UF Health Leesburg Hospital

By far THE worst inpatient experience I have ever had. Terrible staff communication, minimal patient rounding, nonexistent nursing assessments, and incompetent post surgical care. I would never bring my family to this facility ever again. As a nurse of over 15 yrs I am saddened for my profession and the lack of professionalism displayed in this facility. Not to mention very unprofessional management.

I don't get the low ratings. The staff is first-rate, and the knowledge of the RNs and Doctors was excellent. The bedside manner and attention to detail saved my Dad’s life. Thank you, Bruce, Paul, Millie, and Dr. Carrillo, for giving your best to my father.

I did remove a past review that I had done a few weeks ago. I wish there were a way we could, as consumers, get in touch with others that posted negatively on this horrendous hospital.
The nurse that posted a couple of days ago is someone that I would like to talk with. We both are aware of the safety issues and the unethical behaviors.
Anyway, most of these reviews pointing out the long wait times in the ER for cardiac symptoms and such is VERY concerning. There are even pictures of nurses below that turned down a young patient and walked away from the mother.
The UF Health management should be addressing these concerns.
Patients deserve good and competent care on EVERY single level within this hospital. It does NOT matter what the patient is in for, staff is ethically and professionally obligated to provide the best care.
Many of the nurses and doctors in this hospital are scary, incompetent and should NOT be providing care. I am not afraid to say it.
There are also MANY concerns about fraudulent statements in patient records.
The grievance line and those who are supposed to assist and allow patients to file grievances, DO NOT. Staff has refused some patients the right to visitors, phone calls to call lawyers, therapists and families.
This is seclusion and imprisonment. ILLEGAL.
Is anyone with this company going to admit to the uncaring and high risk behaviors of nurses and doctors? Is the CEO and management aware of the complaints that are made to the patient relations department? And that many of the patient complaints are swept under the rug? They send letters pretty much telling patients that their complaints are either lies or just not important. I have advocated for hundreds of people in the last twenty years and I absolutely cannot believe what is going on behind the doors of this place.
I have proof and someone needs to step up and fix what is happening here. The nurses and doctors that don't care and lie in patient records need to be held accountable. Many consumers from Villages and other surrounding areas have been complaining about this hospital for YEARS and yet, nothing is changing. Wake up!

Their best feature is the food. Over 1/2 of their staff don't want 2 B bothered. I asked 4 a probiotic 3 times I was told the Dr had 2 order it & she would say something, did I get it. NO. Dr Veera is the laziest doc ever. He unwrapped my wound & left me like that & Nobody knew. He also forgot 2 order my meds, they had 2 track him down. After I had already been discharged. When it came to my discharge Dr Veera told me that Nick would be taking care of my discharge, Dr Nick told me it was up to Dr Vera. No onehen IbI was not given proper instructions just told to keep imy feetwrapped until I saw my doc which was3days away. THAT WAS A MAJOR FAILURE 1 WOUND got worse& Dr Nick wants to do surgery now.

Don't ever come to this hospital if you are having an emergency especially at night! My friend was bleeding from her trake and they had her on a gurney wheezing and bleeding in a hallway full of nurses that was playing around and laughing while she's wheezing and bleeding from her trake. Then she was in a room and nobody was seeing her. They was supposed to suction her trake for the 2nd time and nobody has came to do it. She's been waiting for over an hour. I was here over a week ago because I had trouble breathing I had to wait for at least 4 hours to be seen then they tried to prescribe me medication without checking my blood work or anything! I had to go to a different hospital for treatment so if you don't want to die then don't come here or if you don't want to wait for hours to save your life don't come here. They are all just a big joke and a waste of time! I said what I said!

The slowest hospital to get ANY tests done. I think this is a way to charge more money to insurance! I know it was not this way until U of F took over!

