Werner-Boyce Salt Springs State Park reviews
14This is a very unique and awesome experience! It's about 2 hours and you can see lots of great sights! Plus it's a good workout!
Great place. It was high tide so we didn't see the falls or much happening at the springs, but saw a blue heron and a large blue-clawed crab. There are lots of things to see here!
Only walked two shorter trails. Saw two larger Gopher Tortoise and some other wildlife. Well maintained. No trash. It just did not seem to have to much access.
You can rent Kayaks & Canoes at Salty Dog kayaking here. Check their website first before you come to make sure they're open. Nice people run it. Nice walking trails also.
I live less than 1 mile from the park. There's a really nice kayak launch here. It's a bit of a walk to the launch site, you walk down a long boardwalk to a nice shaded picnic area near the padded & carpeted launch site. You need two people to carry your yaks or you'll need a cart because it's a ways down. Some nice short nature trails leads you around the park to see scrubs, mangroves bits of the Gulf and of course the salt springs. Although it is one continuous park it is divided into two sections. The northern most section is easily accessable by using the Scenic Drive entrance which is north of the Gulf View Mall. The main entrance is south near the Walmart. Bring your own kayaks or rent them here at the southern section. A nice little bonus is they have a little free library there at the beginning of one of the trails. So after a day paddling out to the gulf or walking the trails and enjoying the natural beauty, you can grab a free book so you can head home for a nice relaxing evening on the couch reading your new book Just remember when you come back (and you know you will) bring some of YOUR old unwanted books so we can carry on this most lovely and neighborly tradition! See you there!
First time kayaking and the warm and wholesome personality of the park representatives made it all the more enjoyable. Truly a Florida gem for every local to enjoy at least once.
Pretty cool little lpace there is a few small spring that are nice when tide is out but when tide is in they look nasty and you can rent or bring you own kayak 5 dollars for parking
Great price to rent a kayak, beautiful views, went in circles to get back to launch so maybe better sinage is needed for novices
It was beautiful! Can't wait to kayak here. Loved hiking the trails. Only complaint is the
deer flies Definitely use bug repellant!
Didn't know what to expect. I didn't kayak so that may be where the beauty is but walking was just murky water and trees. Nice lookout spot but not really anything exciting to see.
It’s was nice but didn’t see any interesting animals like a bear, fox, or raccoon and I was looking forward to seeing something like that.
Absolutely loved this park. Truly raw FL. I couldnt imagine what it must have been like trudging through it upon first discovery. Great trails and saw more wildlife than expected. Tons of birds including a few rare ones. Saw a Bald Eagle on a previous visit. We definitely look forward to more visits in the near future.
We really loved this park and it was rich in history. One of the more interesting parks. It s an old salt mining area and mullet fishing. It has nice elevated look out points. You walk around in swampy areas, lots of alligator signs, so stay alert! It had several trails and canoeing and kayaking. Launching points for your own water sports. It has open bathrooms in the big lookout! This park is a great representation of Florida.
Great place to bring the family and kids to get back to nature. Lots of walking and biking trails. Plenty of parking. Restrooms are clean. Easy to find on US-19.
