Trek Behavioral Services / Acorn Health reviews
7Sitting here at Trek Behavioral Services while waiting for my kid assessment to be done. I've been listening to a therapist interact with kid and the amount of positive encouragement and praise I hear is impressive. When a correction is needed is done with a nice tone, love and patience. I am really looking forward for my daughter to learn more and more for train therapists. This place is nice and spacious. Love the environment. You really can feel the energy and good vibe of this place.
I have been at Trek Behavioral Services for almost 3 years now. I love my job so much and am excited to go to work every day! It is a friendly and fun work environment where all employees are very welcoming.
Each child is assigned to a lead analyst (either a BCBA, BCaBA, or an RBT that is currently in progress of earning their degrees in Behavioral Analysis) to ensure programs and goals are updated consistently, parent meetings are performed and supervision is provided. Each and every therapist truly cares about the children they work with and strive to see skills and targets advance. We often celebrate children’s milestones together and are so proud of the progress they make daily! Trek has been a blessing in my life and I am so grateful for the experiences I have had and how I have grown in this job. I would not want to be anywhere else!
Moved from another state to work for this agency as a lead therapist. A huge mistake. The lead therapists and lead BCaBA are very unprofessional. They form clicks and target people for bullying. I experienced harassment on a daily basis. The owners are kind people but have their favorites and when these favorites tantrum, they get their way. Felt like a high school environment, do not work here. In addition, RBTs create programs, don’t know if that’s ethical but I wouldn’t want my child exposed to a clinical program created by a RBT and not a clinician.
After over a year of leaving this facility, I was asked to leave a review. So although it is a little late, I'm sure it's still applicable.
Amy and Carrie (directors) are kind hearted and love watching their facility grow. The kids that I serviced were amazing to work with, and formed friendships with one another due to the way the group sessions were set up. The other therapists that I worked with always worked as a team and I made lifelong friends because of it. I was so sad leaving, but knew I had to do it to grow.
I've worked at multiple companies, and Trek has had the biggest impact on me thus far. I continue to wish for their growth and impact on the world.
I recommend this behavioral center all of the time. Our family has been greatly impacted by the services that two of their lead therapist provided for us. Our family member is now completing his studies at Polk State. I can't stress the importance of behavioral therapy enough. Thank you Trek Crew! Keep up the good work!
Newly hired techs were primarily trained by other techs, as opposed to a BCBA or BCaBA. Binders were disorganized and rarely updated by the sole BCBA there. Too many kids in one room for one-on-one therapy to be as effective as possible. To call their billing practices "messy" would be generous. I understand there aren't a lot of options for ABA services in Polk, but if you try to grow your business too quickly, things can, will, and did go downhill quickly.
Even though we were on their waiting list they gave me the number of others who may be able to provide services sooner. They were very professional and did their best to be sure that my children had the services they needed.
