Brown's Beach House Restaurant, Waimea HI

The three courses Christmas dinner is probably not what I expected. The first course is fine with the salad or the soup. The wagyu beef is perhaps the best choice for the second course. But the third course is problematic. I don’t like the wagyu short rib, it is a bit too heavy and too dry. They are super nice and switch me to chioppino. I really really appreciate that. But the coconut favor is too strong for me. I guess they really tried hard but it just doesn’t suit my taste.

The food was good but we requested to sit under the roof and was told no. The wind blew over the red wine glass I had all over my dress. Manager offered to dry clean but we were checking out the next day. Then all of a sudden it's not a problem to sit under the roof. It was my mother-in-laws 80th birthday and these things kept me fr giving a higher rating. All that was offered was a new glass of wine.

I wanted to take my husband somewhere nice for his birthday. Looking at the reviews and prices for the dishes, I was excited to bring him here. It had been awhile since we were somewhere truly nice.
We unfortunately didn’t make time to see the sunset but we were still able to hear the water in the background. Our waiter and other staff members were on top of everything. Our drinks never got below halfway full. Our meals were absolutely delicious. Compliments to the chef and the entire restaurant. Thank you for a wonderful birthday dinner, Brown’s Beach House!

Hands down the best meal on this side of the island. Our server Christian was personable and made our evening. My steak was cooked perfectly and my husband had the venison which was delicious as well. Of course desert was a must.
We definitely will be back.

Amazing time! The staff was so welcoming and lovely. Every accommodation needed was met. They were able to easily handle a large group (~20 people)

Disappointed. Expected great food and service at the price point, both were average. Setting is nice.

Went for dinner as we were staying at the Fairmont Orchid. Beautiful views and amazing live entertainment. The sweet potato bread was fantastic and purple. The clam appetizer was simply something special with a broth that would be an absolute delight if combined with some Japanese noodles/ramen. The poke appetizer was also very good but the clam dish was the real standout. My wife had the catch of the day which she also enjoyed.

Food was great. Over look's the beach and has live music which makes for a very relaxing evening.

We love this place for special occasions. There is a reason its so highly rated. I had the venison steak and it was amazing. The view and the ambiance is AMAZING.

Had a beautiful dinner here. Spot is great for watching the sun set. Appetizers were the highlight of the meal as well as the bread and butter. We had roasted beet salad, poke, and pork belly and all were outstanding. The
entrees and desserts were underwhelming. At these prices, next time I would order appetizers only and eat two pieces of the bread.

Stunning sunset view, amazing personable service, and awesome food! They have a vegan menu with multiple entree options and two different appetizers. We loved their purple sweet potato bread a little too much, and appreciated that our server knew just what subs were required to make it vegan!

Beautiful views, excellent staff and food. Can't recommend higher than a 5 star but it is.

Gave them one star because that is the minimum allowed. Can’t speak about the food, since they cancelled our reservation the day of, ON OUR HONEYMOON. Thanks a lot, browns beach house, I will eat at McDonalds before attempting to patronize this establishment ever again, and I encourage anyone who reads this review to spend their food budget anywhere else as well. This place definitely impressed from the purple sweet potato rolls to each deliciously-crafted entree. The only picture of the bread I got was of one lonely bun because it was so tasty it disappeared quickly. The inside was actually purple with some chunks of sweet potato and went great with the simple salted butter.
Every dish was packed with flavor and just done very well. Their sauce game is on point. The pork belly was tender yet had a nice char and slight crisp on its outside; the fish dishes both tempura-ed and not were wonderfully seasoned while still maintaining the flavor of the fresh fish.
Service was also A+, the setting was beautiful, and making a reservation was a breeze.

Wow what a meal. Steaks & Lobster! The ribeye with bone marrow was delicious! And the beautiful sunset on their beach front dining experience; very accommodating staff. It was a bit windy but beautiful.

Great restaurant at the Orchid Resort. We ordered the Duck, Gnocchi, Ribeye, and the special of the evening (the Lamb Chop) and all four of them were delicious. Great attentive service and beautiful atmosphere. Very pricy, but you get what you pay for.

If you are staying at Fairmont Orchid, this is you must visit restaurant also the one with best reviews and all for a good reason. Location is on the lawn right by the ocean. Great view of sunset. My experience with service was quite present and my server was great. Selection and options are great and I don't think so you can go wrong. I had Soup, Kompachi and Gnocchi and all three were great. Also the purple bread they served with sweet potatoes were amazing and would recommend bringing extra apatite for that.
