17Went for breakfast today and was extremely disappointed! Food looked to be leftover that were reheated…I asked for toasted bagel with butter and it came out burnt and hard. I am a foodie and eat out all the time and this by far has been the worst experience in a very, very long time. The corn beef hash was def reheated, full of grease and almost burnt like.the potatoes were cold as well. We did not want to argue so we just asked for our bill, paid and left without eating. Went to Mcdonald’s instead and got a nice fresh hot meal. Crazy!
The food is pretty consistent. This was a tough day for us to have been there. They were understaffed and the restaurant was pretty busy. Our server warned us ahead of time. That was very smart of her to do since she set up proper expectations. We were in no rush so we didn't mind the delay. There were other people walking out because either they were not warned or they just got fed up with the wait. They missed out
Not sure why there are so many iffy reviews on this restaurant. My family and I dined here a week ago and everything was beyond our expectations. It was a Thursday, late afternoon, we pretty much had the place to ourselves. It's quite a roomy restaurant. Nick, our server, was very pleasant and attentive. He provided us with top notch service. We ordered the mini potato pancakes for starters and I had a cup of matzo ball soup. All delicious. There were 8 pancakes and everyone enjoyed them. Two of us had wraps which were very fresh. I had the turkey avocado. It was yum. Avocado was beautifully green and perfect. Turkey was so good.not anything like another reviewer described. They were great size wraps too. Two others had the corned beef on rye which was also excellent. One had the patty melt and fries which he enjoyed. We couldn't say one bad thing about this place. Lots of sandwiches, salads and entrees to choose from. I would recommend it if you're looking for a decent casual meal. If you want quicker service maybe try it on a weekday later in the afternoon. They will be ready and waiting!
Called in an order. Was asked to hold, he had to get a pen. Ordered 2 pastrami on rye and and onion rings. He asks if I want it hot or cold. I said how else would I want it, hot ofcourse. He said some people want it cold. Who wants a cold pastrami sandwich? So, I know it's going in the microwave, gross. Should have just said forget it right then and there. Husband went to pick up order 10 minutes later and the order wasn't ready. He said there wasn't not 1 customer in the place and order not done. That's a big red flag. He left and went and got Chinese. That's what happens when you let kids run your business.
If you go to tooJays, deli and bakery be sure to have the potato knish?
Service was excellent. Food was delicious.
We had the worst service from Jack today, he wasn’t probably having a good day, we don’t know. However, food was terrible as well, grilled cheese looked like “sh$&t” another of their own waiters say it himself. Fries had to go back to the kitchen, they were old and soft. Bathrooms look terrible… it went from bad to worse. Make yourself a favor and don’t even loose your time and money in this place. A total disaster
Came here twice in last month and they run out of bagels and cream cheese both times. Never been to any other restaurant that’s runs out of items.
Spent almost 2 hours for awful service and cold food. Server Marshall never refilled the drinks gave me someone else's food and then tried giving me food that was already on someone else's table. And was trying to refuse to give me back my change trying to get $12 tip on awful service.
Felt taken advantage of here. The 13.99 turkey sandwich was pathetic. We had asked for them to do a hot Turkey sandwich. They microwaved they turkey with the bread and it was soggy as could be. Very disappointed: (as you can see from the photos the sandwich is lacking.
Usually love me some Toojay’s deli but not today! Brought my older parents for lunch, the waiter screwed the order up and pretty much disappeared. 1 of 3 sandwiches was wrong, no fries, skimpy sides. Not what we come to expect from Toojay’s. Had to get the Manager just to get our order.
First time, Stopped in after the mall for lunch, very dirty tables, and floors.
I had a tuna melt, bread hard.advised the cleaning lady, I switched tables.
Advised the manager on my way out, she acted like she did not care. I WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN, HAVE HAD ACID REFLEX SINCE? Waste of money.
Always a good place to go for a nice meal. Our waitress was nice and efficient. I recommend this restaurant.
Little expensive but if you want an authentic taste of NYC down in FL - it’s the place to go.
Delicious rugelach! We did takeout and we're very pleased with how everything was packaged.
Barbara Straus complained you didn't package the soup properly and a lot of it spilled out. You asked her to give you another chance. If you knew how to run a restaurant, you'd have offered her a free quart of soup.
I’m sorry to give you a bad review BUT WHY IS THERE CELERY IN THE EGG SALAD? I’ve eaten here many many times and it’s never had celery. I couldn’t figure out why it tasted bad. Ugh! Don’t mess with a good thing if you like people frequenting your establishment. It runined my sandwich!
TooJay's is a staple. It's simply delicious, I've been going here for 15 years, and it's just like family. You know what you're getting, and there are no surprises. Who doesn't like pastrami on rye?
