Non-Profit Organization YMCA reviews
20 Had not grown with the times and continues to raise membership fees and enrollment fees. Middle school sports are desperately needed in Santa rosa county. The level of competition and lack of knowledge for some sports will have you paying hefty travel/club prices to get the proper training.
Would recommend a training for all volunteer coaches.
Field maintenance should be covered with the membership fee.
Very disappointing
I love going to our YMCA. There are so many things to choose from to enjoy your excersize routine. Classes, machines, etc. Love being a member. The staff are extremely helpful.
Always a pleasure going to the Navarre YMCA. We love the workout and our Daughter Meryn loves the KidZone! We really feel like family when we are there.
All of the YMCA's are advertised as family friendly places, while the hours of operation and the majority of the staff are friendly and polite as everyone should be while on the clock and the kid zone and in general the fitness floor are good, they've gotta do something about using the basketball court for EVERYTHING except basketball. They use it for after school child care, for summer camps, volleyball, for other sports camps for pickle ball and actually allot only 45 minutes to 1 hour before closing time to actual basketball play time. Only some staff are mindful enough to remind the other activities that their time is up and sometimes they even go all the way to 830! Which is unfair and overall not functional because when you have 20 kids (all paying customers) showing up at the same time someone is gonna end up not being able to play! They have the space and they have the community so its about time to think about building another multipurpose room where you can overflow all the activities that don't need to be in the basketball courts and so you can actually serve all your clients fairly.
This YMCA has been a huge blessing to my family and I! The top notch daycare allows us a chance to get fit and healthy. Our kids absolutely love going to the daycare center and actually push mom and dad to go. The ripple effects have been positive and amazing in our household. As the kids watch us strive to be healthier, they are working at it as well.
They have every type of equipment, group activities, and pool! If I had to have a complaint, it would be that the facility could be 2-3x larger. I come from a very small town in Missouri and our Y was much larger. We had several basketball, volleyball, and racket ball courts. It would be nice to have more space to spread out working out as well as more gyms for open gym times AND after care. I know these things take money and time, but just something to note of as our community is growing at such a fast rate!
Thank you YMCA!
The staff is patient and caring! I was nervous leaving my child in an after school program but my child loves it here! Like mentioned earlier wonderful staff. This was a great decision.
Additional edit: this afternoon was awesome! Pool was cool (not hot) things were fixed and lifeguards opened the slides. They even went as far as encouraging my child to go down cause he got scared once he climbed up there.
Edit: since my first review I noticed the mushroom has been fixed. Thanks for prompt response, however if I’m in the pool and my child passes the “swim test” he should be able to go on the slide.
If the review was based on swim lessons it would be a 5 star, but due to the slide never being open, children not allowed to jump off diving boards and the broken water mushroom…. It is a 3.
This Y has most of the core equipment for working out and a TON of treadmills. I'm surprised at how much equipment they fit into this Y, honestly. I mean, there are 20 treadmills here, and there is still enough room for a few benches, a cable machine, squat rack, Smith machine, 2 types of leg press, and a bunch of other machines. Also, there are 2 racks for dumbells, so there are plenty of low to medium weight ones when it's busy. In short, this Y is great if you're trying to get active, build muscle, lose weight, tone, or maintain.
I love the idea of keeping the pool open past Labor Day. We still have so many warm days left in the year.
The accessibility and cleanliness are top notch. Someone is always there to answer questions/provide guidance and we feel very comfortable.
Great facility with all the best workout equipment and the quality experience one would expect from YMCA. Great classes and a superb swimming pool.
We love our YMCA! Summer camp has the kids busy learning and making friends. Coaches are compassionate and leave positive impression on the kids that last all year.
This YMCA is the best I have ever been too. I lost my home to a fire a while back. My wife and son are out in south Florida in the RV. We lost everything. I have been very quiet about where my service dog and I stay so that it doesn't upset her anymore. I am able to come in shave and shower and the entire staff is very supportive and kind. They actually care! I highly recommend this facility to the local families here. They are Extremely clean, friendly, and helpful no matter your situation. I thank God every minute and second of the day for folks like this.
12 hour summer camp 6AM-6PM five days a week. Thanks for effectively destroying my entire basketball workout with your ridiculous schedule. What kid is willingly waking up during summer before 6 in the morning to come to your camp? Little to no care for any customer outside of the ones bringing in the big money. This is supposed to be a non-profit organization. I pay every single month because this is the only place in my area that allows you access to an indoor basketball court, and now that has been taken away for a whole summer because some children need to be babysat. It’s about money, nothing will change.
Love this facility. Everyone is so welcoming. Classes are all great and they have so many to choose from. I never feel uncomfortable and am always happy that I got a great workout. The pool is also my jam after a good workout! So relaxing and the slides are great for the kiddos.
This is place is disrespectful, after paying for 5 months, and ofc ending it to a different facility. I could not become a guest to just go workout with my friends who go to the ymca
I look forward to going to the gym every morning. It gets my day started with more energy and a chance to socialize with others.
We went to some fitness classes while visiting from Minnesota. The people are kind, friendly and warm. Looking forward to going back!
Enjoyed watching my grandsons play basketball. Very nice place!
Looks like they have just about any type of training and rooms to workout. They even have a real nice Daycare!
Place was clean and the staff was nice but only reason I was there was to chauffeur my Grand Daughter on her first date with the new boyfriend. Supposedly 1 hour but ended up being 2 and a half hours so I gather she enjoyed herself. Safe place for young people to spend time together
