Sugo, Johns Creek GA

Had a rehearsal dinner ner there. Was a few hiccups but the owners and staff worked hard to resolve them.

What a great experience! We celebrated two birthday's and an anniversary there last night and the team was great. The staff signed a small birthday card for my sister and daughter and had a separate anniversary card for my wife and I - what a thoughtful and simple touch to make you feel special. The owner came by and chatted with us (and many other tables) and even gave us some recommendations.

The food was great and authentic. We started out with the calamari and you can taste the freshness. I knew we were going to be in for a treat for the rest of the evening. Everyone (including the kids) loved their meal and were stuffed. Highly recommend getting their meatballs - talk about home made and massive!

Having lived in NY for most of my life and eating at mom and pop Italian restaurants it was great to find a restaurant that's making authentic Italian food with old country charm!

Went for a Christmas party with a small group. The food was just ok. I ordered the shrimp scampi as it came highly recommended, but it was under salted/seasoned and the shrimp tasted very average. Definitely not something I would order a second time. For apps we got the meatball, calamari, flatbread, mushroom ravioli and bacon wrapped dates. There was a lot of fanfare surrounding the famous meatball and flatbread, but my favorite of all of them was the mushroom ravioli, it was delicious, savory and creamy. If you have more than just a small group, order multiples because the portion sizes are small. The people working at sugo are lovely and checked on us often throughout the night. To their credit, it seems to be a hectic place to work, but everyone was warm and welcoming all the while. Seating was not ideal, we were near the entryway & anyone entering/exiting created a draft. The staff and customers were constantly brushing by the table and bumping into it. It was an awkward place to sit, I felt like we were in the way. I can see that on a less busy night, customers may have a different experience with the food and ambiance. I'm glad I got to try it out, but next time I'd prefer just spending the money and time on cooking a nice meal at home. If you're looking for a place to get a little dressed up and enjoy drinks with friends, you'll have a good time.

This is our third time returning to celebrate a special occasion. Each time, it was better than the others. The quality of the food is outstanding! The service is highly rated and very friendly. They also know their menu very well. The price is worth every bite. The owner is also very nice and checked on us. Definitely a returning customer!

Great date, work or family atmosphere. Up scale Italian food, but can't comment on 'authenticity. '

So disappointed! Sugo was at the top of my list for birthdays and anniversaries. Now they are at the bottom. I felt like we were in a sports bar instead of what I always thought to be one of the best restaurants in town. Three guys behind the bar waiting on two patrons were loud and cheering at the tennis match. The waitress kept putting silverware on the table as opposed to a napkin or plate. The servers came out and said “Did you order this? ” then plopping it down in front of you. They should have said something along the lines of “I have such and such…”
Typically, you are greeted by a friendly hostess, seated and at some point, greeted by the owners. On special occasions, Sugo’s would give a card signed by staff and a dessert or limoncello. We went on Friday night to celebrate a birthday. The hostesses were stumbling all over each other. We ordered dessert the waitress slid two spoons across the table—I doubt the table was all that clean. The dessert was brought with a candle in it, no fancy plates saying “Happy Birthday” in chocolate writing. Then charged us $13. We never saw the owners and I thought perhaps they sold the business. Taco Mac/Tony’s would have been a better experience and much less expensive.

Went for my birthday dinner, I can't say one bad think. The owner was engaging, the entire wait staff was awesome. Now onto the food - everything was great, the risotto balls were incredible, I wish they shipped them, the calamari was some of the best I've had, the cannaloni was outstanding and I can't say enough good things about the tiramisu. 10 toes and 30 thumbs up.

Great food! Service was good, food came out hot and quick. Started off with Meatballs and special Flatbread they were both great plus the complimentary bread, Ordered Chicken Parm I would've prefer it on a different pasta but overall it was deliciously ended the night with Tiramisu. I would be coming back to try other dishes.

I always enjoy going to Sugos! The staff is great and the food is wonderful. Do not pass on the bacon wrapped dates, they are amazing!

Celebrated a friend's birthday. Had a wonderful experience with the dinner and ambiance. The food was great the steak and pasta were delicious. Our waitress was responsive, and Pleasant. Enjoyed the evening.

Wonderful hosts, great dishes all around.you can tell the owners are passionate about what they do and they care about each customer.definitely recommend the meatballs!

This is one of our favorite places! We have always celebrated special events here. It's like visiting family every time we come back. The food is always excellent along with the service!

Three of us went on a Saturday evening. The server was polite. We had martini, rose, red wine, and calamari to start. Very good. Then salmon, shrimp scampi, and cannelloni. Again very good. We finished with dessert. A nice place to revisit

Tasty Italian food, Good service. Right sized portions. The owner was going table by table to make sure everyone was satisfied. I would be happier if they had more beer options.

Our own fault, went out to dinner on a Sat.they had a wedding party and a social event going on at same time. Very noisy to say the least. Waited a considerable time at bar but the bartender was a hoot.
The saving salvation was our waitress, Michelle, very understanding and extremely helpful. We've eaten here in past and usually the meal is great, tonight so so. I think due to the extreme crowds the kitchen was a bit stressed.we were. Will return again only most likely in the middle of the week.

Amazing dinner, cocktails and service were on point. Definitely come in here and be blown away. This is old school, owner meets you at the door, top level everything.

Always a great meal at Sugo and tonight they had my all time favorite entree - Pork Braciole - on special!

I went to this restaurant for a special occasion which was set up in a separate room. All of the wait staff were very friendly and helpful. The owners of this restaurant are on site and very friendly and willing to help if needed. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Sugo has become a go-to for me when I'm in the area. Everything I have ever eaten here has been outstanding, and they genuinely have some of the best service I have ever experienced. Highly recommend.
