Wholesale Music Instruments reviews
15My favorite guitar store:) I don’t understand some of the reviews considering Gene and his son are super pleasant to be around and I naively took a guitar right off the wall and was encouraged to play it! (I now feel a bit bad about because his guitars are priceless and I should’ve asked). We ended buying a Les Paul and a fender bass from here and cannot wait to come back for more!
Lots of nice instruments! And relatively friendly service. My main grip: When I went in I really wanted to buy a new banjo, so I went to the wall and grabbed one to play, I borrowed a tuner from the owner, and went to the side room to hear the banjo. After playing for about 5 to 10 minutes, I was told to stop so another guy can play. (Which is fine I suppose, not really a problem) I then played after that guy left, for about 5 more minutes. I was then told I would only be allowed to play a little more and to move on. So I proceeded to give the banjo back. He then scolded me on taking the banjo off the wall without asking. (This was probably my fault for not seeing a sign, so I am not giving the owner any faults on that.) My only real problem was when he started complaining about how long I played the instrument and how he would have to clean it now. He then complained to my friend about how my generation sucks and that he would kick me out if he saw me again, and that I was being a real problem. This sucks because I really like the store and its atmosphere, I didn’t mean to give off this impression. I just wish he was more polite about it. I do want to buy from there. I had the full intention on buying an instrument there today. I’ll probably change the rating later, but was not left with a good experience.
The man who owns it seems a very rude, even from an old school standpoint. No consideration for others, if you make a mistake in the store, he will talk bad about you and be petty. Good selection of instruments, its a shame. I was not the person mentioned in the reply to this, although that was my friend
This place is a hidden gem, the owner Gene is one hell of a guy with great personality and an amazing selection! Love this place
This is such a killer example of getting a better experience from a local business. I dropped my old Jackson guitar off to be restrung recently and got it back in better shape than I had left it. Not only did the owner restring it, but he carefully cleaned the guitar making it look better than it has since i got it from my uncle 20 years ago. The staff is so friendly and extremely knowledgeable as well. This will be my go to place from now on.
I was in town a few days. I was looking for a specific acoustic guitar and I seen they had the brand so I headed their way and I didn't regret it. What a great experience. They were very busy but Gene and Kevin could not have been more attentive. I thought customer service was dead but not here! Thank you for the experience, please come open a store in Tallahassee, FL and take over! I will be back.actually headed back now to pick up something I forgot yesterday.
This was the best music store we visited on our entire trip I met the owner and his son and they shared some great stories with us they have some really unique and rare guitars and are quite knowledgeable on them would recommend this place anytime
Gene and. Kevin? Are cool guys. I get a bit of a push-to-sell vibe from Gene, but that's no surprise. Got to make money to eat and grow the business. Wish they had a proper luthier in-store and maybe a sound test room, but lot of good selection for merchandise.
Fabulous place to shop in Melbourne for music gear! Great friendly knowledgeable staff.
Highly recommend
Friendly knowledgeable staff. Great selection of guitars, drums and string instrumemts. Even had the valve oil I was looking for. Thanks
I had a great experience picking out a guitar. The staff is very knowledgeable and willing to take time to help you find the right guitar. Thank you!
Edit: I waited politely outside the door to enter this establishment after eating breakfast a few doors down. The owner told me if I wanted to go play with guitars I should go to guitar center in Orlando. So I went and chose between 6 guitars and landed on purchasing a beautiful Martin and Co, even came with electric pickups! Paid 600 out the door and it even came with a nice bag. Lesson being, if people want to come play your instruments. Doesn't always mean they won't be purchasing one! Thanks to the owner for the recommendation to the BETTER guitar store around.
The owner and his staff a great at this location always helpful and very professional. I love that I never heard a Banjo played live and got a mini concert with the help of one of the staff members who joined in and played a harp they totally rocked it!
Prices are ridiculous.
$40 for a drum head that is less than $30.
Drumsticks were $20 when others sold them for $12.
I came here to purchase my first electric guitar. Spent over an hour in the store and the gentleman here were very helpful and knowledgeable. I didn't know exactly what I was looking for and they took their time helping me find the perfect instrument. Thank you!
