While me and a business associate of mine were having lunch my vehicle was towed. My associate walked down the street at the traffic light to scan the area due to our work entailment of getting signed petitions in order to get a better view of Daytona beach. I, the owner of the vehicle was still on the property smoking a cigarette when roughly 15 minutes goes by and my associate approaches me to say that my car has been towed while I was still on the private property. We contacted the towing company and was told in order to get the car back we had to pay for it. Unfortunately we didn't have much funds already as this was why we are working in the area to make due like any other honest working person. After being told by the police that the discretion of the tow was put under the Burger King's manager, we spoke to said manager and he claimed there was no protocol concerning a patrons car being towed while they were still on said private property. After pleading for help from a family member we were fortunately able to pay to get the car back and in our discretion we feel as if this event was unlawful and immoral. I highly advise NOT visiting this Burger King or Daytona Beach for that matter so that honest working civilians don't end up getting their only transportation towed and taken from them. This cost 160$ plus the 12$ uber ride to the nearest yard. I have my receipts and time stamps this all occured. I plan on contacting corporate to get this matter addressed professionally as the manager on duty claimed to have nothing to do with any of it. Stating they show up whenever they want.

By far and away the WORST tow company I’ve ever had the displeasure of using. Universal came into a private, gated community & took cars off homeowners that they didn’t have permission to take (they signed a written contract with the HOA/Management company stating they are not ‘at will’ towing). Had to pay $160 to get my car back along with 4-5 other highly distressed homeowners (who coincidentally have got their money back).
Our HOA/Development sent them recorded letters stating they had broke the SIGNED contract and had no right to do so, in taking peoples cars. They requested they pay back the homeowners who’s car they took WITHOUT PERMISSION. All this just to make a quick buck out of honest people. This amounts to PREDATORY TOWING.
The HOA have fired this tow company for our development as a direct result of what they’ve done.
I’ve attached the letter sent to the tow company to show anyone thinking of hiring this company that they are crooked. This will go into an envelope for my litigation along with the contract they signed with our HOA.

I’ve exhausted all avenues to try and recover my money by visiting them & speaking with the manager (Bruce) but have not had success of what is an open and shut case.

My lawyer has been briefed on this matter and will be initiating proceedings in the court system to try and recover my money.

EDIT - my home has NEVER received a letter about car parking issues. You have the WRONG HOME (again). My next door neighbour was a HABITUAL offender who got the tow company of previous fired as he was friends with them and they wouldn’t tow his car. So not only are you wrong once, you’re wrong twice.
As the owner of a company who (I would hope) wants to fix this, you can call me to discuss it. I am a totally innocent party in this whole situation.

They were great, friendly, courteous and fast. We had company in town and needed trailer fixed fast so we could go fishing, they rushed it and we were out fishing that same afternoon. Thanks guys!

Total scam. Towed our car in burger king parking lot while we are inside. Then tried to charge over the legal amount towing price but saying there was an extra “40$ service fee”.

Fast, knowledgeable and helpful. Will definitely recommend to friends and family. We used them twice in one week. Another tow tried to lie on them. We proved them wrong. Keep up the good work guys!

My boyfriends car was parked at our resort like its been for the past four days/nights and was towed with a parking permit from the resort we asked to show the man and he refused.we had to take a cab in a city we dont know much about to get our car.when we got there it was raining i asked if we could go in the office he said no to stand closer to the gate but there isnt a over hang so i didnt understand.the tower stated he was the person who towed the car and asked if we were from daytona.we answered no and he looked at use rudely as if we were lying and asked why we had a wedgewood parking pass but that wasnt any of his concern we are seeing family.our cab driver told us about the cash only we didnt know about on the way there also and thank god because we had pay 160.00 $ when it was only 6pm for' afterhours '. Before he went to open the gate his young child ran out talking about something which was really dangerous for the child as a tower also unprofessional for the company oh yeah and my boyfriend and i are still standing in the rain.he guy who dealt with us just wasnt helpful and rude and we just wanted to
better understand and he just didnt care only wanted our 160.00$

Ricky Powell is AWESOME! If it wasn't for his quick thinking & can do attitude we would have been swept out to sea! The tide was coming in, the sun was going down we were literally thinking our truck was gone! Our battery died on the beach and Ricky came out worked extremely fast, got us hooked up and towed us out! We cannot thank him enough for what he did! God Bless!

Bought a bike from them and they were very nice. Helped me with getting it registered. I'll be back again to do business

Money money money. They will make up charges even after they told you price! Tool my son an amount couples hours later told me the same amount.get there.they charge me a TRANSFER fee! $35 extra! They lied and ripped me off! (I got there before next day fees.they made this up because I called a different tow company to take car to mechanic)

Was told on the phone would be 151 to get my car out of the lot by the front desk staff. Got here and was told 186 and that they misquoted us. The pricing does not make sense at all and it would be nice to be told the right price the first time.

Catfish went above and beyond to ease the pain of our experience. I want to thank him for his assistance that night.

I'm not rating them 2 stars out of anger but out of the fact that some of my belongings were stolen from my vehicle while it was there. As well as my back windshield was busted out. They did try to put some type of plastic wrap on it but didn't seem like they put much effort into making it so it covered the whole open area, which led to water damage to my vehicle. Only reason I didn't give one start was because they were willing to work out a cash price for me and save me some money to get my vehicle back before it went into auction. For that I am grateful.

I was at work and a guy came in a said he's towing a yellow car from the lot. He said it's been parked there for weeks. Also said it's here all the time late at night. Turns out it was my car that I just showed up in. The scout as I call them drive around looking for cars to tow. He lied and said it's been parked for weeks. Once he realized it was my car he tried to back pedal. This company is a scam. Trying to tow an employees car. Lying about the whole thing. DO NOT USE FOR ANYTHING! Read all these bad reviews. This place is horrible. If you need a good tow company I've used Lucky's a few times always a good experience. Also I've heard good things about Buddy's towing.

UPDATE! I just received a response from the owner. He wanted to know why I'm upset. The reason is they had no reason what so ever to even be looking at my car let alone threatening to tow it. I'm an employee of the company! Also the driver stated my car was an abandoned vehicle. I just drove it to work that morning. That's why I'm upset. After this incident you spoke with the owner and he told you not to tow or attempt to tow any cars from his parking lot. Apparently it's not just me who thinks this company is a scam. Look at all the negative reviews you have. I'll be contacting the BBB about you as well. FYI the parking lot is under 24/7 video surveillance. I make sure I park directly under the camera.

The tow truck driver James I had was super awesome he was careful to go out of his way to get my lowerd car on the wrecker with out tearing up my lip or exhaust! Thanks!
