Fair warning to anyone wondering if they should come here, read the reviews first. After getting to Atlantic Ave at 7: 30 on a Saturday, the restaurant we wanted to go to was packed. Not wanting to wait 45 minutes, my fiancé and I decided to go to Vic & Angelo’s because we remember it being a pleasant experience years back when we had gone.

Where to start. The service was nothing to write home about. Our waiter had not the greatest attitude and wasn’t super attentive to our needs. No big deal, as I thought the food could’ve made up for it. I was poorly mistaken. We ordered the coal oven chicken wings, the parmigiana di melanzane, and the quattro formaggi tortellini.

The wings were a 3/10. There were 10 for $18. They were super dry and lacked flavor, and the only redeeming qualities were the char from the oven and the onions on top, which ended up covering a majority of the wings and made the skin no longer crispy. If you see these and think of Anthony’s Coal Fired wings like we did, I wouldn’t go for it. The fried eggplant was okay, maybe a 5/10. Better tasting than the wings but still disappointing for $18. The portion size of it was fine, but again, it was lacking in flavor. Finally, the tortellini were the only saving grace from this meal. I’m a huge fan of pear and cheese filling, and they nailed the filling. The pasta was made well, and the sauce tasted great but was a little grainy, not smooth. Was happy to pay $26 for it, would rate it an 8/10 and I would recommend those if you decide to come here.

Overall, I felt foolish spending $80 here after tip for mediocre food at best. Our check didn’t include any alcohol or dessert. Just two apps and an entree. There are so many options on the Ave and this was super disappointing. For the same price, I could go to Josie’s off Woolbright and get a very similar meal that tastes great. While I recognize things change, the food and service were not what we remembered and I wouldn’t recommend coming here.

This place has fallen off since the last time I visited a year ago. We got an app, salad, and entrees which were all disappointing. The wine was the best part of our dinner. Service was average. Food was subpar. There are so many better options on the Ave for what you pay for/get here.

3 stars only because both their service and food are 100% inconsistent. When it’s good, it’s very good. Their pasta fagioli is one of the best I’ve had and they give you an extremely generous portion. Their pizza is hit or miss. Last week was a miss on a simple margherita at the bar, whomever made it dumped half the state of Florida’s allotment of cheese on it, it was inedible just the opposite of what it should have been. This place needs new management

Stay away if you are visiting delray! Average food & terrible service. Their happy hour is advertised 3-7pm half off the entire menu. After we ate our entire average tasting meal with no complaints, we received a bill with everything charged full price despite being there for over an hour and a half & leaving before 7pm. We asked the server about the happy hour and we were told it ended at 5pm … the table next to us who was paying at the same time received half off of everything on their bill for happy hour. We then proceeded to ask the manager about the happy hour deal and he was willing to give us the deal until a man who seemed to be the owner told him no. The presumed owner then began to argue with us that we do not get the happy hour deal and the table next to us only got it “because they are locals”. He continued to explain that he doesn’t understand why he would give us a discount if we didn’t know about the discount (even though we did), aka he wants to get as much money as he can from the tourists. After much back & forth the manager told us he would give us the half off happy hour deal, come to find he only gave us about 15-20% off. If the happy hour deal has certain requirements, they should make that known and not try to scam the tourists. I have never seen an owner with such rude customer service. I (a local) was with people who were visiting and will never be returning.

I was visiting yesterday 5/26/23 during happy hour. The rule is that you have to sit at the bar to get the happy hour prices. We were just going to order from the food menu. Once we sit down and I was ordering a non alcoholic juice, the bartender with the long hair told me I have to leave because the happy hour is only for food and drink. I asked him to let me speak to his manager. He went to find someone who told me to sit at a table in the back because the bar is for drinks and food only. Later it turned out that the person I spoke to was not a manager but an other waiter. I am wondering who is running this place? The bartender guy with the long hair? I would really love to see this bartender fired as it is discriminating against people who don't want to drink. I should not have to make excuses of my reasons, but I was going to a yoga class after food and I chose not to drink that day. I' been at this place many times ordering food and drink as well and they have seen me in the past. Their rules are confusing: sit at the bar if you want happy hour, but don't sit at the bar if you are not getting alcohol.
In any case, when you tell an employee, such as the bartender that you would like to speak to the manager, he should inform the manager and not take the authority and ask one of his waiter friends to act as a manager.

