Ward Medical Services, St. Augustine FL

I've used Ward a couple of times now for a wheelchair rental and it has been easy, affordable, and efficient. Definitely recommend and will continue to use in the future!

Was visiting St. Augustine and needed a wheelchair rental. Staff was very friendly when I called and offered to put the chair on hold for me until I could get there. Quality equipment and pricing was fair.

I worked here for around a year. Nobody takes accountability and contradict eachother so much, makes the training so much more complicated. The office manager treats customers like they are dumb, every single day argues with at least onecustomer on phone, and has a weird complex. I'm not sure what she even does other than talk down to people. Be a customer, you'll see in time. Mr.ward is a decent boss. He helped me a lot when I had to miss work due to being a single dad with an autistic son. My only issue with him is he's a pushover when it comes to the manager and it effects all the workers and customers. Also, the missing days made me lose my job because the manager said I didn't ask for the day off the correct way. It was really a power trip issue which was just so weird eapecially since the owner told me if it was a day missed for my son then it was 100 percent ok. After being talked down too for not asking the correct way I said I'd like to put in my two weeks, the office manager yelled good while walking away. Really just unprofessional and her insecurities makes her a miserable person.

I was a great worker and put in effort every single day to be better. They company knows that and so do the customers. The office manager needs training and professional help of this buisness will never shine the way it should and I feel bad for the next employee.

The two women out front are amazing and are very kind. The customers were amazing and I loved them.

Hey Ray, I also used to work at Ward Medical for about 3 1/2 years as a delivery technician. I also helped out in the office when not on deliveries doing things like paperwork, answering the phone, helping customers in the store, etc. While the training is extensive there is just a lot of procedures for keeping customers and employees safe. The office manager is very helpful in resolving customer issues and does a lot more behind the scenes than one might think. Mr. Ward is and was an amazing boss and I never had an issue with getting time off while I was in school or had a family issue aslong as I asked them upfront. They always worked around my schedule and I always found ways to make it back up to them at a later time. I would say the business is really shining being that they win a lot of awards for “The best of St Augustine” because instead of the big medical suppliers they are a local family owned company with tons of amazing repeat customers. I Highly recommend them.

Ward medical is a great place to work filled with people who are more than fair, honest, and respectful both to their customers/ patients as well as their employees. I know this first hand from Mr. Ward and Mrs. Cheryl. They both have helped me and my family when I was in a time of need. Along with doing a lot of the community and local charities. It hurts me to see someone would say otherwise and potentially hurt a local business. To Mr. Ray go work at any big corporation and see how you will be treated. They may advertise having a fair honest and respectful work place. But they will not help you with any day to day problems you may face.

Wow, the timing of the current workers leaving a review after the ex worker left a review. Lol that's so toxic of an owner to inform other employees to jump to defend, Not even the buisness, but a manager lol. Not mature at all. Bad call.

I came here to check the reviews because I planned to purchase an item monday. After seeing these reviews I'll just move forward. Bullet dodged.

Watch the "fine print" with Ward Medical, wanted to deal with a local company and found out that not only is their fulfilment of supplies shipped every 6 months (vs 3 months) for masks and tubing in Jacksonville, they also wanted to surcharge me an extra $100 for the machine that was covered by my insurance. Called my health insurance provider and they said I should have NO additional out of pocket expense. Ordered from the company in Jacksonville and indeed there was NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR AUTOSET (autosensing) CPAP MACHINES. I have reported them to our insurance company.

This place is awesome. Courtney and staff were great. Left my cpap power cord in Ohio. She fixed me right up. Give her big raise

I had a problem with my beach style wheelchair; it wouldn’t open.
I found Ward Medical Supplies and took my chair there to see if they could fix it for me.
They took a look and said they would try right there and then to fix it…a few minutes later he informed what was the issue and he then proceeded to repair my chair. I was surprised at how efficient and kind they were. Kudos to you all for being so caring and super nice. You SAVED MY DAY!

Great place to doe business friendly helpful just all around good experience place to go for home rental equipment if you have an injury or any other medical problem

I went randomly to Ward Medical Services shopping for a CPAP. The doctor sent Ward the prescription for the CPAP and all required records from my sleep related information and studies. I also made sure that Ward had everything they needed.

I completed my initial sleep exam with the sleep doctor approximately 9 months ago. After that, I completed 3 sleep studies. The most recent (in hospital) sleep study was completed 10 days ago. The folks at Ward repeatedly told me that they could not process my CPAP order because "my insurance" needed the initial exam to be completed within the last 6 months. I called my insurance company and spoke with 2 supervisors. They were very clear that what Ward said is absolutely not true. In addition, my insurance company denies any record of contact from Ward Medical. I also discovered that Ward Medical did not follow protocol with the entire process. I have no idea why they would be either so misinformed or possibly up to something else. I would not recommend Ward at all.

Wouldn’t consider going anywhere else for

Ward Medical Services was super helpful when I called looking for tools I needed for a school assignment. The person on the phone answered quickly and I was able to go purchase the items I needed without having to travel out of St. Augustine.

They stayed open late for us to fix a broken wheelchair wheel. Without them we would have been stuck and our vacation ruined. Thank you so much!

I purchased crutches and rented a scooter from them. Service was great. So helpful & very friendly people. Would definitely use again.

Bought a rolling walker today at Ward which was recommended to me. Staff was very knowledgeable & enumerated the pros and cons of each model. Up at Saint Augustine with family on vacation. Fiancé had knee surgery and borrowed a wheelchair to get around. Hit a hole in the sidewalk while exploring the old city and broke the wheel. This company stayed open so we could get a New wheel for the wheelchair and put it on for us. We could not find one to rent by or replace it with. I highly recommend using these people. They were very nice and knowledgeable. The guy had it fixed and out to us with time to spare.

Not only when I broke my foot, was the woman who answered the phone, rude and inconsiderate, yrs ago, I'm met with the same attitude and utmost sense of inconvenience to her. It has cost my business that I've found elsewhere with a smile, I will never refer anyone to Ward's and only have to speak of the the woman who obviously doesn't deserve her position but sadly seems to be a "fixture" there!

Courtney was, and continues to be, a huge help and guide during my husband's recovery and need for oxygen. She explains how to use the equipment, and I am confident that I can explain it to my husband when I leave her. She's a gem!
