I do not recommend Ackerman security anymore I have put multiple people to Ackerman security and they will do a bait and switch on you. I went through the three-year contract I refuse to sign another contract but they will automatically put you in a contract without your authority. I do not recommend it buyer beware. Stay far away I would give them zero stars if I could!

A dishonest, disreputable company. Insecure payment website. Impossible to reach customer support. Locks their "cancellation request form" behind any sort of reasonable access. The people making decisions at this company should be ashamed of themselves.

I have tried calling multiple times over the past 3 days, finally spoke with someone that said she couldn't help me and would send an email to their 'loyalty' team.still waiting for a call back from that team. Called back again today, went into a never ending loop to speak with their 'loyalty' team.

I ended up pressing 0, and was told I could leave my number and someone would call me back. Hours later and still waiting. I must say that I am very disappointed with the service I have received and have now begun my search for a different monitoring company based on this experience.

ANY POSITIVE REVIEW IS FAKE! They have marginal service at best and make it nearly impossible to cancel. RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

I sent the cancellation request via certified mail and I have the return receipt signed by a staff member at your office on 03/11/21, NOW CANCEL MY SERVICE!

Not sure why the hassle to cancel service. You call to cancel, they say you have to mail something or email something to cancel. Once you email them to cancel, you get a response that the Loyalty team will call you to confirm the cancellation within 48 hours. It's been more than two weeks and no call back. When i email back to ask why no return call, all i get is a response saying that again my request will be sent to the Loyalty team. I've been LOYAL for 10 years and can't get a simple confirmation that my account is closed. Ridiculous. God help them if they wait until another payment gets taken out of my bank account.

Here is the scary fact: your are trusting crooks to guard your house. When you decide to cancel your contract they won't let you. You will be placed on hold, transferred around, and in the end they will never send you the forms to cancel your account. If you don't believe me try the process yourself.

Been a customer for 6 years now! Called about charges due to an unfamiliar amount.

Spoke to Reggie who was absolutely terrible at customer service. Basically, he was OK saying what he had to say and that was how it had to be. Reggie did not want to take 5 minutes to review my account so he can see my previous charges. I was just needing to take his words for it because it’s my money not his. Reggie answer was to simply hang up on me rather than help me.

Job well done (sarcasm).

Very disappointed after being a long term client.

Update: I actually had to go to the insurance commmissioner to file a complaint and get my contract canceled due to no service and lack of follow through. Apparently at the time there were other issues so my case was carried forward with others and all was rectified for me, contract canceled. Even that was a mess.

Please pay attention to the contract and do not listen to the sales agent. Better yet, go elsewhere, there are too many options to opt for Ackerman. From Day 1 I was lied to by the agent Demetrice Hall, from the install appointment date, to the equipment they would provide, to the promise of free months of service to correct, to the unanswered service requests, to the unanswered alarms, to the unanswered service calls and long hold times. Additionally, they stuck me with 5 years after verbally telling me it was a month to month contract. I tried to cancel within the 3 days because of the initial bad sales appointment but that was unanswered, I just purchased the Simplisafe system to use as back up until I figure out how to get out of this contract. I had them years ago in another home and since then their service has done a complete 360. I've now been trying to reach them for a week because the Alula app isn't working and their hold times are ridiculous and still not answering.

Editing to add to the response: anyone looking to express their complaints with documentation through a whistle blower/news outlet please email me at the user name via gmail. I have one in progress as well as secured an attorney. I have valid documentation "for cause" termination and they have illegally attempts at securing payment after cancellation. They continue to pile on the documentation)

Every person we worked with while wanting to ask questions, learn about our options & have our security system installed was WONDERFUL. We worked with Greg Healen for our complimentary visit & Jamal installed our system. Both had great costumer service, answered questions in ways we could understand and made us feel like we were choosing the right company.

We have had Ackerman for many years and have been very pleased. I called with a question and was fortunate enough to get Katelyn Bray. She was wonderful! Probably the nicest, most knowledgeable, and most responsive customer service rep I have EVER dealt with for any company! Because of the food experiences we've had, I definitely recommend Ackerman for home security!

***BUYER BEWARE*** Their service hasn't worked at my home for more two years because I refused to purchase their $500 "required" equipment upgrade - partially because I was planning a major home renovation. I attempted to cancel via mail and email but they never cancelled and continue to charge my credit card. I've now cancelled my credit card and they're still pursuing payments.

Do not use this service, I would give zero stars if I could. All of there panels are old and out of date. They lied about what the security system could do. I was under the impression I was getting a better newer panel then what I already had in my home. Not only did I not get a newer better panel, it does not even have a good alarm sound on it. It give a very low annoy beep, that you would not even hear if you are upstairs. I do not understand how this is suppose to make a home feel safe and secure. I paid over $500 dollars for a alarm system that really does nothing. I am very disappointed.

Decent Security and gets the job done but if you move out of an area they don't service it will cost you dearly. Its going to cost me $2,000 since I'm moving to an area they aren't located and they refuse to take the gear back or allow me to bring it with me. If you are a person that travels or moves more than others I recommend going with Xfinity or another company that doesn't prevent you from moving. Also Amazon has security cameras with no contract or monthly bill

Wonderful customer service, on time, and no problems. Saleman was thorough, explained everything in a comprehendible manner. Technician is wonderful. Always on time, well mannered and took care of every question or concern I had. Would highly recommend Ackerman as a home security company!

Like others stated, it's impossible to get your serviced canceled.they never emailed me the termination letter.but I found it on their site.mailed it it.and they are still taking the money out of my account for 3 months now.this service is the worst company I've ever dealt with, I was with them for 8+ yrs. NEVER AGAIN! Image: at post office mailing the letter!

Added.they FINALLY resolved the issue after me calling and giving my 2cent. You'll have had the cancelation letter for a while. I mailed it in November 2nd, so atleast since the 10th. So there was No confusion, just the staff not doing their jobs. #period.enjoy your day!
