Big Kahuna's Pizza reviews
13Okay pizza. Thicker crust style pizza. Spicy pepperoni. Which I liked! No cheese bread, but they have cheese balls.
We’ve been searching for our favorite pizza spot and we’ve stumbled upon Big Kahuna’s near the airport. They are very friendly, gave us a few free samples and military discount. The pizza style is similar to panned pizza mixed with Chicago pizza. The toppings were abundant, and the crust crispy.
So glad we ordered the larger size for our lunch tomorrow. They also sell sandwiches and ice cream. There is a small dine in area too. Such a good experience. ️
Tip: get the cheese balls
Definitely our favorite and we will be back often!
Excellent service, suggestions, and a little surprise of the most delicious ice cream at the end.just like a good sorbet! Amazing!
Pizza was fantastic and the staff was super friendly. The garlic cheese balls were really yummy too.
Customized my sandwich and it was soooo good! The cashier was very attentive and patient with me taking my time choosing toppings. Many items to choose from!
Literally, and I mean literally, some of the best pizza in the world. You'll find that those employed here are very kind and welcoming, which is a trait that pairs well with world class food.
I used to eat here when I was a kid, and recently got to come back to the island for a couple days for a quick visit. This was the only location we visited twice, despite our packed and varying itinerary, and it earned this spot on our trip.
Do not skip the garlic cheese balls, you could easily do a large order for each in your group, I'd slip the pizza and just eat these if the pizza wasn't also so good. Highly recommend their brisket as a pizza topping, that said, the meat lovers has their brisket as a topping and I recommend it as an avenue to try the brisket.
ALSO. Don't sleep on their ice cream. We had a seasonal "egg nog" flavor while there, and despite not being egg nog fans, we were hooked.
Meat lover's & Haole (ham with sweet pineapple and green peppers. Excellent value and taste. BK special is 1/2 off 2nd 12 inch pizza. Friendly staff. Very close to airport.
Don't let the gate scare you off. With purchase they validate so no cost to park. Wish I took a picture of this amazing pizza. We had the garlic cheese balls, and the medium sumo special pizza. Every bite was delicious. Excellent customer service and reasonably priced. We will be back!
This place refused to serve a customer 45 minutes before closing and called the customer a liar. Website and sign on door showed closing at 7pm on 24 Dec.walked in and person at door said they closed an hour ago. Referred to the paper hand written sign on door and the person at the desk said oh well its wrong. Thanks for the 30 min drive out waste of time.
We tried the garlic balls and they had no flavor. We also had pizza. The crust was mushy and the pizza didn’t have much flavor. Would not recommend.
Quick lunch stop on arrival back home. We had fond memories of visiting this Hawaiian restaurant every time we had visitors or were on our way off the island.
The food is plentiful buy no longer as flavorful as we remembered. Not sure if there is a shortage of certain items but this time the whole process was disappointing.
Proof of vaccination must be provided if sitting inside, but no need if sitting outside. Sitting outside for me is an ideal solution whether vaccinated or not, it is safer than sitting inside with inadequate air circulation.
Lots of plastic for serving food which is creating excessive waste. And there was a 25 minute wait to receive our food.
That said we will probably visit again but not as regularly as we used to.
Really great place to grab some pizza, especially if you are around the airport and have a few hours to kill before a flight. Friendly staff. My family enjoyed it! Funky and fun feel in a small restaurant.
Zero Stars
Last time I ate here was 8 years ago. Today I called in for a take out order.
I was told 35-40 mins so I went there around 35 mins, waited in line for 10 mins, paid and was told another 5 mins.
I saw a group get seated and get their pizza while I waited, another ~25minutes after seeing bunch of take out orders going out, I got my pizza. I was so hungry I opened the box to have a bite and the pizza was cold. Room temperature, as if they had been sitting there for 30 mins, the whole time I was waiting. I am 100% sure it was not right out of the oven.
Not only the cold pizza was disappointing the bbq chicken, garlic-spinach-tomato, nor the sumo pizza were that good, even after I reheated the pizza at home.
I feel I had a better experience 8 years ago, maybe my taste buds have gotten richer. There was a line of people with take out orders, but I will not be returning here even if they offer me a free hot pizza.
