Tokyo Japanese Steak House & Sushi Bar, Pensacola FL

My favorite Japanese restaurant to date. I used to work here over 18 years ago when I was a student and the kitchen was kept spotless. You can tell the place is clean and good when staff would go out of their way to eat here on their days off.

Highly recommend their sashimi martini and the pepper tuna. They have the BEST pepper tuna in all of the US. No one comes close! Hibachi is fresh and delicious. I still miss working there from time to time - the staff has always been so FUN and dynamic!

Amazing, the staff was nice, professional, and quick. Our chef was amazing. He was entertaining. My 3 yr old grandson was mezerise by his talents. The and hibachi were divine. You must try the bacon log. You won't regret it

Got seated at the grill for 20 minutes and had others sushi brought out only to be told the table had already been closed and wanted us to wait again

Tokyo is always entertaining when I dine. Although my steak was cooked a little too well and the rice was burnt.my party and I still enjoyed ourselves

Be careful on the bogo sake nights, I didn't drink at all, and they lied about what they gave my partner bc I was keeping track. Won't ever be going back here, there's plenty of other asian restaurants with WAY BETTER service.:)

We go here all the time and sit at Sushi bar. It's been perfect every time! Thank you for being part of the neighborhood

Ended up going here for a birthday party and will be my last time. Our party of 11 waited 2 hours before being seated. There were several parties being seated before us that arrived after us. Every time we asked how long it would be, we kept getting different timeframes. Then, once we eventually sat down, I ordered the shrimp steak and chicken hibachi (chef’s special) which runs about $32. There were two other people besides me that ordered steak as well. The cook prepared three steaks for the 3 of us that ordered steak. For some reason, the cook decides I should only have a few pieces of steak and chicken so the two other people who ordered a steak and chicken hibachi should have majority of the meat leftover. My entree was actually more $$ than theirs however I definitely felt short changed vs what I actually paid for. Will not be going back!

My significant other and I ordered the Hibachi Chicken, and it was delicious! This was really neat place-loved watching the chef cook N prepare all of the veggies & meats too. Overall, our party of 4 people were all satisfied

We had a large group, drinks took a while to arrive, food was on point and a good show. Very generous portions and priced well. It the drinks had arrived on time it would have been a perfect time. Our server was excellent, seems the bar had an attitude.

We absolutely LOVE this place! We have been going here for the longest, and we are NEVER disappointed! They have the best sushi in town. The food is great with an amazing atmosphere! We would definitely recommend this place to have some amazing food, great service, and a perfect family night out. Friendly, attentive staff. We love Tokyo!

My best friend wanted to go here for sushi on her birthday and I'm so glad she did! Wonderful customer service and delicious food in a comfortable atmosphere. We've been back once a week almost every week since. It's outstanding.

Roaches everywhere left and write and manager didn’t even care this place needs to be closed down if you come to Pensacola and looking for a hibachi place DO NOT COME HERE

Made Christmas Day reservations on 12/11, confirmed reservations on 12/15. I received message on Christmas Day at 12: 35 that they are closed today-Christmas. Bad business

Been going to this place for a few years now. Drove all the way from Navarre on new year's eve. Called before I left to see if I can make a reservation the person on the phone said "No". Got there around 5: 30 PM they told us the wait was 30 mins. An hour after we put our names on the wait list we asked about the status. Apparently they skipped over us and was sitting peoe that got there after us. They said they'll sit us at the next table. Next table opened up and they sitted a party of 9 and told us that they had reservations lol. Almost 2 hours waiting we had to gave up and went to Shan kishi japanese Hibachi in gulf breeze and ended loving it.

There is no better place for hibachi. Filet and chicken is my go to but everything is done to perfection. Big space with different rooms and options to accommodate parties of all sizes.

Used to LOVE this place & ate there often. However, after ordering take-out this week, I will NOT be returning, EVER! I ordered the Shrimp Fried Rice. Even though I picked it up Thursday at 7 pm, I bought it to have for lunch the following day at 11 am. I was home & had it in the fridge within 10 minutes & it remained there until 11: 15 am. Heated it in the microwave, went to cut up my shrimp & it was slimy & had a whitish-looking coating on it. Did the smell test & eww, it was clearly no-good. It had a soured smell to it. Called Tokyo to explain & asked if I could come in & have them make me a new one. The manager said NO, because he doesn't know what happened to it once it left with me. If I had called the night b4, then maybe the outcome would be different.
WHAT? I even volunteered to bring the food back
so he could smell & see it for himself. And also to prove that I wasn't just out trying to get a free meal. He still refused. Didn't offer me a discount, a free dessert, a free beverage, a REFUND. NOTHING!

The hibachi was delicious! I got the filet, chicken and shrimp. I think the chicken was my favorite, but all 3 were good. The sushi was ok.probably won't order sushi again.

Food was delicious and the chef was very funny. Only negative thing I can think of is that the cocktails seemed to be lacking in alcohol for the price. Still would recommend to anyone looking for a great little hibachi restaurant in northern Pensacola.
