US Social Security Administration, Leesburg FL

Every single time I've had to deal with a person from the local office in Leesburg in the 2 years I've been here they have been rude and nasty. They have a God complex and think they can just talk down to you and what are you going to do about it cause what are you going to do about it? They'll just find another reason to stop your benefits and you're just a number in the system. They do not care if your rent is paid or if you have utilities or groceries all they want to do is hurry up and get off of the phone. It's damn ridiculous. Every single time I have to send in paperwork it's always something. They lost 34 pages of documents. Twice. So I had to print it all out and mail it all in a third time. They always "update" your information but they've been calling my old number for a year now as many times as I have updated it. They update your account information but your benefits continue to go in the wrong account then it's up to you to get them into the right account because somebody in their office forgot to push a button. They send you second notices after you didn't get a first notice and threaten to stop your benefits because they've been calling the wrong number. Almost every notice I get says do this right now or we're stopping your benefits but then even when you do what they ask it's always something else. I've never had to deal with a more incompetent miserable nasty group of people. I receive benefits for my kids and stay stressed over all of the notices and things that they need. They can see when I start a job and I'm paying taxes but can't see that I hadn't worked in 3 months. I guess it's whatever is convenient for them. I feel sorry for anybody elderly or anybody disabled trying to do this on their own. It's a damn disgrace.

The staff is great. Very professional. Jimmy the security guard will keep you in line and laughing all at the same time. If I could give six stars for this specific office I would.

I just wanted to take a brief moment to acknowledge a wonderful lady at the Leesburg Social Security office, I hope she doesn't mind my using her name in a review, her name is (Mrs Robinson) and should be recognized for the absolutely fantastic job she does at Social Security, Mrs Robinson took the time to explain the survivor benefits that I was entitled to when my wife passed away, and helped me to set up my retirement benefits for Social Security at the same time she asked me to bring two simple documents to her at the Social Security office for some verifications and lo and behold I had Social Security benefits going into my bank account in under 10 days God bless her and the job she does there, Mrs Robinson has set the bar for every employee there to try to meet, my entire experience with the Social Security office was painless, seamless and simple thanks to Mrs Robinson

Had a great experience with the staff. The security guard Jemmy was also great, talked to him and was very nice. He kept the bums and the homeless out of the bathroom to take a bath.
I felt very safe with him there. Never felt threatened, and when he was looking at his phone he was still very observant of the in's and out's of the room.

Having too many problems with a case worker named MANNY! When I've called and asked him if he's gotten a certain paper in the mail, he'll say I got it. Then when I've called again to ask about that same paper, he'll say I haven't received it. After he just told me he looked at that certain paper. I've had several problems with this Manny worker. Too much to explain. I've tried calling the regular SS number, and the wait time is at least an hour. I can't wait until I do NOT have to talk to MANNY anymore!

Security guard in this office said that he speaks 4 languages, English, Spanish, jiu jitsu and gun, did not get close to see what is his name, my visit was on 10/27/23 at 1pm
Not sure if this is to threaten and intimidate people waiting or just having fun, does not seem like it. Looks like it is intimidation. It is uncomfortable to feel threatened in a government facility

Was expecting to be here all day because of the other reviews… was pleasantly surprised that I was in and out in an hour with taking a number, checking-in, and doing the name change process after my wedding. Staff was very friendly.

I talked with Brian at the office today, he was extremely helpful and explained all details to me. I am not sure why anyone would not give this facility 5 stars.they were fantastic! Thank you Brian for your excellent service!

PHONE SERVICE IS TERRIBLE KEPT GIVING ME APPOINTMENTS WEEKS OUT THEN NEVER CALL AND THEN WHEN I FINALLY TALK TO SOMEONE ALL THE INFORMATION THAT WAS READ TO ME INCLUDING THE STATE I LIVE IN WAS WRONG THEN WAS HUNG UP ON AFTER WAITING 45 MINUTES EVERY SINGLE PHONE INTERACTION WOULD BE RATED 0 IF I COULD

Just got off the phone with someone named “josh” who hung up on me after asking to speak with his supervisor. He was extremely rude and demeaning through the entire process.

We was in and out less than 30 minutes today.go all my questions answered. Very nice people working there.

While waiting for our appointment today we witnessed the security guard, Jimmy, playing on his phone the whole time. Many people came in and out and he was extremely rude to everyone.
However, the office folks were awesome. The wait time was shorter than expected and got everything resolved in one trip.

In and out in half an hour without an appointment. Leaving a 5-star review to bring up the average.

The attention to the people is truly excellent, the friendly security guard helps a lot in terms of the language and process and the ticket offices are fast and give you solutions and information about what you need.

Be prepared to wait and wait. Staff is Very punctual with getting customers served expediently as possible.

Walked in with no appointment, we were seen in 15 minutes. All the staff were courteous, professional, and helpful. We were able to submit forms. Smooth visit, pleasantly surprised.

With covid involved they are open sometimes sometimes you have to go up there and they'll be slightly open you just have to take the number down waste your time mass and money and go call the number and make an appointment then go back up there again they're not too friendly they seem miserable but what do you expect with our government these days living paycheck to paycheck and clipping coupons to survive til the end of the month? They are little speedier than usual so I get from that bathroom is nonexistent really good luck and I'll pray for you
