Ali'i Ocean Tours, Kailua-Kona HI

We had a great time on the trip! Our pilot was very knowledgeable of the local spots to see wildlife. We saw pilot whales, manta rays, dolphins, and more, all from a few feet away. They were flexible and took us to see what we were interested in, and were very helpful at getting us in and out of the boat when snorkeling. In addition, the food was great for a packed breakfast and lunch. Our only complaint was that though we paid extra for the private trip, the staff didn’t seem aware and we just got lucky that there were no other groups booked with us. Despite that, definitely would recommend as everyone from 18 months to 74 had a great time.

Great snorkeling excursion. Went to the manta ray cleaning station, two step outer reef and Capt. Cook memorial. All great. We had a propeller issue so we went slow but the day was totally worth it. Also, the staff is always great and well educated on the Hawaiian history and fish. Loved it. Was our second trip with them. Highly recommend.

Captain McKenzie did a wonderful job taking us to all the hot spots in the Pacific for our vacation. It was fantastic to see little kids all the way to older adults enjoy snorkeling with some amazing scenery. Would definitely recommend.

The vessel and crew are fantastic! The crew is knowledgeable, fun, accommodating, and professional. Their level of service is exquisite and made for a fantastic experience.

We had an amazing experience. It was pretty awesome to see an all women crew and they were great with my kids. They remembered everyone’s names and we felt so welcome. We saw a huge manta ray and multiple types of colorful fish. The boat ride was fun and I loved the little history given throughout the ride. The lunch and snacks were really quality and was much needed after swimming. Thank you for the experience!

I just want to shout out Ali’i Ocean Tours for being hands down the best tour company to work with. The one thing I really appreciated was the communication and how quick Captain Mary Lyn responded. She is so very kind and generous, and willing to give back to her community. I cannot thank her and the all-star female crew who gave all of us a safe, fun, and memorable experience. I can’t thank them enough and couldn’t give a better recommendation for ocean activities and whale watching!

Small boat, great experience! We seen multiple whales and our guides were friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely will do it again.

Enjoyed the whale watching tour despite choppy seas. Intermittent glimpses of cows, calves and males. A small breech or 2, some tails and lots of Spouts! Best way to spot them! Beautiful afternoon with Erin & McKenzie.

The big five ocean tour was fantastic - Erin and Ryan were great guides. The highlight was snorkeling with a pilot whale!

On January 31, we participated in the 1: 30 pm whale watching with Ali’i Ocean Tours. It was fantastic. Our lady Captain and her assistant, did a truly terrific job! We saw whales, including a mother whale with her very small baby, and saw a breathtaking breach. Spinner dolphins, Manta rays, the whole show! It was perfect! Thanks again for a wonderful afternoon, and we will be booking you again soon. Any chance of finding out the name of the two ladies? So we can request them again? They were truly terrific!

Absolutely wonderful whale tour. Our guides were so informative and took amazing care of us. We had an amazing encounter, whales, dolphin and even a manta ray. Had a great time!

Company is very professional and experienced. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to go on our tour due to unexpected weather conditions. The captain made the difficult decision to cancel the tour, although we were very grateful that they prioritized our safety. The company promptly provided a refund. We hope to tour with them in the future.

What a Great Day on the ocean! Erin and Captain Patrick were so much fun, Knowledgable, down to earth and probably had as much fun as we did on board. Highly recommend this company! Snorkelled with Sharks, dolphins, turtles and some great whale sightings right next to our boat. We will definitely be back and on board with this crew and company!
