Restaurant Alicia's Market reviews
24I didn't go to Alicia's but I did go next door. I bought a breakfast bento for $5. I do know I that Alicia's does accept E. B. T.and that their poke bowls are way bigger than Foodland's.
I was late to discover this place. It seems all of my friends knew about it but never told me. Shame on them. This place is a gem. Not only is the food fantastic, all of the staff are just super friendly. They have the best sweet onion Tako poke I have ever had. No one else even comes close to the flavor of their poke. I also love their roasted Meats. My favorite being the roasted turkey tails. My mom used to bring me turkey tails As a treat when I was a child.having it at Alicia's Market is so comforting.
I had a spicy ahi tuna and pork bowl
The spicy tuna was amazing, pork I liked but I thought it would be better. Still very nice lunch
Very nice market. A little bit of everything.
3/3/20. Looks like this is thier permanent store for good. I miss the convenient store, but especially the bbq behind the display case. The food is still amazingly good. This will always be a place I take tourist!
Lives up to the name for delivering delicious and quality food in huge quantity. My personal favorite is their tako poke paired with roast pig. The roast top sirloin was also very tasty as well. If you get the regular sized plate lunch, it would be enough food for at least 1.5 person
Alica's is guarantee the place for any local visiting O'ahu. You go in there trying to figure out what to get.
This little market is really good. They gave us samples of their poke and tako and we wanted to buy it all. The kalua pork was the best we had in the island.
The washer are not big enough. And the don't even have a coin machine. Most of all they close way to early.
Best hidden local gem for faves like pasteles, poke, sweet potatoes, Char siu, etc.for just lunch for one or catering for all kinds, Alicia's Market is onolicious!
Plate lunches, poke, meats for Barbecue, Pasteles, roast pork, roast duck, sirloin steak, tako, boiled peanuts, cooked ahi belly etc etc etc!
Only way to describe this place is a mini-mart with really really good plate lunch plates tucked away in the back. My co-workers really enjoy the prime rib (I'm not a big prime rib person to begin with).
I wouldn't go here looking for a salad, but if you want to load up on the meats or seafood, you came to the right place.
I would give 5 stars but, this place gets so busy, you really have to time when you go. If you're going at 1130am-1pm, forget it. The food is great, and the service is awesome. Just be prepared to wait.
Been coming here for over 30 years. Always friendly, always great food. You like good local food? You like good poke? This is the place.
Come and get all the poke you can eat. Various choices and lots of other local food. Come hungry, leave happy.
What can I say about this place? Nothing bad, that's for sure. This family runned business is very well stocked with the best Hawaiian Local Grinds you can find. Plate Lunches, Poke Bowls, Lupus, etc. Highly recommended. Chris in the back counter always helpful and personable. Always welcoming with ALOHA.
OMG so freak'in Onolisious! I've been thru just about the whole menu and the served portions are more than headed on, and so so Ono. Next chance you get stop in and treat yourself
They have the best food there. For beer price better then any stores around kalihi. People there treats you like family.
Good poke and really good roast pork. Beef brisket is also pretty good (with the BBQ sauce!) when available. I've tried a couple other things and they were mediocre. Can get crowded at lunch time but they have a pretty efficient ordering system and lots of workers so the wait time is not generally too bad.
On a whim, yesterday I went here after hearing a lot of people complimenting the food, and looking at their Instagram feed.
Parking can be a little sparse depending upon the time of day, but I was able to find one in front of the laundromat.
Upon entering, it kinda has the same feel as Tamashiro Market to a certain extent. You know, that "Mom and Pop" type of hole-in-the-wall place that makes you feel comfortable, yet sad that they are now few and far between.
They have a very eclectic selection of food as you go toward the back of the market. Of course the poké is front and center, however, they have spareribs and other meats on display.which highly tempts a carnivore such as myself, and a well displayed menu of various plate lunches.
My choice for my first visit ever? The Hawaiian plate. Lau Lau, Kalua Pig, Lomi Salmon, and a scoop of rice.it's my litmus test to see how "local" a place is. Needless to say, there was no disappointments, quite the contrary. The Kalua pig had a smoked quality that I found pleasing to eat, the Lomi Salmon was more Salmon than Lomi (hehehe), and the Lau Lau was filled with the appropriate amount pork and fish, compared to a lot of places that wrap more luau leaves and skimp on the filling.you know what I'm talking about, it's not like how Frank Delima described a typical skimpy Hawaiian food spread, half crab, one opihi, lomi-lomi tomato.no, Alicia's Market loads up the food and it was quite delicious.
I also got a half pound of wasabi ahi masago poké. It was a delicious compliment to a wonderful meal.
I can see why Alicia's Market has been open since 1944, they do what they do, and do it so well.
