Getting up here is one thing but it has great views. Starting at the recreation parking lot it can take an easy 2-3 hours to get to the summit. Depending on the recent weather of course, the trail can be quite muddy and slippery. We ended up removing shoes about a third of the way up as I didn’t have the proper shoes. There are some parts where you use a rope to climb a slippery face so just take it easy and watch your footing

Round trip back to parking lot took us around 5-5.5 hours

Took the bus to Peter + Ruth and walked to the Wa’ahila Ridge Trailhead. Great hike for more advanced hikers, only real challenge was the last quarter of the hike with the steep angle requiring ropes (the ropes are really more necessary for going down than coming up).

Incredible hike. Started at the Waahila recreation center and followed to the peak of Olympus. Some mild to moderate but doable climbing at some parts. All together very entertaining. Bring water and boots. Definitely going to need at least 4 hours from top to bottom and try and find a clear day.

It started pouring rain while we were at the top and walking down we basically had a mini ravine up to our ankles. It was an experience I will never forget. Probably a little dangerous, but was totally worth it.

Very fun trail to Hike, if you can dedicate at least 4 hrs.if not more.you get to see Various view of both sides of the valley as well as a beautiful view of Honolulu and the Pacific. With various terrains and scenery going once is not enough because it's breath taking.also if you are hiking at the time of year where you see red fruit on the trees, those are waiawi or strawberry guava, in other words edible. I do recommend bring plenty of water as it is a bit of a workout. It tends to be muddy second half of the trail and even muddier if it rained the day of or day before. It could also gets pretty windy towards the second half depending on the day. A good pair of hiking boots/shoes is highly recommended.

Took the Wa'ahila Ridge Trailhead, path is well developed so you don't need to worry about getting lost. The Google trail is correct. Bring lots of water, bug spray, hiking shoes, and when I did it the last mile to the summit was all mud so be prepared to get muddy. Once you get to the top ridges it the path becomes narrow with a steep drop so just be mindful of that. View is worth it when you get to the top. The picture I took doesn't do it justice.

Beautiful hike. The ridges weren't too bad in my opinion, but it might be tough for those with vertigo.
