The manager really needs to learn to listen and comprehend when an unfortunate situation with personal documents is being explained, instead of just repeating the same thing talking over people. She was mildly rude no help at all had no real solution to fix the issue.

UPDATE:
Stephanie and her team more than rectified our previous experience. She and her team went above and beyond to get us rescheduled, and my son's permit in hand before we left.

What I witnessed in her office yesterday was complete professionalism from all employees, plus everyone seemed to be having a good time while working. That's the way it should be everywhere you go! You can tell that Stephanie runs a tight ship, very organized and most everyone seems to be enjoying what they do.

Needless to say, we left very happy! My son was smiling from ear to ear when she handed him his license! Thank you Stephanie and team from the bottom of our hearts for making this better! It won't be forgotten.

I will start by saying that I had a scheduled appointment for Thursday, 8/10 @ 1: 20pm, for my son to get his learners permit. What was supposed to be a very exciting day for him and myself, changed very quickly while in the Orange City office.

We showed up before our scheduled time, like asked through a text, and we had ALL of our required paperwork. The woman up front couldn't seem to find our reservation that I made on July 27th, but she eventually did and was very nice about it.

We sat down and waited for our number to be called, which was fairly fast. Unfortunately, we were placed at window 14 with Tim. That is where our whole experience and day changed for the worse. I approached the window with a friendly hello and in return all I got was, "Noah? ", from Tim. No eye contact, nothing. Ok, I can move past that. I had a folder with all of Noah's information ready to go. Tim checked it all, asked Noah a few questions and then proceeded to tell me he couldn't find Noah's online course completion in the system. Again, I had everything printed out, just in case something like this happened. Tim could not be bothered to look at any of it. His tone was extremely rude as he was trying to intimidate my 15 year old son by telling him he had to go "re-test" in a seperate room. My son went from being very excited to confused and nervous by the way Tim was speaking to us both.

I tried to inform, Lisa, the supervisor about our experience, and she seemed very unbothered. No apologies, didn't try to rectify the situation, just asked, "well what did he say"? It's not what he was saying, it's how he was saying it. I have never been treated so poorly by someone in customer service. Needless to say, we left empty handed and borderline in tears. Not to mention, I will now have to take more time off of work to go back up there and my son from school.

In Lisa's defense, she was probably caught off guard by me, but there is 100% no excuse for Tim's behavior! His attitude/personality ruined what should have been one of my sons' most exciting experiences so far in life. He has no business working in customer service, at all.

I am aware of the horror stories of the DMV, as I have been many times in my life, but this was beyond anything I have ever experienced.

100% do not recommend the Orange City office!

They were knowledgeable and fast. Not very friendly but that's ok. As long it can get it done quick and efficiently I'm happy.

There should be a Negative in the Star selection because 1 Star is way too Positive. I took time off work, I called ahead several times but kept getting pushed to the Daytona office because Orange won't pick up there phone. I arrive at 4: 02 pm to take care of a title transfer. There were only a hand full of people in the lobby. I told the clerk my business there and she immediately started shaking her head saying no we can't do titles after 4pm. It was 4: 02. I just made it all the way from Orlando thru rush hour to get there. The office is open till 4: 30. Nothing on the website talks about Titles and 4pm cut off. She did ask another Rude, Lazy Government Employee and of course she said we don't do titles after 4. If this were a Business and not a Government Money Grab we are forced to go to it would Out Of Business!

Only gave 4 stars for logistics. You cannot change or cancel appts made online, and if you have made one, you can’t make another one. This was frustrating for me!

As someone who usually makes appts for government agencies to reduce my wait time and to be as efficient as possible, I was pleased with how short the wait was for the ones with no appt- I arrived right upon opening and there was a line outside, but it moved quickly. I would absolutely give 5 stars for the experience as everyone I encountered was so friendly! Especially our specialist, Jen. I would actually look forward to going to this location to see her again. She was so pleasant and kind during the entire process and made it quick. She really brightened up my day!

Can you move any slower.

UPDATE: BIG MISTAKE TO CONSOLIDATE OFFICES.
SINCE THE MOVE. Waiting WORSE THAN BEFORE.

However, 3 stars because the wait was horrific. However, gentlemen up front and women that assisted me were 5 stars!

UPDATE from 5 years ago. Much, much better! Updated their system. Get a number. No waiting inside. They text you when your number is up. You can sit outside or in your car. In and out in a half hour.

I wanted to take the time to mention a very kind employee - Becky Liens- I just suffered the death of my son and had to transfer the tag. I could barely complete the paperwork and Becky was so kind to help me through the process. I am most grateful and was able to complete the necessary transfer. She is a wonderful asset to your business.

Been trying to call for an hour. After being hung up on multiple times, I was finally placed in a que. Sat on hold '6th in line' for 20 minutes only to be hung up on AGAIN. And again. And again. And again.

The line is always out the door. There is a permanent sign that tells you that you probably are not getting helped without an appointment. Make an appointment, it doesn't matter. The staff is full of typical government employees that just simply don't care. Try this, go in and get a number then drive to Tavares (Lake county) tag office, Get your tag work title etc done, have lunch, then drive back to this location and your number still hasn't been called. This place is the absolute worst.

On Monday, Jan 23,2023 @ 0939-I was very pleased with the ease and timeliness of scheduling my appt online w/Vol Cty Tax Col Tag &Title, 2575 S Volusia Ave, Orange City, FL 32763. I was also pleased with the text follow-ups and updates that I received from them during the following days. As per the instructions given me, on Thurs. Jan 26, I arrived well within the early 10 min time frame of my scheduled 1020 appt. Upon my arrival, I spoke to the entrance security personnel who asked me if I had an appt. I responded yes. I followed his instructions to access my text msg from them and press (I do not remember the alphabet) while he explained, this would msg to them my arrival. Then, he told me to sit and that I would have a long wait, because the computer was down and there are people waiting ahead of me. I was very not happy and informed him that when all my correspondences from them were computerized, how is it that I and others like me are now being informed @ a late time, via a horse and buggy era mode type of communication? He shrugged his shoulders and again offered me to wait. I declined his offer and left. In ending, I understand computer crashes, that is what they do. What I don't understand is (in light of those of us who are caretakers and live on a fixed income, yet deal with the agony of high gas prices and haggle with whether we can eat an egg today or not), how is it acceptable that our County offices cannot/do not have an acceptable computerized update system into place to inform that their services are not available to Volusians, especially their most vulnerable throughout our county? My money and time should be just as valuable to our county personnel as it is to the people of Volusia County.

Ed is a big disappointment for the Tag office. He could not answer a title question about a signature. He wanted me to wait in one hour line. Won’t be going back to this office there is plenty others to choose from
