I have a hyundai that is still covered by my warranty and Sherry and all the other girls at the office has been so helpful and knowledgeable for my recalls and parts that needed to be replaced such as my abs light.

Worst sales ever in kona, I wanted to buy a car from their online website, found a car, I called and they told me all kinds of stories about the car, "it's in service" "I got to wait for the list" "call back next week" next couple days the car I wanted was gone, it's like they are saving the good cars for their friends and family. We called for another car "runs rough, K bye" wow so rude! I would pass on them, i found a better deal on facebook and they was friendly.

We bought a new Forester online through the Hilo dealership. It was a done deal in a matter of minutes. They shipped it to Kona for us and Luke helped us with paperwork. Super nice guy and no BS. The finance department was good also (fast, upfront, honest). We also got a great deal. It was a top notch experience for us. Everyone at Big Island Motors in Kona town was great even though none of them got the commission as we bought it through the Hilo dealer online and via text messaging. Would recommend for sure.

First service for our Outback. Extremely slow. Estimated 1 1/2 hour time frame. Now 2.5 hours sitting in sun, no sign of any time yet to get out of this service purgatory.

If I could give this place negative stars I would. My parents, who are in their 60s and 70s by the way, bought a used Nissan Quest from them. Fast forward to a month down the road and the car has such bad vibrations that its potentially unsafe to drive. They are currently spending thousands trying to diagnose as well as fix an unknown problem.

From the multiple auto shops and different mechanic opinions, they all agree on one thing. There was front end damage to the car, potentially frame damage, that was NOT disclosed and that should have been upon purchase. When they called the dealer the only “solution” they offered was a trade back BUT at greatly depreciated value in light of the front end damage (again this was done well before they even purchased the van).

Avoid this place. They really live up to the negative stereotype of used car places. Rip off to the max.

I purchased our car online. Their follow through was awesome They dropped it off at the airport as promised It was missing a floor mat. When I stopped by they automatically replaced it. Highly recommended

Ran my credit 5 times. Then never contacted me. Didn't put in much of any effort to help me out. Ignored emails and phone calls. Very disappointed in the lack of customer service and willingness to help.

The only reason I am giving them 2 stars is because the saleswoman was excellent.if possible, she would have received 5. Unfortunately, the manager lost her a cash sale. Not willing to budge so much as a dollar. Not once was I acknowledged by the manager regarding the sale. I was really surprised by the lack of inventory, although I am aware that the covid virus has changed things, it doesn't explain the lack of choices. I won't even start on the Mazda issue, but wow.very unfortunate that Mazda won't even do business with you. Needless to say, I felt horrible for the saleswoman as she did sell me the car. I went straight over to Orchid Isle and can't believe the contrast of the way I was treated. They went above and beyond to make it a wonderful, stress-free experience! In less than an hour I drove away in my dream car. I guess I should thank the manager for not caring. I'm much happier with my brand new Ecosport, for 5 grand less. Crazy way to do business, and you can rest assured that I will never consider buying a car from them as long as that manager is there.whoever he is.

I have been calling to make an appointment with their service department for over a week and the phone just rings and rings and rings. I’ve left messages that have never been returned. What’s interesting is that while I wanted to drop my car off for service I was going to look around to purchase a new car, but why would I buy from a company that has zero customer service. Oh well, guess they are so busy they don’t need a new customer.

Not an honest or trustworthy dealership. Their customer service dept.is staffed by argumentarive and dishonest deceptive people. Try a different dealership.

High prices for work done, diagnostics. The rear view mirror fell off and they replaced it, then it fell off again and said they couldn't fix it because the glass was "pitted. " The only people who worked on that area of glass was them = they "pitted" it and now can't fix it for that reason!

Pleasant service office staff, but not very efficient, nor flexible salesperson I tried to work with. Guess I'll buy again on Oahu and ship!

Always having a hard time to get a service appointment. This is always the case. Nobody from the service department picking up calls. I love Suburu but with this kind of service I gotta have a 2nd thought of buying or recommending it!

Excellent customer service no matter the price of the car you are buying! Tom Hunt made the car buying process simple for us while purchasing from the mainland. We live in Colorado; our daughter was heading to the Big Island for college & needed some inexpensive/safe/reliable wheels. He sent us video clips and photos of the two cars we were considering, gave us straightforward instructions re: the paperwork (which he mailed via Fed-Ex at no additional cost) & informed us of a couple nuances with insurance in Hawaii (ie: insurance cards must have a watermark & we actually needed a separate USAA policy since this vehicle is registered in another state). He ran a solid safety check & made the couple needed fixes. When my daughter finished her 2 week quarantine (she also had a COVID-19 negative test before flying to HI) he had the car ready to roll off the lot, temporary registration/paperwork complete, and gave her an inservice on the vehicle as she'd never driven a van. Tom probably spent as much time with us on the sale of this inexpensive used vehicle as the local guy who sold me my new Volvo XC90 (for 15x the price) all the while providing us with EXCELLENT customer service. Highly recommend Big Island Motors & Tom Hunt - we could not be happier!

My wife and I recently bought a Subaru Crosstrek from Big Island Motors. Our salesperson, Fred Hirokane, is extremely knowledgeable about Subaru, the Crosstrek and the sales process. Fred is very kind, patient, relatable, and is mindful of his customers needs and desires. He took the time to sit in the vehicle with us and explain the features and technology, he walked us through hooking up our phones, and was very willing. There was absolutely no pressure throughout the buying process. My wife and I highly recommend Fred as a salesperson and will return to purchase another vehicle in the future. We were treated with respect and they worked hard to see that we were comfortable with our buying and purchase experience. Big Island Motors all around has great people working for them and they care about their customers.
