady in the parking garage who explains where to go. Attention: no cash payment possible!
To get to the beach you should park as far back as possible. Then you have to walk about 1.5 km long.in the heat of Florida that's quite a challenge. A mostly empty white sandy beach awaits you.
Unfortunately there are no shaded areas, showers or toilets.
There are showers and toilets near the parking garage. Not quite optimal.
On the left you can see many umbrellas and loungers. However, you are not allowed to go there as a vacationer, only as a resident of Naples. Visitors are probably sent away quite unkindly by security. I couldn't find any information signs about this.
Nice wide beach, but it's over a half mile walk to the Gulf of Mexico.plus there are no restrooms or concession areas there.they're both back by the parking lot.
Horrible long mile walk to the beach with a lots of bugs near the lagoon and stepping on little crabs and broken shells. We took our beach cart on the handicap access and there were two steps to walk down, absolutely ridiculous this is considered handicap accessible. This is the only parking lot aside from the very small South beach parking that Collier county non-Marco Island residents have access to. A huge disappointment for Naples residents. I am sticking to Naples beaches from now on.
Long hike to the ocean but very beautiful walking along the beach you can head to more private areas on foot just north of tigertail beach
One of the best beaches you could go to. And it's more than a beach, there is a lagoon which is an estuary and the home of unique wildlife species. You will see lots of jumping fish in the lagoon. There is a very large parking lot with ample spaces available, I doubt if it ever fills up all the way. If you are coming here just for the beach and want to skip the lagoon, be sure to go to the very end of the parking lot so you don't have to walk so far to the ocean. Once you get to the ocean, you can walk down the beach for miles and it's pristine nature, many people enjoy this more than the developed areas. It's also a great place for finding sea shells and sand dollars. One downside is that once you leave the parking lot to go to the beach, there are no bathrooms or trash cans available, so be sure to use the bathroom before going to the beach and take any trash you generate back with you. Parking is free for residents of Collier county but otherwise it will cost you $10 a day.
