Tortuga Tavern reviews
15Doesn't accept mobile order. Waited nearly an hour for a hot dog. Found out the "chef" lost my order, when they called out a number 5 orders later. The counter girl had them make it and still waited another 10 minutes for me to get them to put an already made hot dog into a bun. Don't bother wasting your time.
Tortuga Tavern always seems to be closed a lot, but when it's open it's a good place to stop for a quick bite in Adventureland.
Chips were soggy and the chicken just was over sauced and didn’t taste good. The coke was the best part of the meal.
DO NOT EAT AT THIS RESTAURANT IF YOU WANT CHICKEN. When I went there with my friends some and them wanted chicken and THEY COMPLETELY RAN OUT. But the funny thing was is that they did have the chicken sitting out and it was ready and they also ran out of sauce. And they didn't even want the sauce but they didn't even give us the chicken so we were just sitting there for 45 min just for the food.
Don't get the Veranda Teriyaki Burger! The burger is low quality at best, lathered in a sweet teriyaki sauce (also not that great) with a miniature onion ring and (also tiny) pineapple ring.all on top of a sub-par hamburger bun. Nothing to get excited about here, unless you realize you paid over $13 for it. Also came with chips that were not "fresh"
Food was pretty terrible. Chicken tenders in very sweet sauce. Like super sweet polynesian sauce.best to tell them leave the sauce off and use the hot sauce packets available.but all our chicken bathed in that terrible sauce.burger was subpar.avoid.
The worst food i ever eat in my life and lady at front desk i was asking if chicken strips has any sauce on it she said NO.aftet food was paid i got chicken tender with honey sauce on top, what is wrong with this peoples not everyone can eat what they're trying to sell. My both kids have allergies from any sauce. Trying to get my money back before touching they're food and they're saying i can throw in trash if i don't like it. Better to sue this place then order they're food. Very disappointed of this place!
Horrible food. I had the teriyaki burger that was supposed to have pineapple and onion. It showed up without pineapple. I was told they didn't have it. The burger tasted like what I thought the rat burger on Demolition Man would taste like. It was grey with some sauce that was supposed to compliment the pineapple that was supposed to be sweet. Horrible food, chips were chewy and unsalted
We decided not to spend any money on food in the park the rest of the day. Worst "meal" I've had in a while.
Well it lives up to its name.
Sorta.
It's definitely slow so it's got the turtle part down.
But there's no beer period so it utterly fails at being a tavern.
Although after Covid this place was not open, we found great refuge here during the incredibly hot days. We grabbed a dole whip treat and came and sat here in the shade.
Great food. Honestly though, I wish it was as wild as the movies showed but it wasn’t. Sadly I feel it could have been more wild. The problem with that is the children. Children are the reason Walt Disney World is so big. They are the main consumers. Not that I’m blaming them for anything, It’s just that you can’t have children and actual pirates in the same place.
The brisket is good, but they don't top the hot dog up with too much of it. Brisket sandwich should be the better choice.
Turkey Leg is the main reason for coming here. Would go really well with an iced cold beer! They used to have the turkey leg at Hollywood studios (where you could enjoy it with a beer), but they told me it's no longer available in Hollywood studios. If the tavern is closed, you can still get the turkey leg from Pecos Bill.
Tortunga Tavern equals yummmmm! We had the Turkey Leg, Ropa Vieja and all beef hotdogs w/ the homemade chips. And they were just incredible! Where the heck does Disney find their beef hot dogs- because I have never had a hot dog as good as the ones at magic kingdom? ! The Ropa Vieja alone takes the cake as it was simply seasoned and cooked perfectly. Again, Turkey legs at Disney are also on whole another ballpark. One of our favorite food experiences at magic kingdom and I highly recommend it!
The brisket sandwich was good but the Turkey leg ways amazing it tasted the delicious. It also fed all 3 of my kids and my husband and I got to eat the leftovers when they got full. So the Turkey lag is worth the cost.
