Restaurant Walrus Rodeo reviews
20 Overall experience was truly excellent and shockingly, the highlights of the menu are definitely the vegetable dishes (carrot tartare and cabbage carbonara - trust me, just get them, it’s pretty worth it) and the cocktails. The cocktail list, though short, is thoughtful, unique, and twists on classics that are actually enjoyable and well-executed. Probably the best cocktails I’ve had in a while.
The pizza is passable, but a fun little add to the meal for some casual relief. Otherwise, I don’t think you can go wrong with anything on the menu.
Most, if not all, the wines available are natural wines (yay!)
For two people we ordered 3 dishes and a pizza and were totally stuffed. The main dining room is a little loud and the bar is tight, so definitely enjoyed the privacy and intimacy of the chef’s counter seating.
Overall I think the menu at Walrus Rodeo is more innovative and unique than Boia De, though I hate to compare the two:) the open space at Walrus does make service and overall dining experience way more relaxed though.
Had to cancel, admittedly last minute, because one of our group came down with COVID. I explained that I didn’t want to bring that to their restaurant. They still charged $20 per person cancellation. Next time I’ll just show up and infect all of you clowns.
This place offers unique dishes with artistic flavors and delicate presentations. I highly recommend the gnocchi, which offers a great combination of rich, creamy flavors and fresh greens. Additionally, if you are okay with sweet pizza, the anchovies pizza is worth trying.
We also tried the bone marrow, which had a strong fish taste due to the anchovie sauce. Unfortunately, our party did not enjoy the strong fish taste.
The servers were very knowledgeable about all the ingredients and set a comfortable tone for us to inquire about the dishes. Overall, it was a great experience.
The entire meal was delightful. The service was absolutely amazing. Soto provided world class service and made sure we enjoyed every dish and we did.
Lots of vegan options- don’t miss the carrot tartare and vegan pizza!
The ambiance is casual and cool. Plenty of parking.
We loved this place and will absolutely come back.
A local friend insisted we get dinner here, and I would be remiss not to offer the same advice. The servers were friendly, and the recommended Carrot Tartare was a standout! I also had some Lasagna and the Rodeo Za, and I cannot wait until my next trip so I can come back to try more.
Hands down, the best hospitality and the best food in town! Highly recommend, and I will be going back very soon!
There are few culinary teams doing better things than the Boia De team. So it is no surprise that their sister restaurant, the odd named walrus rodeo, is also doing amazing things. Don’t skip the pizza and the lasagna.
They accommodated our extremely large party of 17 seamlessly. Service was excellent and the food stuck a wonderful balance between adventurous and classically delicious. I happily recommend Walrus Rodeo.
Place is outstanding, great environment, everyone who works there make you feel special, the description of the plates are very detail and the flavor out of this world, every played is inspected by the main chef.
Hidden gem inside a shopping mall strip.
I was blown away by the interior of this restaurant wasnt expecting that at all.
It has such a homey/ trendy feel to it
I was most impressed by the food and drinks uniqueness and flavor.
I wasn’t very hungry so chose 3 dishes with Sean from the bars help.
Carrot tartar OMG… I am a huge veggie fan and even if you aren’t this is a must try dish. It also comes with carrot chips. Abby was awesome and helped mix and explain this one of a kind dish.
Grape, Riccota, pistachio salad. Not a cheese girl at all the mix of these items in a salad was very delicious and satisfying.
Gnocchi. INCREDIBLE. Baked and crisped and the artichoke spinach mix really made it special.
Drinks Sean made we’re all very good and original. Favorite was Spritzameee
Sean was awesome. Make sure to ask for him if you chose to sit at the bar. Thank you for a wonderful first time. I Can’t wait to come back and try the pizza and mushroom dish
GET THE LASAGNA.
2nd must get are the oysters.
Food is inventive, servers are attentive, and bathroom smells great (I think they have a custom scent Le Labo candle?)
The pizza (we had the italiano) was skipable. It was good, but this restaurant really shines with the unique flavor combinations. If it sounds odd, order it.
Location is in a strip mall, very casual atmosphere. You could go here with friends, hungover, on a date, etc. I’d avoid for bachelor parties or big high energy groups, it’s not a high energy Miami place.
Absolutely spectacular! One of my favorite places in Miami… or anywhere. To start, the room is terrific— fun & contemporary. Then, the service is best-in-class; on each of my visits (I’ve dined here 3 or 4 times), the service is highly attentive, from the server’s knowledge of the menu, which changes a bit with the seasons, and frequent (but not too-frequent) check-ins, to the plate clearing between courses, even to the water glass refills. But the food is the real star. It’s a always fresh, delicious and inventive… it’s a ‘wow’. I’ve brought several friends, from NYC and London, to Walrus Rodeo and they also raved about it. Miami is fortunate to have this excellent place right here!
Soto gave us an amazing service, he was very knowledgeable and attentive. The food was fantastic, we had such a great experience! We had the carrot tartar, it’s a must to try if you’re here. Lasaña was delicious, and pizza was great too. Thank you so much!
This place is fantastic. One of the absolute best meals we’ve had in a lonnngggg time and probably the best service we’ve had in Miami. Carrot tartar and the Halibut are two of the best dishes we’ve had all year. A must go.
It was beyond all expectations! Perfection! Amazing ambiance and unbelievable food and service.
Walrus Rodeo is out-of-this-world. Their menu takes you on an adventure through unexpected combinations and everything we ordered was delicious. Plus, the convenience of free parking makes it a stress-free experience. The restaurant's cool ambiance and the trippy bathroom add to its charm. For an unforgettable dining escapade, Walrus Rodeo is the place to be. A must-visit for food enthusiasts!
This place is amazing. Best food in Miami, sophisticated and not expensive.
Service is very high level
I strongly recommend
Diana was great and the food was awesome. Gnocchi, carrot, carbonara, and romaine stood out - but everything was great. Try the cocktail that has candied mango and tastes like sunshine in a glass.
The food is super delicious!
You order everything at once and the kitchen decides in which order you eat.
The service is very friendly!
The drinks are also great.
One of the best dining experiences in Miami in 6 years that I’ve been here, and I’m a foodie from Moscow! Food, drinks, service, atmosphere - everything is 10/10. Fine dining in a casual setting, perfect for a date, family or friends gathering. Get oysters, lasagna and a churro dessert!
