Restaurant Waterway Cafe reviews
19The food and service was amazing! We left Sailfish (where we were staying) to come have dinner here! It was well worth the trip!
Pretty good overall. Nice water view and lots of fans going. The outdoor bar was closed for renovations but we sat inside. Would recommend
Our server was exceptional; food was hit and miss (seafood pasta was tasty, pizza not so much) ; drinks were great; ambiance was disappointing.
The AC was dripping onto the bar, and as soon as our food came out to the patio, we were swarmed by flies. They turned on lots of fans, but we still had to wave flies away while eating. The manager dropped by, and laughed that they had done an "experiment" in the past and found that the flies loved the seafood pasta and gumbo dishes. Okay? ! It would have been nice to have received that information before we ordered.
The food was tasty and fresh; no doubt. However, the “Korean beef egg rolls” were 75% rice and just a sprinkle of beef. Very disappointed with that appetizer. The waitress wasn’t bothered when i told her either and didn’t seem to know about the dish at all…
Also had the caprese sandwich which was delicious. However. Price point of $20 is RIDICULOUS. This place is seriously overpriced…
Consistently great food and vibe at the Waterway Cafe. I believe it server was Maddie. Maddie was phenomenal. When you go, all too be seated in her section. She is quite good.
Very bad experience this time. The fish was very undercooked and re- served in an unprofessional manner. This restaurant has gone downhill over the years.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time together & the meal.shared 3 items & the server was very accommodating. Food's always good, & enjoyable atmosphere near the waterway.
Grilled branzino was so bomb I didn’t get a picture of it. Fresh, juicy meat and simple. Sides of green beans and rice it came with were also good and not soggy. Peel and eat shrimp was yum too. Fun, engaging and nice bartenders and staff, bravo
It was decent. The spot was better than the food. Older building but unique instead. Expensive for ok food. Ribs were dry. Steak was fatty and no flavor. The best was Korean Beef egg rolls.
Amazing place! Great view of the intercoastal. The food was outstanding. The drinks were not strong but quickly corrected after speaking with the bartender. The waiter was not too friendly but that didn't ruin my outing.
They undercooked our porkchop and Maui. Both were completely raw in the center. The server never brought out drinks and we had to ask for refills.
A historic favorite! I wish you would bring the reggae band back on Sundays. The cheeseburger was delicious, despite paying 18 dollars lol
Wow. Just wow! We got there 5 minutes before Happy Hour was over and we managed to order drinks and entrees and benefit from the great price. Great choice of wines and cocktails, mouth watering appetizers and entrees and the desserts! OMG! Nelson was our server and couldn't have been nicer and Bret, the owner, came by to check that everything was ok. Loved the whole experience: (Panko crusted salmon and chocolate and peanut butter cake for dessert - highly recommended).
Note: Thursday nights they have live music and dancing AND you don't need to have your car valet parked - just pass the valet line and go to the self-parking area.
I can't wait to go back. Enjoy!
Pros:
* beautiful landscaping
* seated quickly / no wait
* lovely water view
* chill atmosphere
Food wasn't bad, but definitely wasn't worth what we paid.
We got the octopus salad, buffalo tender appetizer and the blackened salmon.
Cons:
* staff lacked personality and seemed annoyed we were there
* prices
* it was uncomfortably hot
Best I can say is it was okay. Was there with family after a funeral. My medium well burger came out dripping red all over the bun. Food runner agreed it was not right and brought it back to the kitchen. I then got back a completely dried out, well done burger that seemed to have been microwaved, on the same soggy "blood" saturated bun. Just disgusting. Everyone else was well into their meal at that point and our server never came to ask if the re-do was okay so I just ate my lunch.
We were there because of the decades of memories of dining there with my Mom but it won't be on our list if there are any future visits to Palm Beach Gardens.
I visited the restaurant on 6/19/23 for dinner. We ordered the Branzino special (at $35.00!), Korean Beef eggrolls and a Fish fry dish. My family and I were very disappointed with every dish. The Branzino dish had no flavor, and had no visual appeal. The other dishes did not fare any better. The worst were the flies. As a matter of fact, a fly fell from the ceiling into my grandson's dish where it promptly died.
I would not be returning to this restaurant and would recommend it to anybody else.
This place is absolutely amazing. They accommodated our party of 20. Our server Paige was an absolute angel. Her kindness is unmatched.
I would suggest getting drunk before eating.because that's how bad their food is! The outside deck and bar area are in need of repairs and ropes off with yellow caution tape. The surrounding view is of construction work, equipment, and cranes, so forget about taking pictures of you and your family 's special occasion.
Had couple of drinks, buffalo wings and guava shrimp bites delicious definitely not pocket friendly
