At The Crater's Edge, Volcano HI

This place is the perfect retreat if you are staying in Volcano. Everything was amazing and it was such a lovely place to come back to after being out on an adventure for the day. The room included wonderful touches like a fire, fresh fruit, a fully stocked pantry of snacks, and bed warmers. You feel like you are staying in a dream tree house in the rainforest.

Our recent stay in the Jade Garden Room was perfection! The room is beautifully decorated. The grounds are lush and filled with beautiful plants and flowers. It was heaven to sleep with the windows open. The greenery outside keeps the room totally private and the cool floral scented night air is fragrant and refreshing. Chris and Eric have designed an amazing experience. I have never slept better the first couple of night of a trip.

We had a wonderful time celebrating our honeymoon here. Amazing room with all kinds of little luxuries that make you feel special, with views right into a beautiful jungle landscape. A highlight of our trip for sure! The hosts are delightful as well.

We had such an amazing time at the Crater’s Edge. Chris and Eric were the perfect hosts and thought of everything you could possibly need and more! We were provided with restaurant recommendations and directions to one of the most beautiful drives on the island that we would never have known about. The property and rooms are stunning, it felt like you were in a beautiful treehouse. We so enjoyed sitting around the cozy fire pit and relaxing. The setting for the jacuzzi is so beautiful and peaceful. We truly hated to leave and can’t wait to return for a longer stay on our next trip.

Could not recommend this more. The location is beautiful, surrounded by forest, and spotlessly clean. The hosts are really nice and helpful, and the location is very convenient.

My stay at The Crater's Edge was nothing more than a dream! We stayed in the Jade Garden suite and it was amazing to wake up each morning with the sun shining through the surrounding Hawaiian greenery. The Volcanic activities only heightened the experience with its close proximity and how fantastic the guides were. It was an amazing experience.
I am one of those who over pack. The just in case. 10 bags later. There is no need for that here. They have thought of everything. Down to the last detail. Beyond private but at a moments notice if you need anything, they are there. Felt like you had stepped into a rainforest of your very own. Lush and luxurious. The crackling of the fireplace, birds songs that delight the senses, and rain pitter-pattering on the roof make it very hard to leave and enjoy the stunning area you are in. There suggestions for food!
The lush Volcano is an experience that none should go without and Eric and Chris will make your stay one that is beyond memorable. Already planning to join them again at there slice of heaven on Earth!

An unforgettable experience, starting with the reception of Cris and Eric, they make you feel very special, the hotel is beautiful, you are in contact with nature, they have everything you might need and more, every detail is thought out and cared for, simply an experience amazing!

Oh my this place is amazing. The picture was taken at night with one light on. On a map the area looks like there are houses all around you, but from the property you'd swear it's just you and the hosts Chris and Eric.

The feel is like being tucked away in a corner of a tropical forest and the rooms are so comfortable.

Eric and Chris are truly amazing hosts with a ton of local knowledge and advice. I'm so glad we found this place.

The only reason I had to deduct a star was we were told there was housekeeping but there wasn't any, except for dishes being washed when left as directed outside the room. No bed made and no towels replaced. Also, we informed them we'd be leaving for the airport early in the morning and the stairs were not illuminated. We almost tripped and fell carrying heavy suitcases down the stairs. Otherwise wonderful stay.

Was für ein wunderschöne Unterkunft! Was für wundervolle Gastgeber! Eric und Chris haben hier ein Paradies geschaffen. Die Unterkunft mit gerade einmal zwei Zimmern liegt mitten im Dschungel und dennoch sehr nah zum Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park (keine 10 Minuten Fahrt bis zum Parkeingang; Name ist Programm). Durch die großen Fensterflächen schläft man quasi direkt im Dschungel. Ein Whirlpool ist auch noch vorhanden. Den Unterschied machen jedoch Erics und Chris' Gastfrendschaft und Herzlichkeit aus! Für sie sollte es einen 6. Stern geben.

Stunning place! Great hosts! Eric and Chris have created a paradise. There are only two huge rooms in the middle of the jungle and still close to Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Parks (less than a 10-minutes drive to the park entrance; cf.name of the accommodation). Thanks to the large windows, you virtually sleep in the jungle. A jacuzzi is also available. Eric's and Chris's hospitality and friendliness are what make the difference! They should get 6 out of 5 stars.

A crazy luxury place in the middle of the rainforest with only 2 private suites and a outside hot tub, with everything you need in the room. We spent 2 daus and nights there for our honeymoon, was memorable! A peaceful place who makes you feel isolated enough to fully relax while the hosts, Eric and Chris, are next door in case you need anything. They are extremely nice, helpful and give you really good tips for your next days or destination. All their tips were amazing so just go there and do not hesitate, it is definitely worth the price!

If you need the perfect stay in a beautiful relaxing surroundings this is the spot you should look for. Started with a very nice owner couple Chris and Eric who explained everything of House and scenic points perfectly, we enjoyed a room furnished and decorated perfect with i believe the best bed ever; and with rainforest view in the garden. There are only 2 rooms to book so I expect it will be sometimes difficult to get a room reserved. Again the best spot to relax only take care of your Alimentation by yourself, Chris and Eric offering a selection in the fridge; but next restaurants are limited.

This was the most PERFECT stay. I don’t think I could dream up a better place. We were greeted by Eric and Chris who are kind and helpful and made sure we felt at home. We actually cancelled our plans so we could hang out here longer and enjoy the space. It feels like a rainforest treehouse. They are so detail oriented from the coffee to the fresh fruit to the cakes. Also, one of the cleanest places I’ve ever stayed. We spent our New Year’s Eve enjoying the hot tub and listening to the rain. I would come back to Hawaii just for this hotel!
