Winter Haven Hospital Emergency Department

If you want to be seen in a timely manner do not come to this place. I am going on 10 hours of sitting in the waiting room for my husband. They won’t give me any answers of when we will be seen. They almost kicked me out because of “over crowding” I will not come back here. Completely unorganized and the nurses are rude.

Unbelievable! Sit for 8 hrs unreal! Had blood work done, had xray done, and ekg was done early with in the 2 hrs I was there then I just had to sit and had vitals checked like 4 times! Never will I step foot in there again!

Whatever you do, please do not come here. There are people experiencing real problems that have waited in the lobby for 6+ hours. This is not a joke. If you value your life AT ALL, go somewhere else. Anywhere else. I'm writing this review at the 5 hour mark of waiting now. There was a man experiencing chest pains that had been waiting 7 hours and still didn't get to see a doctor. They should rename this the "Death by waiting Room. "

I’ve been in the waiting room for 4 hours with my son who is wheezing, chest pain, and having shortness of breath. The nurses haven’t checked on him or even give an approximate wait time. There were only 3 people in the waiting area when I arrived and not one of them have been called in the last 4 hours! Horrible!

Absolutely the WORST ER experience we’ve ever had! They won’t let me in to support my elderly Mother & Father because they are “too busy”! I am my parents POA & they told us that my father (who had quadruple bypass surgery 3 months ago) would have to swap out with me if I went in (so I am now sitting in their parking lot while she sits in their lobby with 180/60 blood pressure & excruciating pain with no one to speak up for her because they won’t let her daughter in!)! It’s seriously the worst medical nightmare we’ve ever experienced. They could care less about their patients! I truly wish we didn’t have to give any stars! Don’t go here!

Have been waiting since 8: 30 am. It is now 2: 35. Grossly understaffed. Last time I saw someone was at 2: 00 when I went to find a nurse Er is packed 1 doctor on duty. No one comes by to check on anyone.

After still waiting 4 hours to be seen, my girlfriend still sits in excruciating pain from an abdominal wound. She is on a wound vac and was told to come here to address an infection that has occurred. When we got here there were 3 patients. Now the ER waiting is jammed. It seems that the ER front staff admits who they want and take those they can push out fast. It's unfortunate that those that need the treatment are looked over. It's a shame that a hospital can't handle or triage patients properly to get the care they need. Shame on you. Btw.its now 4 and one half hours waiting. I truly hope none of your family needs help.

I had never had such a bad experience of waiting 8 hours in the waiting room and 3 hours inside when I was being attended to. I will never come to this hospital again.
