Boss Frog's Snorkel, Bike & Beach Rentals, Lahaina HI

Was on Maui this past week. I was staying up the block and wanted to try Snorkeling. Drove by Boss Frog and went in to rent some equipment. The Equipment worked great. No problems with the gear. Kept it for 3 days and used it every day.when I returned the Gear i noticed a sign in the window Snorkel gear 1.50 per day. Humm I was charged 25 dollars per day. So I went in and asked Why I was charged more money and their reply was they gave me the better equipment that the gear for 1.50 is garbage and I would not have enjoyed myself. The whole problem is that they never showed me the Gear and let me decide what I wanted to spend. Don't Spend my MONEY for ME. The customer service would get negative stars but I had fun with there Gear.

They seem to offer a lot and people seem to have a great experience. For us, however, customer service was awful. We went to Boss Frogs wanting to rent a surf board. The employee told us he would not rent us a board without a lesson (of course push the lesson because it costs much more than just renting a board) he had valid concerns -being that we had only surfed a few times previously. But he pretty much said renting a board would be a waste of money because we wouldn't even be able to stand. Anyway, went to 808 board rental and the guys there were AWESOME-rented us the appropriate board and we surfed all day! (Rode the first wave we tried lol no issues)

Bike tour was freaking awesome! The guide was amazing and the very knowledgeable about the island.

Popped in to purchase a rash/sun guard before snorkeling due to getting burned the day before. Ashley was so helpful in assisting me with the best option, as well as choosing board shorts. Not only did she help me select apparel, she helped us with where to snorkel (Slaughterhouse Beach) and suggested a float belt to make it easier while we snorkeled. Highly recommend Boss Frog’s! Kalani & Denny were awesome! This was our 4th trip to Maui & 2nd time using this Boss Froggs location. We had our 18 yr.old son and his girlfriend with us. Kalani patiently fitted us all and passed on lots of helpful snorkeling tips to make our new snorkeler feel at ease. Both Denny & Kalani had lots of great info on where to snorkel, park, and best food in the area. We really appreciated all the time & attention they gave us to make sure we enjoyed our time in Maui. We ended up getting an incredible value for money! Best deal on the island as far as we were concerned. They hooked us up with 2 snorkling cruises for 4,4 snorkel sets, & 2 boogie boards for less than we could have imagined! (Full disclosure: We did volunteer to go to a 2 hour vacation share presentation to get the best deal, but the value was well worth it!) Thanks Kalani & Denny for the V. I. P.treatment! We will definitely be back to see you. Your friends from Coeur d Alene, Idaho!

I really wish the customer service was better here but they are extremely rude and lazy at this location. Boss Frogs is normally great but this location has some of the worse staff on the island.

This location was great and Denny was awesome! He was very helpful. I've been coming to Maui for years and always go to Boss Frogs, this is one of the better locations. Denny even had the needle to deflate our volley ball at the end of our trip so we could take it home. Very cool!

Kalani and Denny were fantastic to work with. Really hooked us up for our two week stay. Kind and professional while still keeping the Hawaiian charm and happiness flowing. Well informed and all around great experience.

We met with Kalani and rented gear for our 2 week stay. He's awesome. Super personality. Their prices are great and their gear is top notch. I highly recommend Boss Frog. And ask for Kalani.

James was extremely helpful and friendly. We had a gear mishap and it was corrected immediately! Great shop!

Great spot to rent snorkeling gear. The staff was helpful and the price was competitive with other rental shops. We didn't book it in advanced, we just walked in and they had plenty of gear. We appreciated the rental was for 24 hours, so we didn't feel like we had to rush back that same day to return gear, we could do it the next day and not be charged more. Recommend them for your vacation

We called this location due to the close proximity of our condo looking for a SUP for the day. John assured us that he would save 2 boards for us for the day because they sell out quickly. We showed up around 10am and got our boards. I asked (maybe a stupid) question if there were a lot of sharks in the water near by. He responded with a sarcastic remark that of course there are sharks in all waters.ok.shrugged it off. We left and carried the heavy boards across the street to pretty wavy waters.we were unsatisfied and were looking for calmer waters (non-white capping waves) so we grabbed our jeep and grabbed some straps from down the road and called a few other boss frogs locations to figure out how the waves were nearby their locations. The Kapalua location was helpful to tell us that we should go south for smooth water today.so we did, he was right. We enjoyed our SUPing there and headed back to our condo assuming the boss frog location near by would be open until 9pm like the other locations. We had to assume because John didn’t care to let us know when they closed and when to get our boards back by. NOW MY HUSBAND HAS TO DRIVE TO LAHAINA to drop the boards off before close and is extremely stressed over the situation. Pretty sure that isn’t how a customer should be feeling! John also said the legal page we signed off on was just so “we didn’t sue the owner over anything”. Which in the document says something along the lines of “I fully read this agreement” yet he literally signed it for us. NOT HAPPY WITH THIS LOCATION OR JOHN’S TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. We clearly do not live on this island and we needed suggestions on where to go.not just one place.give your customers multiple options. Thankfully we already knew how to use the boards from past experience because he didn’t even offer any advice on the boards. We will sadly be renting from another further location tomorrow.

Hi guys, We had a really great experience with Roland. We booked a tour and rented snorkeling sets. He did a really professional service and has a very positive attitude! Highly recommended!

This place was very convenient from the resort we were staying in. The staff is very friendly especially Roland, he treated us in very good manners. We rented paddle boards, surfing board and snorkeling package. I can't expect more from a salesman. Overall, our experience was very good I have no complaints at all.

Roland is a great guy and will go "overboard" to help you out. Fast, efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. You won't go wrong here. Prices were great, and the service was even better. A true spirit of Aloha with him at this location!

This is our 2nd stay in Kahana and both times we went to Boss Frog's in Kahana and received excellent service. Kevin was attentive and provided great recommendations for snorkeling as well as other activities. Thanks Kevin!
