There are many people need assistance and ssa is short staffed since the pandemic. There can be considerable wait time and getting appointment is extremely difficult. The st lucie office does give appointments but they are scheduling out as far as 45 days, meaning if you call today your appointment will be in may not next week. Wait time in the office are between 30 minutes and 3 hours depending on what time you arrive. Also please don't not bring food or drink, they are not allowed in the lobby.

The worst.you would think with everything going on in our country the government would have one printer work in there office. NOPE.we're in a lot of trouble guys if the people who run our country can't work a printer.hour and a half so far waiting for 3 papers to be printed. GOOD JOB GUYS YOU SHOULD BE PROUD OF YOURSELF!

The young man who helped me enroll in Part B was fantastic! He told me exactly what paperwork I needed to complete. I was able to make an appointment for the following Monday to see him again once I had the form filled out by the HR director at my husband's company, so I didn't need to wait in line again. And he called me as soon as I officially enrolled. He is truly a lifesaver! Thank you so much!

But for the amount of time spent on the phone trying to reach a live person at the Port St. Lucie location, I can't say enough about the two customer service reps that did eventually help me; the first being a Mrs. Jenkins at the Gainesville office to whom calls were being forwarded from the Port St Lucie office and who researched the status of my online Medicare application and to make the SSA had everything needed to process it. Since all that was needed was my proof of citizenship, she suggested just going to the Port St. Lucie office with the documentation and not waiting to receive a letter requesting it. In following her advice, I went in without an appointment and surprisingly only had to wait for a half hour before being seen by Karen, who proceeded to review and process my application right away. I must say that I had completely prepared myself to expect the stereotypical bureaucrat treatment. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised and impressed to work with two these ladies who were extremely professional, efficient and genuinely cared about helping their customers.

I was helped by Mr. Chevry, he was very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly, I'm sure he has a big case load but he took the time to help answer all my questions. I wish everyone working in SSI and Disability was like him. Thank you for all your help Mr. Chevry you are truly a shining example of how other workers in these departments should be.

Nice staff. I got there at 3: 30 pm, I didn't have an appointment and I was done around 4: 15 pm. People have to wear a mask and they provide it.

They leave you on hold forever, the phone rings again and instead of someone picking up the phone, they disconnect you!
They need more people and people with knowledge of their jobs!

Had to wait on the phone for 20 minutes, but with everything the way it is in the world right now, it's not their fault. They are working with minimal staff and trying to help everyone on the phone. I can't even begin to imagine the harassment they have to deal with. When I got a live person, the poor woman sounded harried, so I joked with her and we had a very pleasant 5 minute conversation.

Would give them a negative 5 stars if possible can't enter without an appointment, can't make an appointment online for this office, call the phone number provided and put on hold continuously until they arbitrarily decide that we're not important enough and hang up on us with no words whatsoever.

It’s a shame Port Saint Lucie social security administration does not do good job on handling people’s needs for their service. First waiting on phone line for more than 2 hours while phone keeps on ringing. Second when you finally get of hold of someone they trying to rush you to hang up. Third not having knowledge on how system works. Apparently a passport with a legal US permanent resident stamp is not enough you need a resident card. What a joke. What are they doing with our money they need to hire more staff.

The Port Saint Lucie Social Security Office is staffed with arrogant condescending workers. As an advocate for seniors I’ve experienced this first hand.