Amazing food accompanied with absolute amazing service by Daniel G. Try the 4 formaggio tortellini with freshly sliced black truffle. Out of this world flavor. Overall great experience with my family, amazing service, and fun lively ambiance! Will be back soon and will be requesting Daniel as our waiter. 5 stars for Vic and Angelo's Delray

Visited for a business meeting. Jackie our server was incredibly nice and accommodating. Unfortunately things went south from there. 1 of our colleagues dinner plate wasn’t placed (steak and veggies). All the food came out except hers. We asked that the food be taken back to the kitchen to keep warm. After a kitchen blunder, the wait staff brought the food BACK out and still no steak dinner. Finally the steak was brought out, but after taking our first bites. 3/8 plates were ice cold. The manager came out and asked what the issue was and we told him, he then told Jackie “This is your fault, i told you it would happen! ” I’m front of our party of 8. Highly unprofessional. Finally they told us that they would “re-fire” the food. Once it was brought back out, i quickly realized they, presumably, nuked it. It was the same exact serving we had moments before. We realized that the food had been nuked, which also compromised the quality of the food as now it was tough and overcooked. Very unprofessional, unsatisfactory experience. I’d like to say I’d give it another shot, but i wouldn’t. The ONLY reason this isn’t a 1 star review is because Jackie our server did everything she could to accommodate us.

Food is trash, and over priced, been on the toilet all night. If you wanna bomb your stomach hit this place up. Also there's leaks in the roof that fall on your 20-30 dollar dishes. Pretty much a scam.

Italian Restaurant Night Club - This was the worst meal I’ve ever had on Atlantic Avenue. The service was slow, the bottle of wine we ordered was sold out, the bread was soggy and lifeless (and took over 30 minutes to get), the pasta was.well… after ordering tagliolini bolognese the waiter serving me affirmed it was “spaghetti”. Italian restaurant or chef boyardee? Everyone else’s pasta was also nothing to write home about, including the seafood pasta special.

Now the ambiance… trains (out of their control) and Thursday night 80s karaoke that was so loud it was hard to hear each other outside.

Upside, people watching and the Caesar salad wasn’t half bad.

Fantastic! The food was REALLY good, they also went above and beyond by making our daughter fettuccine Alfredo which isn't on the menu. It was the best I've ever tasted (I'm not usually a fan) I got the Nonna's Sunday Gravy and was knocked over by how good it was. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Amazing atmosphere, amazing food & large portions, very professional service and they have the best Martinis and freshly ground espresso beans which make their cappuccinos to die for! Ask for Daniel as your server to be treated like family! Must try the pear tortellini with freshly sliced black truffle! One of Delray’s best restaurants! 5 stars

Went here with my wife for a special night. Daniel was a very professional and great server. The experience is great here. Service…awesome. Food…excellent. Ambiance…great (if you don’t mind the train every now and then…we do not). I would give 10 stars if I could!

My mom & I are visiting Florida from NYC, and let me start off by say the WHOLE state of NY is nicer than ANYONE in this restaurant. We got seated right away outside which is what we wanted which was nice. Our waiter came over to take our drink order and then disappeared for 15 minutes, gave us our drinks and took our order. I asked him if the pear was INSIDE of the tortellini he said no it’s on top. When he came back (3rd time in about 30 minutes) we finally had the chance to ask for bread because he was VERY quick to go help or go somewhere else, idk. When we got our food, the food was not what we were expecting at all. The pear was indeed inside of the tortellini despite him telling me it wasn’t, and my mom received some spaghetti dish that she didn’t order. We IMMEDIATELY asked another waiter to grab our waiter for us so we can just get the bill and leave.
Our waiter came and we told him our issues with the dish and asked for the check. He said he would speak to the owner about a discounted price (which we didn’t ask of him, but 1. Thought it was the least they can do and 2. We didn’t eat either plate and 3. I asked how it was prepared before ordering which I wasn’t told how it was actually prepared.)
He came back in about 5 minutes with the check just telling us to have a good day. I don’t understand why he would say he’s going to ask about a discount but didn’t say anything to us after… and yes THE BILL WAS CHARGED FULLY DESPITE WHAT I LISTED BEFORE. Again, I wouldn’t have had an issue if he just didn’t say anything in the first place about a discount. Not even ordering a complementary coffee/tea/dessert ANYTHING. A damn shame. Will NEVER COME BACK HERE

10+ year customer. Things changed in the last few months. Famous garlic bread has been replaced with stale junk; terrible. Chicken parm, which used to be great and a staple in any italian restaurant is terrible with a cheap pizza/round patty replaced the once quality chicken breast. From speaking with staff.new cook, and owner is satisfied making short term $ from seasonal tourists which must eat, than serving quality meals and maintaining local, loyal repeat customers. Sad to report this, used to love the place and would bring out-of-town guests. No more. Good luck keeping staff and customers in the off season when they rely on a good meal.
