We arrived to this ghetto looking rental car space, long wait and rude attendant Amy who charged us hidden fees and we paid upfront with price line. And they still charged us $50 they said the coverage we bought on priceline would not cover their cars. Would never ever recommend this place. And putting them on blast all.over everyone's social media. Never come here it's 10 minutes away from the airport it looks like a tow yard and they were scam artist

I wanted to reach out in regards to the experience we had the past week with A-1 rental car Honolulu. My husband and I rented a car in Honolulu for our honeymoon and everything started out great. We arrived at the location and the manager had offered us an “upgrade” for our honeymoon which was a broken down Nissan. The moment we stepped in the car we noticed that the check tire light was on so we pulled over and filled the tires. Remind you, this was at 8 pm when we had just gotten off a 5 hour flight and wanted to begin our honeymoon. We pulled over, my husband filled up the tires and we continued on our way. For 3 days we drove around the island exploring, never exceeding 50 miles per hour. One day, my husband was driving me to go on our paid tour and noticed that the car was swerving. We pulled over and we noticed a flat tire. My husband then had to change the tire in 85 degree weather and we missed the tour that had been looking forward to the whole week. I then called the company and told them what had happened and they told us to bring the car in to exchange it for a new one. I figured that meant we would receive a better car or some sort of reimbursement but instead was greeted with hostility. The manager then offered us a new car and told us everything would be good to go. We took the new car for one day and then returned it to the company and when we arrived the girl informed us we would have to pay $300. Which I then asked why since the manager had told us all was good to go. She informed me that we owed $300 for the tire (which we didn’t break) and then I asked to speak to a manager. She told me that the manager would “rip my head off” and I told her I would like to speak to him anyways. She then pretended to call him and told me that we had nothing to worry about and that we wouldn’t be charged anything. I then received a phone call from the bank telling me that they tried to charge us $300 after stating they wouldn’t. My husband called to ask for a receipt and clear up the situation and they yelled at him. I then took the phone and asked for a bill and they proceeded to call me “an idiot”, “incompetent”, “I can’t read”, etc. I have never experienced customer service like this in my life. I would like to be informed that this will not be charged.

Don't rent from this place! This place is a scam. The vehicles are unreliable and repulsive. Thay charged me some random fees ($98.75) without telling me.

The worst place to get a rental! I prepaid my rental and what should have cost me $230 ended up costing me almost $800 after being told I would be refunded by Ozzy himself I was refunded $200 and after calls and calls being cussed out by employees cause I’m questioning where my money is and why I have not received the other $500 I was promised it’s been over 2 months and still no money! I’m sure if someone kept your money and was an ocean away you’d cuss ppl out cause it’s not like I can go over to have you talk to your customers like that and think you’d have a job for long! Stop lying to ppl and stealing money that’s not yours and mostly Ozzy told me it wouldn’t be an issue it get my money back and it’s definitely been an issue they have my email and my number but I’ll never get my money back! I was supposed to wait 10 days for my money! Bad bad business…SHAME SHAME!

This place is a joke. The old bitty that works in the office knows everything while knowing nothing at all. Nevermind that this hole in the wall is 10 minutes from the airport. Save yourself some frustration and get a rental car at the airport. The price difference is well worth saving yourself the aggravation.

Had a horrible experience renting a car a few months back. Smelled bad, unreliable, etc. I’d pay extra for a better experience. They’re also not located near the airport.

After my first negative review I received a random charge from them. This was after we returned the car and got everything signed off. Successfully disputed. Look for a rental car somewhere else

We had a very smooth experience. They even gave us a free car upgrade since it was our honeymoon.

Save your money & time and rent somewhere that has updated cars. Better off using Turo. We had stayed at on the island for two weeks, returned our car to this place after a week and went with thrifty rentals.

Terrible rental company. Just like others are saying, they will give you a unreliable car and then double charge you when you return it. I have filed a claim with American Express.

Nothing bad to say think people are just upset at the world and want to harp on a company for doing there job

Avoid this place if you can. Their cars are beat up and the insurance they try to charge you for is a rip off.

Get a good deal, the car was a good ww, but they charge me more, finding excuse, when I call for details they give me a partial refund and that person was very rude, hang up the phone, in the end I am doing a dispute with my credit card, make sure you pick up the car same hour what you book, they saying I was charge more because I pick up the car 20 min later, I was waiting outside more then 1 h, so I was there, they charge me a157.73$ extra, the car need a emergency oil change, but they don't care

Accidentally booked it with autoslash/priceline. Thought that they were located at the airport (they are not, they have a shuttle). Overall, you get what you pay for:
- not 24/7 (8am to 8pm)
- impossible to reach them over the phone, even during the business hours
- short-staffed, small waiting area outside, waits may get long if many people come at once.took 1,5 hours of waiting to get the car.
- extremely rude service

I wish you could give negative stars because I would give this place 100. Your typical con game, made us put our name on a clip board when we finally were picked up at the airport and sat outside for 50 minutes waiting for our turn to get our car, only to find out our reservation was cancelled because it was past our reservation time. After trying to explain we were there at our reservation time, sitting outside, we were told there’s nothing they could do because it’s all controlled by the computer. We ask to speak to a manager and were given a phone number to a “manager” who said we could except the new contract, which was $100 more than the old one, or go rent elsewhere. Do yourself a huge favor and avoid this place at all cost.

We dealt with these guys and they had the cutest cat and great service. They were happy to match price and gave us a clean car and were super nice and accomodating

Extremely rude customer service. This is the worst rental car ever. Pls don’t be fooled by cheaper rate. You will get what you paid for. From start to finish is terrible. They should not be in business.

These people canceled our reservation when we were there so that they could “resubmit” the reservation and charge us DOUBLE what our original reservation was for. These people are thieves and fleece people for dirty cars and cars that literally have bumpers falling off the cars.
We literally had to wait 30 min for their shuttle then another 35 min on their “porch” For them to tell us that the reservation was canceled because it wasn’t picked up within an hour.
Cars are not maintained or cleaned at all.
SAVE your money and spend more for quality rentals.
We called customer service and the guy yelled at us, called us stupid, and then hung up on us.

If you booked a rental car with them online before coming to Hawaii, you messed up already. Super hard to locate the shuttle that will take you from the airport to the actual location to pick up your rental. On top of that, the driver attitude stinks! His whole demeanor was irritated as if we mugged him or something. Anyways, my parter had ask the driver a few questions to essentially not sit in an awkward quiet ride. How’s the weather normally here type of question. He just act annoyed so we stopped talking. After dropping us off at the location, the driver said “if you ask someone questions, you could at-least tip them and chuck a water bottle at my direction and then drove off”
