Aiopio Fish Trap reviews
10 I love this little hidden park! It is so special and calm. You walk about five minutes from the harbor parking lot down a volcanic path, and it spits you out on the most picturesque clear blue beach. There is plenty of shade and you can see sea turtles, fish, and sometimes monk seals. It is shallow enough to swim.
It gets more crowded on the weekend so I recommend going during the week.
This is such a fantastic park in the national parks system. We loved coming here. Learned a lot talking story to the staff. Then hiking a bit along the trails. Such a rich cultural area. It’s very peaceful you can snorkel here as well but it’s not the best. There are Honu in the water but please keep your distance. The scenery is gorgeous and knowing the history just adds to the experience. And it’s free!
It is a historical place.
It is not just a place for turtles, but also a place where Hawaiian protected species come to feed.
It's not a regular swimming pool, it's a federal park.
There are some rules, so let’s find out and go.however
It's a great place to play with kids.
If you come to Kona, be sure to stop by.

Today there is a Hawaiian fur seal that has never been seen before.
This is my first time seeing this close to nature.
Even my toddler could walk around and see fish and turtles! Great place for easy walking and viewing of fish and turtles.
Best place to see the green sea turtles in Kona. It's a very short walk but worth it.
My wife and i spent a week in hawaii without seeing sea turtles. We stopped here on the way to the airport and saw probably 20.
Beautiful area with many turtles basking, and if you snorkel out, there is an abundance of colorful fish
Beautiful place to see turtles. Arrive an hour before high tide, and the probability of seeing turtles will be very high.
Wanting to see sea turtles during your time in Kona? This beach has a ton of them. Look closely at the water because their shells can look like rocks when submerged. We saw at least 8-10 of them during our short walk here. Very cool place. Be mindful when walking on the mossy rocks as they are very slippery.
