Dollar General reviews
22The store itself is ok. However, if they get even moderately busy, there's a gridlock at the register. They are perpetually understaffed. I was just there today and I saw someone just set their items down and walk out because they had to wait so long.
Usually the junk food isles are pretty bare, and whatever you do STAY AWAY WHEN THE HIGH SCHOOL IS LETTING OUT. It gets flooded with rude brats and checking out is a nightmare.
Friendly staff. The store is dirty. The shelves are dusty and dirty. Shopping carts and baskets are filthy. The floors are dirty. So many pallets and stock on the sales floor that customers can't move and shop!
Misleading ads in store if something is 70% off why is the price list showing 90% off.staff not very friendly.
Great customer service, but the store needs a team to come in and up place items on the shelves; get things organized etc.
I come here 2-3x's out of the week just for the wonderful staff.
You guys are awesome!
Easily the WORST store in Athens. Consistently under stocked, bad customer service and prices aren't worth the miserable experience at this store. Very sad store.
They had something going on this day! Stocking, but was a mess & seemed short handed! 3 people at the Registers, No one stocking!
Hardly anything on shelves stuff on floors unable to move around things in isles expired milk in coolers just dirty
Nasty supplies everywhere floors never clean. Need to be shut down get it right and reopen. They need to clean up their act. Always out of supplies never stock on shelves all on the floor.
It was very nice and they was restocking shelves and cleaning the store. They were very polite and respectful.
I was honestly scared to be in here. It’s so dirty, unprofessional no one seemed to be working to fix anything. I noticed a new guy at the register when walking in he asked for help on a problem he had while checking the customer out the other lady worker told him “ stop calling me up here I can’t help you your bothering me when I’m in the back”. In the back doing what? Your stores a mess. Needs new management. New workers cause doesn’t seem to have any.
Looks like a free for all mess. Blocked aisles, unstocked shelves, filthy, damaged goods, dairy goods on floor next to front door, one hefty girl at back talking on phone about being pimped. The one star is for the pleasant cashier.
This store is an absolute mess! I live seconds from this store and I DO NOT shop there anymore. It’s messy and needs to be stocked and cleaned.
I totally understand it's the holidays but this store is a complete mess. The shelves are empty because of all the products on the floor. And the conversation the staff was having was not appropriate at the front of the store. I could have done without the profanity and inappropriate language. I feel someone from corporate should do a visit. Sooner than later.
Yeah I know they must have owner or management problems, and I can't fault them for that, but I have experienced some of the best in customer service here, the cashier's are so so helpful and courteous, I'm getting a bit elderly, and on several occasions when it's raining they have helped me to my car with my bags. They are always helpful in finding anything for you. I love these people and wish they were compensated better financially. I'm in here several times a week, sometimes twice in a day.
Huge mess. Honestly looks like someone came in and wrecked it. There’s nothing in stock, boxes all over the floor and things thrown on shelves.
I shop here frequently, at least once a week. They have a lot of interesting things they sell, that range from clothes, to food, to yummy snacks, and things like office supplies, vitamins, other medical things, like bandages, and they have other stuff too. Always an interesting experience when I go there. The staff are very helpful, and don't hesitate to give you a friendly smile and hello. Great place. I'd recommend it.
Good place to grab something in a pinch. The aisle I needed something from was very unorganized, with items scattered all about. An employee and manager were in the aisle behind me complaining about other employees, which I find unpleasant and unprofessional. I had a 5 minute wait to check out, which seems to be the norm for Dollar General's.
This is a nice place to go if you need a few things and don't feel like hiking one of the larger grocery stores. Dry goods and some refrigerated and frozen foods are available, along with the standard items found in a discount store. Clean and well-lighted.
Adam (that works on Thursday) is amazing. He’s always fast and it seems like he knows a ton of people in the community. When he is working it makes the place friendlier. Gives it a great “Cheers” vibe and makes me (a person who doesn’t shop a DG often) wanna shop here more.
