Allegrini Mozzarella reviews
8If you are in the mood for some pasta, sandwiches and delicious Italian cuisine look no further than Allegrini Mozzarella. This place downtown in honolulu hits you in all the right spots.
I ordered bruschetta. It literally was just 5 pieces of bread with arugula, tomato, olive oil, and balsamic vinaigrette. I was unaware that they didn't put any mozzarella much less if they even use mozzarella at all on the bruschetta. For the price of $14 dollars for five pieces of bread, I could have easily paid another establishment for a bigger, heartier salad.
Love this gem downtown. Got some vesuvio tomatoes and built a beautiful little anchovy spaghetti (fresh pasta and herbs)! Owner was there and talkative and Sicilian and friendly! This place reminds me why Italian food is exciting (when done right).
We lived in Italy for a couple of years, and this was the first time we had an authentic taste of Italian food again since we arrived in Hawaii two years ago. We have tried multiple Italian restaurants on the island but cannot compare them with Allegrini. We will be back for more. Grazie mille.
I ordered a pesto pizza and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. I'm fine with a wait if the food earns it, but after 30 minutes I asked for an update, and found that they had forgotten my order completely. I saw them make it using Kirkland brand pesto and a pre-cooked dough, which made the final product look like school cafeteria food. The $15 price tag, 40 minute wait, and low quality product made the experience memorably disappointing, and sharing it for others to see seemed like the only way to get something positive out of this.
Beautiful sandwiches and service. Completely authentic and delicious. The hallway to eat in is a bit snug and not what I would ever plan on, if you live in town it's a dream. Really really good across the board.
I went in at 12: 00pm on 5/15/23 to order a charcuterie. The young lady who took my order said it would take 20 minutes. I was willing to wait. However, people who placed their orders after me got theirs. I already waited 30 minutes and had to return to work. I asked the woman about my order and it looked like they only started on it. I asked her what time they close so I could come back later. She said 3: 00. Well, my afternoon at the office was busy and I couldn't make it back. I kept the receipt and will return for a refund or my order.
