Ximenez-Fatio House Mus reviews
10If you have ever wanted to step back in time Saint Augustine is the place to do it, and the Ximenez-Fatio house is one of the very best places to get a real sense of how the times were back then. We took the audio guide tour and loved walking through all the rooms at our (myself, 70 year old mother and 7 year old daughter) own pace. Note that there is no AC in the house, they do have fans set up and the breezes made it tolerable. I learned so much and really enjoyed the experience. They also had a fun "scavenger" hunt for my daughter which kept her engaged, and a wonderful selection of prizes to choose from at the end.
This was one of the best places we visited in St. Augustine. Very interesting. Loved the self guided tour! Some of the dialog got a little long winded, but it's easy to skip and move on.
Lots of Era history and furnishings. Can't go wrong g for price. I liked the electronic tour guide.
There has been a lot of work to bring out the history that involved the house over a span of years/events in time. So much detail.
I had the best but also the scariest experience at the Ximenez-Fatio House! My docent Hannah was awesome and informative and during the tour, while visiting Louisa Fatio’s room, a spirit was making thumping and scraping sounds on the floor above us and Hannah told me that no one was supposed to be up there I couldn’t believe this was happening. The spirits of the Ximenez-Fatio House came out to play during my visit! I was in awe of the authentic historical pieces inside the property. I got to see an old Florida map from 1837 in the Sea Captain’s room and also the famous Caravaca cross from 1650 that was found in the grounds! The Ximenez-Fatio House is beautiful, historical and classic St. Augustine! Visit this time portal and make some new friends, both from the worlds of the living and the dead
We’re here on vacation and this was on the list of things to do! And it didn’t disappoint! We did the self guided tour and had the option to listen through devices for more information! Every room was well decorated with of the time period furniture and even had clothing with additional information on them as well! We do a lot of house tours and this is one of the few that had clothing on display! It was worth the price!
We loved learning the history of this 1800s era inn. Each room was decorated in authentic replica design. The self guided audio tour was both entertaining and educational.
I recently visited the Ximenez-Fatio House Museum in St. Augustine and it was an incredible experience! The home is beautifully preserved and the staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They provided us with a tour of the house, which is filled with lots of interesting artifacts and stories. They also host a variety of events throughout the year which are definitely worth checking out. If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend you visit the Ximenez-Fatio House Museum - it's a real hidden gem!
Hidden history that’s being told! This is a must see. Live actors in real life history situations. Very well researched. This is a secret gem in St Augustine. Parking is an issue but I eve your there all is good. Close to restaurants and the historic library.
Very cool place! We did a self-tour which took us about an hour or so. Such a great historic location!
