TradeWinds Italian Restaurant, Niceville FL

A few weeks ago I had dinner with the family at Tradewinds (Niceville) everything was very good, the only downside was the filet dish (sirloin) with risotto and prawns.in the risotto there were pieces of potato, something that totally clashes.everything else very delicious.

Amazing! Great food again and again.don't forget a reservation or you might be gently mocked by the host lol.

A wonderful meal. Had a bad experience nearby so called for last minute availability. David answered and let me know there was one table available on the porch, we rushed over. Had incredible service from our server Melody. Great bread, salad, specials, and an anniversary dessert. Saved our special day. Thanks Tradewinds!

I have only been to TradeWinds a few times but every time I left satisfied and happy. It has very close seating and some might not enjoy that but its something I like, makes it feel cozy and like you were at a family members house. Portions were generous and of course the food was delicious. Will be going back again soon.

Fantastic Italian fare! They have a great menu to offer. I personally recommend the lasagna or cheese ravioli. We love their sauce. It’s a perfect balance of savory and sweet- the best we have found locally. The bread is to die for and the Italian Cream cake and Tiramisu are the best around for hundreds of miles. I only gave them a 4 for atmosphere because it’s noisy in the dining room- but they do offer outside air conditioner seating too. We truly look forward to eating their but be sure to make reservations ahead by calling them. They have limited hours and you MUST have a reservation BUT it’s worth it!

I want to congratulate you for reading this review because it will take you to the #1 restaurant in town, hands down, no questions asked. We are locals and have been coming to Tradewinds for quite a few years now. It has been a long time coming for us to take a breather and leave them this well deserved review. From the moment we call to make the reservation, they treat us as family. They already know who we are and the table we prefer and do their best to accommodate us. We are self-appointed foodies, having eaten in hundredths of restaurants across the U. S and Puerto Rico. By far, Tradewinds always happens to deliver the most memorable experience for us. With a different take in their featured plates daily, surprise will be a factor you’ll experience each visit. The mussels are an exceptional favorite and their bistecca plate will leave you wondering if you’ve actually tasted real steak before. The pizzas are mouthwatering and pretty much every plate in their repertoire is a win. The service is beyond 5-star in my honest opinion. The warmth and authenticity of each employee is the pinnacle of southern hospitality. Every single employee greets us throughout our dining experience, going out of their way to make us feel welcome each visit. You can’t find this anywhere else around here. Please, do not think twice — if you are lucky to get a reservation, head on over to Tradewinds as soon as you can.

The food is outstanding. The sauces taste exceptional. The place is a bit rustic but the atmosphere is authentic.

The place is a shack, but often shacks have the best food. Seafood pasta bowl was excellent, as was the veal picatta. Parking is a bit limited and the chairs leave a bit to be desired. The food was great.

The food was just ok this time. I was wondering if it was just the choice I made, I had the sausage and penne pasta. I just didn't think it was very favorable as I expected.

Just had one of the best service experiences of my life at Tradewinds. Christian was attentive, but not overly so; knowledgeable about the menu; and made sure to review everyone's order before leaving the table! Superb.

I also recommend the pizza.add (3 or 4) eggs. Trust me.

One of my favorite restaurants in the area! Everything on the menu is amazing. The bread that starts the whole meal sets the tone with its fresh baked crusty and soft perfection. Make a reservation!

My wife and I were in town for a funeral and was looking for somewhere to get a good pizza. It was Friday night and packed crazy which obviously shows how high in demand this place is. In spite of not having a reservation, they were able to seat us at their bar right next to the kitchen. We wound up with dinner and show. The chefs were running that place like a well-oiled machine. The food was fantastic, the service was top notch and they were very friendly and welcoming for us out of town guests. We had such a good time that we will be back again to this area just so we can get some more of this amazing food. BTW, the cannoli's were made fresh to order and the tiramisu was fantastic. A definite must try when in Destin, Ft. Walton, Niceville area. Best kept secret.

This place is a hidden little gem. We didn't have reservations but there were two seats available at the bar. The host kindly seated us and we enjoyed what may be the best meal we've had together. We had never been here before, but we will certainly be back. Christian was a wonderful server and attended to all of our needs flawlessly. The kitchen staff even acknowledged us as we were leaving and thank us for coming in. The benefit of sitting at the bar was that we got to see all of the delicious food coming out of the kitchen. Their kitchen runs like a well-oiled machine! Can't wait to try something else from their delicious menu!

Had the Blackened Fettuccine Alfredo. Was very bland and salty! My dinner guest had the Meatballs & Pasta. Turns out it's just 1 meatball, 1/2 order, and some Pene noodles. Sauce looked and tasted straight from a Huntz tomatoe sauce can, and the meatball was SO bland. If you're eating here for "status" I can understand that cause it's definitely not the food. Wait staff was quick and attentive.

Bread oil dip would be regular, not with red pepper flakes. That's the only thing the rest was awesome

Updated: I will not be adjusting my 3 star rating after having gotten reservations and eaten there.the service was decent but for the hype (reservations weeks in advance) the food was mediocre. We won't be back.

Plan to make reservations at least a week in advance. We tried two weeks in a row to eat there while in town and they weren't taking any "walk ins" for either weekend and no reservations available for either weekend. Disappointed.

Tradewinds has been an important part of our family and friend celebrations for many years. George, Cheri and their staff are awesome (so is the food and service)!

What an amazing place to eat. Absolutely everything I had was delicious. The only thing that I have to say could be improved is the size of the parking is horrible. It is absolutely worth squeezing into a parking spot to enjoy amazing food and a staff that actually cares. Love this place and I will definitely be returning.

Traveling for work, eavesdropping on a conversation on the plane. Tradewinds is only minutes from the airport. The smell of the food cooking in this smallish restaurant made me anticipate my meal. I ordered Mediterraneo, a seafood and pasta dish the server recommended. It was amazing! Great service and atmosphere. I sat at a small bar overlooking the kitchen. A must try if you're anywhere near this restaurant.