Heather the ER nurse when the only good part of our experience!
Let’s start out with I called as my husband had a seizure an slammed his head into shower tract I called as we were getting on road to let them know we were on our way an to find out if they needed anything prior I didn’t catch the name for who answered but they said oh they’re not here drop them off in lobby
Arrive check in was good heather really took the time to verify our concerns an was very emphatic an made necessary concerns for medication as well as recommended emergency medicine as my husband had a eight minute seizure
Waited in the room for a little bit we were understanding we were going to be waiting a while only to have a random nurse walk in with yeah you’re going to be here a while
Doctor came to check in didn’t have any concerns on head injury/8minute time frame husband asked about head injury an was told “I think you’ll be fine” an then was told “let’s get you on the road” please advise on how you present yourself around the people you are treating also the check in nurse playing on Facebook as we left was it my last straw

I went in last night I was treated so poorly and the nurses are horrible I got there at 12am they got me in the back the nurse that was about to draw my blood had gloves on that she touched the trash with I had to ask her to change them. I sat from 12am until 6: 25am never saw the Doctor I asked how much longer because I wasn't feeling well the nurse told me she couldn't tell me that all she can say is it's by how critical someone is and I feel like that's not right because we all come to the E. R if we are sick not just because we bored with nothing to do.

I would like to say that ER nurses Lee Lisa and Alysha took care of me and my mom on three different occasions within the last month and they were awesome. The nurses on the third floor once my mom got admitted Shonda Patrick, Cassandra Orr, and Maria were awesome. We couldn’t have asked for better nurses. They were great!

Mom went in for catheterization. Hospital in general was cold but the outpatient staging area was an unbelievable 61°. Pure misery for
my mom, the other patients and family members. One of the staff has on a wool scarf and was wearing a blanket at her desk. Staging rooms don’t have chairs for family members to wait with their loved ones, and granted, space is unnecessarily tight. Meanwhile, family is milking around and patient remains stirred up instead of resting. Michelle, Darlene and Kathy were quite wonderful. Tina not so much. She’s a “barker” and seems to be a smug authority on just about everything. I’m watching her as we speak tend to my mother while chewing a mouth full of food. Mom has to have another procedure soon. Hope it’s not here. Would not recommend.

Filthy hospital, incompetent doctors, and inept, apathetic employees with zero skills. Third-world medical clinics are superior!

There isn't anyone here with sufficient training at any acceptable level of expertise.how were they able to receive legitimate certification to serve in any medical capacity?

As their gross ineptitude endangers lives of patients, staff at UF Health Leesburg shouldn't be allowed near anyone in need of qualified medical assistance.

The so-called 'doctors', nurses, and everyone else 'working' here - are hateful, callous, downright sadistic bullies, with no idea about how to even apply a band-aid, much less appropriately tend to victims of accidents and illness who are unfortunate enough to be brought to this unconscionably disgusting, shamefully inadequate facility.

No attempt is made to ensure even modicum sanitary hygienic standards.

University of Florida Health (Gainesville) used to be highly-regarded, but UF Leesburg Hospital is proof that is no longer the case.

Where are state and federal regulators?

I can't believe that I just went to the hospital with my 14-year-old daughter, she is not in good health, they told me that they could not care for my daughter because there was no space, I told her that if they could give me her name, they turned their backs on me and They indicated that they could not, the first time I go to a hospital and they tell me that there is no space and there are only 5 nurses on duty.they should hire more staff and not be so inhumane and more so with a minor I feel so frustrated with what happened

This was the best hospital stay I have ever had. Staff was great, courteous, friendly. Karen and Justin Rn's were fantastic. The staff made the stay very comfortable. Not sure where the complaints are coming from but i dont see anything wrong with this facility. Highly recommend

We have been sitting in the waiting room for almost 8.5 hours. My brother has a big blood clot in his leg. His Dr.sent us over with the paperwork stating an urgent situation.

Flew all the way down from north carolina to visit my mom in the ICU.nurses there we amazing, attentive, answered my questions kindly and were not irritated.had the best experience and was glad she was in their care.when she passed the nurses that were routinely taking care of her on her shifts gave me a hug.will always be grateful for them.

Nearly 12 hours later, my 75 year old diabetic mother and I are released. Saw the doctor for 2 minutes about 30 minutes before we left. Horrendous. Unreasonable. Definitely filing a complaint. Not that they'll do anything about it. Who the hell is running this place? !
